Both are absolute dipshits, but the gray truck started it all (didn’t capture it). Dude in the gray truck was crawling at a snails pace in the right hand lane for no good reason. White truck came up behind him and cutover into my lane to go around - when this happened the guy in the gray truck tried to ram the white truck into the barrier. Then I started recording.

After the recording stops, they continued slowing down next to each other and seemingly arguing, then the white truck just tailgated the gray until they both exited at keystone.

(Sorry for the out of focus recording 😬)

Dog barking

When does a dog barking become a nuisance and what can be done about it?

My neighbors have a dog that barks 24 hrs a day. The wind blows it barks, someone walks by it barks, nothing going on it barks. My other neighbor has gone over and asked if they could please do something about it because his daughter is studying and nothing has changed.

I work from home and its very distracting to have this dog bark constantly.

Can I go to the city? Will they do anything?

This dog is outside 24/7.

Thank you.

Mental Health Fitness Friend

Really going through it this year and would appreciate a buddy who is in a similar spot and can relate. Let's support each other through recovery and build success stories together. I'm male but open to female friends as well. I'd connect best with somebody who is into fitness as some of my struggles are indirectly connected. Ideally looking for a few things:

1.) Has experience with therapy

2.) 30s/40s

3.) Meetup every 1-2 weeks ish

4.) Running or hiking or really any cardio obsession a plus

Reply or DM me!

CDJ Practice - Reno, Sparks Area?

• Upvotes

So I'm currently looking to see if there are any shops or facilities that allow for renting and practicing on CDJs. I'm a bedroom DJ that's now played a fair number of sets over the past year, but all of them have been on my standard controller.

I'm ready to step it up and try bigger venues, but I know I'll need to learn club-standard equipment. In particular, I'd love to try my hands on Pioneer/Alpha Theta CDJ 3000(x)s and the DJM A9.

Are there any locations in the area that allow you to, I don't know, pay by the hour to spin and try out the hardware? I'm certainly not in a position to go out and purchase the stuff myself.

I noticed this advisory about reno.gov issues, can't know for certain if it's related but today there is an urgent PHP security issue out there at the moment. If you're local business with a website, you should probably double check your web host is applying relevant patches.

Community Topic Please, for the love of GOD, tell city council not to adopt Fusus AI mass surveillance tomorrow

If you live in Reno and you are reading this, I am begging you (yes, YOU personally) to please show up to tomorrow’s city council meeting at 10 am, and demand that they do not sign this absolute dystopian nightmare of a contract.

Inform your family and your friends, and urge them to come with you. We need to flood the chambers and let them know that we are absolutely not going to let them do this to us.

If you cannot attend, here is the link to leave a public comment or register to attend via zoom:

Haven’t heard of FUSUS? It makes Flock look like a complete joke. Here’s a quick explanation.

Have you ever given much thought to how many cameras catch you in their field of vision on a day to day basis?

Every ring doorbell in your neighborhood, every intersection, every storefront, every worksite, every school, every parking lot, every sporting event, every medical office, every police drone, dash cam, body cam - even churches.

On a normal day for me, my estimate is about 130. If you actually count them up, I’m guessing that’s actually on the lower end for a lot of you.

Now imagine every single one of those cameras plugged into a system that has the following capabilities:

- Facial recognition scanning
- Gait analysis
- License plate scanning
- Emotional analysis based on facial expressions
- Personal associations mapping (friends and family)
- Predictive analysis using a constructed pattern of life baseline
- Access control
- Carried object recognition (drugs, outline of a concealed weapon in clothing, stolen property, etc)

Imagine all of these camera feeds are accessible at anytime by the Reno police, and shared to every other department or “federal partner” that requests it. They are monitored 24/7 by an AI system that logs and reports any flagged behavior. The behavior does not even have to be criminal behavior.

The scariest part? Unlike flock, There is no way to identify which cameras are plugged into this network. Any business or individual can register their EXISTING cameras to feed into Fusus. The end goal is, from the moment you exit your front door, to have an AI watching your every move, learning everything about you, cataloguing every petty crime, and deciding whether you could eventually pose a threat to those who rule over you.

This is the system that ends any possible resistance or insubordination before it even happens. It’s a system that collects and stores catalogues of blackmail to use against anyone at the right time.

It’s the palantir from lord of the rings.

I know it is easy to feel apathetic and hopeless about these things, but it is absolutely crucial that we use every ounce of power we have to prevent this from passing tomorrow. Once this system is in place, they will only ever build and expand it until it swallows us whole.

Antiabortion whackos at TMCC

Antiabortion whackos are currently on campus harassing and filming students. Feel free to swing by and give a little howdy. That 💩 should NOT be allowed on campus. Mind you, it’s only the “christians” who show up day after day, but yeah, everyone else are the groomers and indoctrinators. These yahoos tho, they are new.

Panasonic vs Tesla?

I have gotten a job offer from both Panasonic and Tesla, and I am deciding between the two. Both offers are essentially the same task day to day. Production associate which is essentially fixing battery packs that have gotten messed up. Panasonic pay starts higher than Tesla’s. 23.74$ vs 22.48$. I’ve heard the benefits at Tesla is a tad better ( ESPP , 6% 401k match instead of 4%). However I’ve heard of brutal bi annual / annual layoffs at Tesla, and not so much from Panasonic. Any advice / guidance would be appreciated!
