Hi! Looking for someone local to Philly to help set up a pi and tankstick configuration. Anyone out there?

I have a few older Raspberry Pi models (specifically Model B).
Any suggestions on what kind of OP would be recommended for these older models that do not even have legacy-maintenance (ref1)?
Any particular custom builds you've encountered that could be fun to play around with?
I am mostly thinking Escape Room-style signalling and mechanics that does not require that much RAM or processing power.

I’ve been trying to output my 3b+ to a domestic UK 14” CRT. It worked fine with the 3.5mm to composite but I want the quality of Scart.
I have a VGA HAT and a vga to Scart cable from retro gaming.
I’ve injected 5v on pin 16.
Try as I might the best I get is vertical scrolling picture.
Has anyone managed to make this setup work ? Can anyone tell me how please :-)

Is anyone else having similar problems after the recent Ubuntu update?
Retroarch fail to compile correctly: Problably due to presence of libwayland-dev on my system (need to compile SDL2 either).
Also emulationstation goes completely in glitch.... if i scroll the theme sometime screen goes in screen some pics disappears and all similar issue.
For emulationstation i don't have idea if i use X11 it's works...

Wanting to pick up an RP4 locally and install RetroPie, my only problem is knowing what to do to actually connect it to the RGB ports. Anyone had experience with this? Most people I see either use a scart cable with RGB-Pi or composite
Will I be able to get native res on games if I convert the HDMI to VGA then VGA to RGB?

I'm not super familiar with adding emulators to RetroPie unless they're available in the RetroPie Setup menu. Does anyone know if this could work in RetroPie?

Hey guys, I'm new to the Raspberry Pi / RetroPie scene and I'm thinking of buying this CanaKit Raspberry Pi 3 B+ set from Amazon, which apparently has everything you need to install the gaming software (RetroPie, Batocera, etc.) from your computer, plug it to the TV and start playing.
I'm planning on using it on a CRT Sony Trinitron, and I think this Eanetf 3.5 mm AV to RCA Cable would do as long as I use the red connector as video (according to the comments).
I also know that I need to adjust settings in one of the Batocera/RetroPie config files (guess it can be done in either OS?).
So my questions are:
____
Thanks in advance

Hey guys, just a quick question before I start a project. I'm planning on setting up a lil arcade game retropie, it'll only be worth it if i can get a certain game working on it. Buriki One. Buriki is a hyperneogeo64 game, does anyone know if it works with retropie and if so, which raspberry pi would I need to buy?
Side question, Fighting Layer is another on my list if anyone knows if that'd work. I figure it's a little less likely but I can live with that.

I accidentally knocked the resistor and I can't find the value anywhere online. Any help would be appreciated.
Solved: 0402 SMD, 8k2 Ohm. Confirmed working. Thank y'all for the help

Hello all. I’m an avid collector of unique or rare Raspberry Pi boards. I’m in search of an Egoman Red Raspberry Pi board. If you have one for sale I am very anxious to purchase one for my collection. I use PayPal Goods and Services for the transaction.

I have been waiting for ai to get to a point where it can build out characters for me and with ChatGPT Astra it’s finally at a point where I can load a single image and have it build out my full character including sprite sets.
ChatGPT Astra with ChatGPT images for character sprite image generation.
Background created in photoshop / ChatGPT and imported with fighter factory.

Somebody made me a RetroPie mega drive and after an absolute ball ache trying to get my 8bitdo m30 reconnected, I've somehow managed to snap my sd card in half while putting the cover back on and now it obviously doesn't work. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get a new card loaded with games please? It's a raspberry pi 3 model B+ and i have absolutely no idea where to start. Thanks

I've had this Pi set up for years and use it pretty regularly, but it's been months since I last played a Genesis game. I've always used lr-genesis-plus-gx for Genesis, and never had a problem with it until now.
I never had any performance issues before, but I just fired up Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition, and the game slows to a crawl as soon as any Hadoukens are thrown. So then I fire up Sonic, and it slows to a crawl whenever any enemies are on screen.
I tried uninstalling, then reinstalling lr-genesis-plus-gx but the problem remains. (lr-picodrive still runs fine)
EDIT: I've tried Removing the emulator, reinstalling from source, returning settings to the default, double-checking to make sure I hadn't accidentally turned out shaders... still no luck.
But I've got a workaround for the time being. A while back, I installed a a fork called lr-genesis-plus-gx-EX that supports larger ROM sizes for games like Paprium. It plays everything perfectly, just like lr-genesis-plus-gx used to!
I'd still like to figure out wtf happened to the original emulator, but for now, if I want to use lr-genesis-plus-gx, I'll use the expanded version I guess.
EDIT2: Actually, while lr-genesis-plus-gx-EX does run a lot better, it's still not perfect. Picodrive runs at a consistent 60FPS, lr-genesis-plus-gx-EX bounces around the mid-50s, and lr-genesis-plus-gx frequently drops to around 30FPS.
I guess I'll stick to Picodrive for now...

Hi r/RetroPie,
I’ve been working on a community integration to run PortMaster’s GUI launcher from RetroPie on Debian-based systems. The installer adapts the setup to RetroPie’s ports folder and adds a launcher in EmulationStation.
Repository: https://github.com/Renetrox/PortMaster-RetroPie-Debian
This is experimental. The PortMaster interface launches, but controller handling and compatibility with individual ports still need testing. A port that works on a handheld CFW may not work on every RetroPie device, so please read the README and treat each hardware/software combination separately.
This is an independent project, not an official RetroPie or PortMaster release. I’m sharing it for feedback and testing; RetroPie support for non-standard Debian setups remains at your own risk.

No matter what I either cut off the bottom and top of the screen, or have these black bars on the sides! Is my TV too widescreen or something?

I have an arcade machine that I’ve had for quite a few years. It’s a mock-up original Mortal Kombat design, (has four controllers though) and was running quite nicely for many years.
It’s powered by a pi3b+ and had a custom image that just WORKED.
I had to change the screen recently as the old one had really significant burn in, and after it was installed, I rewired everytbing, cleaned it all up, powered it up and it booted…… once…
Turns out the card has a crack in it, and seems to be unrecoverable.
I do not have a backup for it.
It was made by MikozzZ as far as I know and I would love to find that old IMG again.
Posting this in the hopes that SOMEONE knows the setup I am talking about.
It would load a selection of videos randomly at start up instead of the standard retropi boot up.
It would cycle them randomly.
Rick and morty in 8 bit.
Stranger things starting theme with a little video.
There was a video of an old news article talking about video games taking over the world.
There was a Futurama one playing Tom Sawyer…. You get the idea. It was a real experience using that setup and I HOPE that someone knows the one I am talking about and can help me out a bit to locate it.
The menu was a showcase theme, and it was all arcade.
SNK, Capcom, Konami, etc.
The biggest thing for me is that it’s going to be hard to configure this to how seamlessly it was before.
Arcade punks is a no go, I don’t have a Usenet account and all relevant links are either dead or the torrents aren’t being hosted.
Anyone able to help me identify it and locate it?
It was on a 64 gb card, but I believe the file was 31gb
