At this point, I’m convinced Siri is trolling me.

Had this conversation with Siri outside of the full app interface but just wanted it to go into full screen mode to see something that was in the conversation earlier. Siri doesn’t know Siri exists.

I had my hands full of muck, so I asked the forecast, as I did before but, the new Siri was so helpful she either didn’t tell me anything, or just showed me the current time…. I couldn’t believe my eyes so washed my hands to take pictures of the watch. Asked again and again, but to no avail, only got these two answers in rotation … I’ll give the new Siri a few more days, then I’ll “upgrade” back to the old Siri… /iphone 16 pro/

Note, I’m on Siri AI in 27.2 beta two so maybe it’s a new feature in the beta I don’t know

I was trying to select a text to do copy and paste somewhere, and I accidentally held and dragged to the left, to discover there’s some additional options which I don’t think I’ve seen anybody mention. So I thought I would share.

I'm one of those for whom "it just doesn't work" but every now and then I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I got an email for a class action suit. I asked Siri if I'm likely in the class. After a promising response, I clicked the link to submit a claim. There were some questions that could take (I estimate) up to an hour to dig for. Things from over a decade ago hidden in emails or notes or myriad receipt/contract-type docs.

I asked for the answers to those questions, and Siri found them! Granted some weren't 100% accurate, but I double checked using the provided source links. I submitted my claim in like 10 min.

Thank you Siri! I'm hoping this experience becomes the norm and not the exception.

Asked siri a question earlier today and got this response.

Anyone else still find Siri completely useless? 🤔

“Hey siri, play recently added” plays a song by a random artist named recently added

“Hey siri, play playlist recently added” does the same thing

“Hey siri, play the playlist in my library named recently added” tells me I have two recently added playlists which is not true

“Hey siri, tell me what is in each playlist” tells me it can’t access that

“Hey siri, play songs from my library my Katy Perry” plays Katy Perry radio which has a bunch of songs not in my library

ALL of these functions worked before the Siri AI “update”. I mainly use Siri when I’m driving and it’s even more infuriating now. It has always been trash but somehow with AI in a lot of ways it’s WORSE. We waited 2 years for this????

I asked Siri to search for and paste my Hertz confirmation number here and it did it! I see a lot of complaints about the new Siri, but I’ve been pretty impressed!

I ASKED YOU WITH MY WORDS TELL ME WITH YOUR WORDS. Siri used to be such a helpful assistant when she could actually carry a conversation, I don't understand why they took that away. All that I asked was read me the weekly hours for a store. She informed me that they're open today. OK, what are the weekly hours? " here's what I found on the web." FUCK. no. Read me the weekly hours. "They are open today". I DON'T CARE. what are the weekly hours for the store? "oh would you like to call the store?" NO DAMN IT WHAT ARE THE WEEKLY HOURS "here's what I found on the web" FUCK I'LL JUST DO IT MYSELF

Whenever I ask Siri a question and immediately follow up with a related question, it completely loses the context of what we were just talking about. Instead of continuing the conversation, it treats the follow-up as a brand new, unrelated query.

Is there a specific setting I'm missing to enable better back-and-forth conversations, or is Siri still just not capable of proper context retention?

I still don’t understand how Siri is so bad STILL. Sometimes I’ll come across words and ask Siri for the definition… tried that tonight and got a “here’s what I found on the web” which was a web search for the definition (not displayed in screenshot) then I just asked it a bunch of words and didn’t get a single definition..

Edit (& fix):
How I ended up fixed my problem is
Settings -> General -> Dictionary
Unchecking (at least one option needs to stay checked) and redownloading the dictionary. Now it’s working fine.

Siri AI is somehow “dumber” than the old Siri.

I had high hopes for the upgrade, but lost all faith tonight. I was listening to music on my iPad while I was in the shower (the only iOS device in my bathroom). I asked Siri to play the next song and it stopped the music on my iPad and started playing a complete different playlist through my HomePod speakers multiple rooms away. While I was in the bathroom, I kept saying “turn off the music in the bedroom” and it didn’t understand. I finally got a coherent response when I asked “turn off the music” it finally said “turn off the music in the bedroom?” 🤦‍♂️

I normally try not to shout at inanimate objects, but this was crazy

Seriously, new Siri is bad. I flip my wrist and say, "Siri, set a timer for 3 minutes". Mid talking to her the little yellow icon goes away and she does nothing. Repeat 10 times and maybe she will start a timer.

I asked Siri to critique a draft Substack post I had written about Trump and Ukraine. This is the response I got. By that standard, maybe Apple shouldn’t have contributed $25 million to the Trump ballroom.
