So I decided after more than 20 years being with nvidia to leave my comfort zone and get AMD video card. The market is crazy atm and I’m not sure if nvidia cards will soon drop prices , if they ever drop actually, so I decided it’s time for a change since I’m not too fond of spending that much money on 5070 TI.

I know that the card will run well, I’m just worried the support will disappoint me and will need time to adjust. But hope everything is fine.

Cyberpunk 2077 is getting what looks like its final patch, and few games can match its sheer visual exuberance. It would've been great if AMD had worked with CDPR to bring Ray Regeneration to the game, especially considering that next-gen AMD GPUs will need to focus heavily on ray tracing to even stand a chance of competing with Nvidia.

Instead, we got nothing, and ray-traced reflections will continue to look awful until we get some kind of mod or find a way to force DLSS 5.

What is FSR REDSTONE ( Source )
FSR REDSTONE is a combination of gaming technology that uses Machine learning

• FSR Upscaling 4.1.2: rendering a lower resolution frame and upscaling it into higher resolution, the key difference is now it makes use of machine learning or ML for short as opposed to the older analytical upscale solution  (RDNA2+)
• FSR Frame Generation 4.0.2: Use of machine learning frame interpolation to predict and insert new frames between rendered ones. It can predict where an object should be between the two rendered frames resulting in a dramatic uplift in perceived smoothness and FPS. (at the expense of some accuracy) (RDNA4+)
• FSR Ray Regeneration 1.2:  A neural network denoiser which restores the quality of ray traced detail from areas with poor or low amounts of data. This reduces the graining effect or noise on surfaces and means it can reduce the amount of work needed to render the scene meaning less wasted effort a better, smoother experience.  (RDNA4+)
• FSR Radiance Caching 0.9 (BETA): This is another neural tool, which learns how light behaves in a low-light environment and helps it predict the global illumination more efficiently. This coupled with FSR Ray Regeneration means a massive saving in the processing of ray-traced lighting..  (RDNA4+)

How It Works

• AMD added an FSR override feature for both upscaling and frame generation. This means any DX12 game that supports a compatible version of FSR can be upgraded to the latest version.
• If the game already uses the latest version of FSR Upscaling or Frame Generation, Radeon Software won’t override it and will show a yellow warning icon. Don’t worry. It simply means there’s nothing for the driver to override.
• FSR Redstone currently does not support the Vulkan API.

How to Enable FSR Redstone

1. The game must use the DX12 API and properly support FSR 3.1 or newer for upscaling, or FSR 3.1.4 or newer for frame generation.
2. Use Radeon driver version 25.12.1 or newer for RDNA 4, or 26.10.1 or newer for RDNA 2+.
3. Enable the FSR features you want to use in Radeon Software.
4. Enable FSR in the game.

Small Tip

• If you’re using driver 26.6.4 or newer, you can easily upgrade FSR 3.1 Frame Generation to FSR 4 Frame Generation by swapping the game’s FSR DLL to version 3.1.4. You must be using the latest driver for this to work. I recommend using DLSS Swapper since it makes swapping DLL files really easy.

Did someone who already updated to the latest driver could tell if there is any visual improvements on FSR upscaling modes with the 4.1.2 version for RX 9000, or it was just an update for the rx 6000 cards?

I week ago I upgraded from a 6750xt to a 9060xt 16gb I got for 500€ second hand, a really good deal since the 9060xt costs between 650€ and 780€ brand new in my country (fuck you ai companies), there's really not that much power difference between the two, like 12% I believe, but I wanted a gpu with a more modern architecture.

At first I was surprised by how silent it is, my 9060xt has two fans while my 6750xt had three, I made a test running graphically demanding games with both of them and the 9060xt always turned out to be the less noisy of the two, this ai great for someone like me who can't use headphones due to noise induced hearing disorder so my only option is using speakers. Aside from running games with a better performance, the fact that it draws less power is fantastic as well, and I can finally use fsr4

Edit: forgot to mention that this card manages temperatures much better despite having two fans

Probably would've went with an am5 build, maybe something like 9600x to go with the 9060xt. But I had the ram so I stuck with am4.

Originally I had a Thermaltake 120mm aio and I made it fit but it couldn't keep the temps low. It in fact even shut down once during a stress test. Swapped out to the axp90 x53 and temps stay at a max of 90c. Decided to throw three fans in and buy a 120mm fan bracket off Etsy to mount that noctua fan.

Now temps are at a max of 88c under stress test. But typically in the high 70s to low 80s for real world gaming. Then I undervolted the cpu and now I've got a max of 57c during gaming. One thing I find funny is the only time the psu fans spins is during start up. It never gets hot enough on that side of the case to turn on.

Also. I don't need that orange fan up top.

I want it.

P.s. being new to pc gaming. How do I take full advantage of fsr? And how to take advantage of fsr Vulcan? For reference, I target 1440p 60fps for my games. Havnt had an issue yet. But my tv is 4k 60hzr-120hzr. Can I use that to upscale it to 4k? Is that even how it works?

AMD has confirmed that FSR4 support is coming to VULKAN

I have this weird issue:

If I just Install the driver, I get good FPS in games (let's take BF6 as an example)

Driver only istallation FPS in practice range: 145 (with FSR Balanced)

With adrenaline software installed: 105-110 (same settings).

So I worked my ass off at Amazon over the summer and bought some new hardware after using my PC for 4 years. I got my 9070 XT XFX Mercury for a bit over €800, then followed suit with the motherboard, CPU and RAM (yeah, I bought memory sticks in 2026, the secret ingredient is buying used). And since I didn't have anything to do with my old hardware, which is still more than capable enough, I passed it over to my younger sister, once she got her own case and drive. Here you see the end result after the hardware transplant. Now we both have all-AMD systems 💪

Previous system: R5 5600, MSI B550 Tomahawk, IRDM Pro 16GB 3600MHz CL18, Sapphire RX 6700XT Nitro+, Corsair RM750.

New system: R7 5700X, MSI X570 Gaming Pro Carbon, G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32GB 3600MHz CL16, XFX RX 9070XT Mercury, BeQuiet Power Zone 2 1200W.

Would you recommend keeping Windows VRR enabled alongside FreeSync, or is it better to leave it disabled?

Just bought a used 9070xt for $750. Is this a good price or not? Around my area any 9070xt is $850+ brand new. I even increased my budget to around the used so I’m not really looking to pay more. It's a smaller model, it works fine and it's faster. Why not exposing a toggle to pick the preferred one on dGPUs too? Just like NVIDIA does with DLSS models. Let people decide :)

Now that AMD officially dropped FSR4 on RX 6000 series... Are you getting the full fat version of FSR4 on RDNA2? Is it on par with RDNA3 and RDNA4 Quality-wise?

I just got Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. It is pretty fun and easily the highest graphical load I have put on my PC. Playing it at 1440p.

I have some ribbon-like lines that occasionally come across the screen during gameplay, otherwise it is playing decently.

I use MSI Afterburner and have overclocked to +220 MHz, but I am now seeing tuning options in the AMD software. I realize that it can be dangerous to do both at the same time.

Anyone have any tips? I am interested in ways to get this game to run as smoothly as possible, and would take a slight hit to graphics to remove stutters. I am a newb to the graphics-card scene.
