Also, there are quite a few festivals and major events that may not be listed here. I'll be updating as the weeks go on (lots of festivals aren't fully scheduled out until a few months in advance). Feel free to drop suggestions, additions, omissions and updates into the comments.

Wild applause for the hotel staff managing that crazy turnout! Pulling in and seeing the cars lined up down the road past the other business was the first warning - seeing hotel staff out pointing out creative parking spots in the parking lot was the second.
Does anyone have any idea about how many showed up?

This could end up being a pretty significant semiconductor development for Upstate New York if it moves forward.
According to the Post, Solidigm has been scouting sites in the area and the project could create hundreds of jobs if approved.
The proposed factory would make NAND flash memory chips, which are used for data storage in things like smartphones and large AI data centers.
There is an important disclaimer here though: no deal has been finalized and no factory has officially been announced.
Solidigm called the reporting “speculation,” while also saying the company is currently evaluating its “strategic alternatives.”
The Post also reports that Gov. Kathy Hochul administration is pushing to get a deal across the finish line and could use incentives through New York’s Green CHIPS program if the project moves forward.
There is also a federal piece to this.
According to the article, SK hynix has tied a potential new U.S. factory to federal approval allowing restricted American chipmaking equipment to be used at its existing facility in Dalian, China. That approval has not been resolved yet and could affect whether the U.S. project moves forward.
If Solidigm does eventually choose the Utica area, it would put another major memory-chip operation in the same broader Upstate New York region as Micron’s Clay project.
That would be pretty notable, especially considering both companies operate in the memory business.
For now though, this is still a reported possibility, not an announced project.
Credit to James Franey and Thomas Barrabi of the New York Post for the reporting.
I’ll put a link to the full article in the comments due to facebook's policies, you will need to copy and paste the link vs clicking on it.

North Syracuse when looking north approximately 1925 hours today- we spotted fast-moving burning orange space debris of some sort. It seemed somewhat large and then it split in two before it was done burning. Just wondering if anyone else saw it or knows what it was.

Hi all! I’m a new transplant to Syracuse and I freaked out this morning thinking I was late for work when I saw the frost in my windshield. This is to say, I need help and need all the tips for surviving the winter (and specially driving) in Syracuse. I’m not a stranger to snow as I lived in NH for a couple of years around 10 years ago. But I’ve gotten out of practice and I never drove during that time. I appreciate everyone!!

I am unable to secure parking on the airport website because nothing is seemingly available.
Where can I safely park my car if there isn’t anything available when I arrive? Google says that the Americar parking is temporarily closed which offered cheaper parking rates and shuttle access.
I don’t want to be stuck driving around to find parking and then have to hike a distance to the airport and miss my flight. Or worse - my car get towed while I’m away and of course broken into or damaged.

I've got a galvanized lead supply line which appears majorly corroded. The city of Syracuse is supposedly around 50% done replacing these supply lines, to be finished by 2037 as of their latest estimate. I thought the general rule was anything before the meter is the city, anything after is the home owner. There is a shutoff valve before the meter, and after the meter, both within my basement.
I accidentally and VERY LIGHTLY tapped the supply line today while using a shop vacuum. The line started almost pouring a steady stream of water just after the shutoff valve on the pre-meter side. The valve on the pre-meter side looks like it will crumble if touched, so my plumber previously has advised me not to touch it.
I tried to shut off the water after the meter and this caused a second leak at that shutoff. I re-opened that valve, which slowed that leak to a drip, eventually stopping it.
I called the emergency line as I was concerned this near-pouring water might become gushing water, now that I'd apparently broken a seal of years of corrosion. I was informed the homeowner owns anything from the street to the home, so apparently the meter here is not the point of demarcation!? What further confused me is that in my previous city, I could shut off the water at the sidewalk if the shutoff failed within the home. I was informed only the city can shut off the water here street-side. The good news: By that point the water had slowed to a steady drip, which has not yet gotten worse. I am hoping it stops entirely through the magic of another layer of corrosion and minerals.
What still isn't clear to me is, who truly owns the water line inside your home, prior to the meter? This is such a weird setup to me. My last house had the electrical panel and any meters outside the house, but now that is all inside my basement. If the supply line up to the meter is owned by Syracuse, I would like to press them to prioritize me for that replacement of the disintegrating lead pipe. However, if the galvanized lead supply line is my responsibility, then it's a responsibility I accept. I just can't afford to be replacing that if that isn't the case.

Hi, I'm a 24m art dork! Thats basically my term for anyone who's investing in talking about and/or making art & media and isnt afraid to be a little silly :p.
But really, I've been trying to find some friends like me around syracuse for a while, but i haven't found any open social spaces in our local art scene 😅 so I'm taking a shot and trying to start one of my own. So, I'd like to invite anyone interested into my new discord server!
Id like this to be a smaller, more intimate and casual space, nothing professional, but as the host ill put my best foot forward to make sure everyone is engaged and friendly with eachother!
So, if youre any kind of local artist or enjoyer thereof looking to find some likeminded buddies, dont hesitate to DM me (I'll refrain from posting the invite publicly as an err of caution) so i can invite you over to the space! I look forward to meeting yall!

Honey is an absolute sweetheart. We just thought honey was a girl. Well given the two new guinea pig babies upstairs that came into this world in the middle of the night, he is certainly a boy.
Golden guinea pig, he comes with supplies, and cage. We have tried every pet store and surrender place to include the spca.
Any guinea pig enthusiast out there?
Will send pics via dm. Any help is appreciated. Ty

This is very important update as the conveyor is now setup across Caughdenoy Road. Once the rail yard is up and operational, it is expected to take the place of almost all of the current heavy vehicle traffic on the area's roads. It is expected to have a daily delivery of 60 rail cars, which according to Micron is the equivalent to 5 dump truck loads (300 per 60 rail car delivery), which Micron says will reduce the amount of truck loads by 7,300 per month. The conveyor will then bring the material across the road to the site without impacting traffic. The conveyor is capable of moving 1,500 short tons per hour. The rail operation is expected to result in about two train crossings per day at Route 31 and two at Caughdenoy Road. Each crossing is expected to stop traffic for roughly 5 to 10 minutes and is planned for off-peak hours. They are expecting to keep a stockpile of 75,000 cubic yards as a backup.

I’m a broke college student and I REALLY want to take my girlfriend and go, but unfortunately I can’t afford the $30+ per ticket prices right now.
If anyone has tickets they can’t use or is trying to get rid of them last minute, I can pay up to $20 per ticket. I don’t care where the seats are — literally just happy to get in.
If you have 2 tickets and would rather get $40 for them than have them go unused, please message me! Thank you!!
