How does one do this nowadays. Been out of the game so long I'm not sure how to get back into it

The *arr stack

Sonarr and Radarr for managing TV and Movies, Prowlarr for searching scores of sites. Then Plex or Jellyfin to play everything.

Not the only way to do things either, probably not even the easiest tbh

I'd also recommend Overseerr. You can open that up on your phone, browse movies/TV shows, request them from the app and they'll get added to your sonarr/radarr which will then go out and find them.

It can be a bit time consuming to set up but it's not that hard. There are plenty of guides out there, or just do what I did and ask ChatGPT to walk you through it.

Oh yeah, don't forget to get a VPN.
