He's going down with all the rest of them.

At this point, why even pretend there's an institutional firewall left? Just completely dropping the mask and admitting the whole system is a loyalty test is somehow less insulting than the usual gaslighting.

I wish I had your optimism.

Hahah. This comment made me laugh so hard. And so true.

u/OnePointSixOne8 1h ago

how?

By winning a majority in both chambers of the Legislative Branch for Democrats in two weeks. It's a start.

Do you remember what Democrats managed with only a majority of the House of Reps for two years? They impeached Donald Trump twice (2020, 2021).

4

u/OnePointSixOne8 33m ago

yeah, they impeached him and then nothing happened in the senate. they had special investigations and then didn't prosecute. they convicted him of 34 felonies and didn't sentence him. the richest man in the world shit all over our electoral process and didn't get checked or challenged in a single swing state...

I'm all for voting every last republican out of office....but stop deluding yourself into thinking anyone will ever do anything about this

If anyone gets a pardon it'll be him though.

u/Cabbages24ADollar 1h ago

Ahhh my guy. You work for us.

22

u/ArchonFett 1h ago

No, he is supposed to work for us. But instead he chooses to work for Trump.

14

u/Complete-Tangelo1532 1h ago

Who is also supposed to work for us*

30

u/Redshirt_Welshy_Nooo 1h ago

Should be Exhibit A in a criminal prosecution.

28

u/Cunty_Mctwat69 1h ago

No one said he was a smart man. In fact, nobody representing maga is a smart person. The midterms cannot come sooner.

28

u/Empty_Kay 1h ago

Fuck every single Republican that rubber stamped this asshole's confirmation.  Vote them all out of office.

21

u/CaliforniaDANC 1h ago

So does this mean that the USA is a lawless rogue state? I'm asking for a friend.

7

u/Dry-Dragonfly5286 1h ago

Internationally, we always have been. We used to put on a better show of it at home though

4

u/Motor-Bear-7735 1h ago

Wish the answer was no. 😔

17

u/BananasPineapple05 1h ago

Imagine being the most powerful lawyer in the land and being bold enough to proclaim that the Constitution is to be disrespected in its most basic aspects. You work for the people, dumbass, not DJT.

u/lowercasenameofmine 42m ago

Up until 2024, the AG of the DOJ was President Trump's private defense attorney.

11

u/cherryrosewallpaper 1h ago

He swore and oath to the constitution no? Not that Republicans take that seriously.

10

u/mousespa 1h ago

I would pay to peer momentarily into a world where Joe Biden made his personal lawyer the Attorney General. Can't even imagine.

8

u/gfunk1369 1h ago

It kind of worries me that he is just outright admitting this because it feels like he is confident that he will face consequences.

9

u/Ok-Customer4709 1h ago

Senate’s fault. The Senators knew this but confirmed him anyway.

6

u/PinOwn9351 1h ago

If you work for Traitor Trump then you are the problem.

8

u/remkelly 1h ago

The AG is the lawyer for the United States, with responsibilities to the Constitution and federal law. He advises the President on what is legal.

He does not work for Trump. And even if he did... TRUMP WORKS FOR US!.... which every damn member of the GOP seems to have forgotten. Their allegiance is supposed to be to their constituents. To us!

6

u/Silent_Erremite 1h ago

Shouldn't he work for the people? Not the president?

5

u/Underradar0069 1h ago

Yet all the suckers from GOP have confirmed his nomination

2

u/PixelBrewery 1h ago

They like this

5

u/Ok_Swim7161 1h ago

Another winner Congress voted for. I can't wait till they object to some secretary of a department ya never heard of because they once jaywalked in 2003 because a Democrat nominated them.

3

u/Suitable-Sense-6962 1h ago

I can’t wait till they arrest all these MFers

3

u/N4RQ 1h ago

Because no one is going to do anything about it.

Our government of "checks and balances" has failed our democracy.

8

u/Time-Valuable-3355 1h ago

They have checks and balances. Have you seen the size of the checks they receive and how much their personal balances have increased?..

0

u/SunshineDewdrops 1h ago

I see what you did there 😂😂😂😂😂😝😝😝

1

u/N4RQ 1h ago

I'm not running for anything and I approve of this message.

1

u/SunshineDewdrops 1h ago

You can thank the Republican Party —- bought and paid for by billionaires and you know who. The final piece of the puzzle is to get yourself a few immoral and shady Supreme Court Justices and bingo—we have a failed state.

3

u/whoisnotinmykitchen 1h ago

We know. That's the problem.

When your AG sees his job as supporting and defending the most shamelessly lawless and corrupt President of all-time, that's a red flag bigger than Trump's ego.

2

u/ozymandiasjuice 1h ago

Cool. I want a refund on any of my taxes that pay for the DOJ

2

u/cpt_Furios 1h ago

So who is supposed to Prosecute Trump if he does something illegal?

5

u/whoisnotinmykitchen 1h ago

Nobody. That's why he's there. And the Republican Congress and Republican "supreme" court were more than happy to play along..

Republicans are the party of corruption.

1

u/cpt_Furios 1h ago

Agreed, my question was rhetorical?

2

u/Buddhas_Warrior 1h ago

Vote blue! Vote these idiots out

2

u/yrar3 1h ago

Führerprinzip, they call it

2

u/rootofallstevil 51m ago

Remember that time that republicans lost their damn minds when they thought Obama was discussing matters with his AG? I don't remember the year but it was some made up scandal and they claimed Obama was telling the AG what to do?

2

u/Technical_Record_661 43m ago

That statement right there aught to be the grounds on which he is impeached in ‘27!

2

u/douchenozzle44 43m ago

Except he doesn’t, he is supposed to prosecute crimes against the American people not be trumps personal lawyer. He works for WE THE PEOPLE.

2

u/imdaviddunn 41m ago

Hope people realize this is what the Supreme Court ruled. Democrats have to escalate to make the Supreme Court declaration that the President is a king no longer operable.

But for now, the Court said the only independent agency in the government is the Fed.

1

u/bitchcoin5000 1h ago

Well here's an absurd example

trump: Todd I think we should sell Molly MDMA ecstasy at all concert events with our focus on the big festivals

Todd: That's a great idea

And that's why you don't serve the president You serve America

1

u/TheSquirrelWithin 1h ago

You're supposed to work for the American People, ya dope, not the president.

Another bad hire

1

u/HotwifeandSubby1980 1h ago

Nothing authoritarian about centralizing power to one person over all the levers of government

Move along now

1

u/SumQuestions 1h ago

we need to vote for Dems who will ensure that who he works for is the commissary at $0.12/hr

1

u/Accomplished-Two8866 1h ago

Blanche should get off his knees. I am not sure what Trump has on him. He maybe just a corrupt AG which seems to be a prerequisite for the administration.

1

u/cpt_Furios 1h ago

Go vote now please!!!

1

u/Wise-Calligrapher123 1h ago

How, then, do you define weaponization of the Dept of Justice?

1

u/Pypsy143 1h ago

JFC these people are dumb. It literally hurts.

1

u/Optimal_Cow6108 1h ago

Sickening, good job you back stabbing conservatives.

1

u/SunshineDewdrops 1h ago

Wow—he’s saying the fascist part out loud now. No buddy—you work for the People of this Country. What a macaroon. He knows better. He’s an attorney ffs. He had to pass the bar. This stuff is BASIC. he’s a real pork smoker….

1

u/CantaloupeFluffy165 1h ago

Open mouth,insert knee.

1

u/nonubiz 1h ago

How the hell did he get voted in

1

u/Feisty-Barracuda5452 24m ago

He is going to prison.

1

u/Feisty-Barracuda5452 24m ago

SecDrunk impeached first, then this douchecanoe.

1

u/ZeroVoltsGiven 17m ago

Straight to jail

1

u/YankinAndBankin 17m ago

So, so there's there was this ummisperception that there's this separation and independence um between the Department of Justice and the White House. And everybody likes to champion that and they accuse me of of of not suffering from independence. I don't.
I work for President Trump, but they did too. They did too. So, this idea that that Garland was just on his own making decisions independent of what the Biden administration wanted him to do is not true. And by the way, I'm not being critical of that. What I'm being critical of is the lie that he was independent

1

u/luveveryone 15m ago

No, mother fucker! You work for the citizens of America.

1

u/RoswellRedux 14m ago

He's really not bright, is he?
