actually, the email where he begs and gets rejected was fake.

The emails where he arranges a visit and is told he's always welcome are real, and it was confirmed by his daughter that he was in the area at that time.

It's amazing that the internet seems to have been tricked into thinking he didn't actually go to the island all the time, which he did
