You dont need an expensive phone or computer or internet to survive. Yet here you are posting on stuff you paid for thats not water, food or forest.

This argument is stale. I’ve had the same phone for 7+ years. Paid it off a year in. Without a phone I wouldn’t have made it to a GM position and increased earnings to a 6 figure salary. With that being said, I have now been surviving off DoorDash for a bit since running into health issues and having to resign from my position.

I unfortunately Immediately broke an ankle and had to use a lot of savings to stay afloat for a bit while that healed. It’s not easy right now with gas and groceries this highly priced and having to make sacrifices everywhere. I’ve personally had to shut off WiFi connection and I’ve had weeks over the past year where rice and beans and oatmeal were my meals for the day. My city is a bit overcrowded so finding work outside of baseline jobs can take a long time, but I’m tied to my family estate.

Also, I’m pretty sure my iPhone was $1000 on the payment plan for 12 months back when I got it AT&T had a deal going on from what I remember. I also just recently finally had the screen crack after 7 years.

So, because you have kept your phone, that means everyone else does? My wife manages a mobile phone shop. If people weren't buying new phones every couple of years, the business would go under and she would be out of a job.

Yea do you think everyone is doing that? No, but people that work full time should be able to afford a new phone every 3-5 years, yes.

The OP is a hyperbole. We need entertainment but nothing excessive like flying cars.

In the 90s there was no Reddit. It replaced gems of the early internet unfortunately.
