Bit Annoyed THERE IS NO X IN ESPRESSO
I work at a coffee shop and no one knows how to pronounce espresso. There's no x. It's EH-spress-oh not EX-press-oh

Sometimes its my phone, sometimes my laptop. Don't tell me this isn't intentional and there is some script running to understand where my mouse or finger is just about to click on.
A page or screen appears to have loaded, and you want to click on something (e.g. the "Jump to Recipe" button on a recipe site), so you mouse over to it and click. But unbeknownst to you, there is some stylesheet or something that just hasn't quite finished and the nanosecond before you actually click, it finishes and BAM, that link or button or whatever is just a few pixels down and you click on something wholly unrelated (e.g. an ad), then you're in popup hell, or in a place where the back button has unintended functionality, or just doesn't work as it should and you can't go back so you just have to re-find whatever it was, or you just say "screw it, I'm ordering pizza. "

It's so annoying to get a phone call and I always start with "Hello, who is this?"
The person ignores me and starts to be like "Is this X." And I have to repeat "Who is this?"
I'm specifically asking who this is incase it's one of those calls that record your voice if you say "yes."
I'm also asking in case you're someone I don't want to talk with and then I can hang up on you.
Now before people ask why I answer unknown calls it's because of doctor appointments, job interviews, ect... and sometimes people use other numbers than the main one.
I don't understand why they can't just state who they are first. It would make it 10x easier for everyone. Because I'm not answering until you tell me who you are.

You know the type. If I’m eating hotdogs, “you realize how hotdogs are made, right?” If I’m eating McNuggets, “that ain’t real meat”. If I’m eating shrimp, “you’re eating sea roaches, you know that right?”
Buddy, I honestly couldn’t give any less of a shit. From the bottom of my heart, I do not give a single iota of a fuck. Does it taste good? Do I enjoy eating it? Yes on both counts, that’s all I care about. Bro, if I abducted you and held you captive and hours went by without anything to eat, if I gave you some McNuggets, I guarantee you’re gonna gobble that shit up. So spare me with your moral food superiority bullshit or whatever your angle is.
They don’t actually care about people’s health, they just like to feel like they’re better than everyone for eating “healthier”. If they truly wanted people to make better food choices, their approach could use some adjusting.

This is the oldest icebreaker in the book and has run its course. Be more creative. I already clapped when you got on stage, I refuse to clap or yell louder to make you less nervous about your presentation.

As a matter of fact, I feel more offended by the fact that you think I care that much. Your joke simply wasn't that funny, or do you want me to pretend it was?

No Sandra, I don’t want kids and I’ve never wanted kids.
Don’t tell me ‘you’ll regret it when you’re older” because I assure you, no I will not.

If you want to have a conversation with me and I've tried to ask some questions about you, please ask me back. I am NOT your personal jester. I also need to be heard even though I'm okay for listening most of the time. If you only want to use me as your audience, please create a podcast channel and watch it yourself. Or don't be a coward and tell me that you actually don't want to build a genuine relationship with me.

Example: I'm a criminal justice student, and A LOT of my peers want to be detectives. I can't tell you how many times I've heard some variation of "I wouldn't have chosen to major in criminal justice if I had known that you have* to be a police officer first before you can be a detective!!!!"
Like.. why do people not look into these things first????

I have never worked fast food or retail. Never worked as a teenager. I’ve only ever been a nurse. I’m sick of people thinking it’s because I’m rich and privileged. In reality, I received a disability check as a child and teenager for hearing loss and a genetic disorder. My mom depended on that check to pay our bills because we were in extremely poverty, so she wouldn’t allow me to work and risk getting that taken away. I couldn’t afford a car on my own without actually getting a job first and saving up, so without parental support, how was I supposed to get to a job in the first place?? My disability check got cut while I was in college for my 4 year degree, but even then I still had the same issue of not being able to afford a car to get to work. I had to pay back $30,000 in student loans due to not being able to work through college. Being able to afford to work is the actual privilege.

Especially when you overtake them at the speed limit, then they start going the speed limit next to you so you are forced to just dip back behind them.
Worse, they are hogging the middle lane. Speeding sometimes is the only option 🫡

I normally get this from people whenever they say something crappy or disrespectful, but don't want to face any consequences. It's as if somehow the phrase "Just Saying" will magically make me not want to be upset.

One of my biggest pet peeves is people who see nothing wrong with spending hours on the couch watching movies or shows, but judge someone for spending that same amount of time playing video games.
You can spend your whole evening watching a series and call it relaxing. But if I spend mine interacting with what’s on the screen, making decisions, solving problems, exploring, or competing, suddenly there’s concern about what I’m doing with my life.
So watching a screen for four hours is normal entertainment, but actively engaging with one for four hours is somehow a moral failure?
I guess I could resolve everyone’s concerns about my future by putting down the controller and letting Netflix ask if I’m still alive.

Okay, so like I said in the title, this is where I live, I know in lots of places in the world and other communities and cultures that when someone says
6pm, you're supposed to be there at 6pm
But where I live if someone says 6pm they actually mean 6:45 or 7 or 8 or even 9!
They don't actually want you to come at 6, they want you come anytime between 45 minutes and 2 hours late
It drives me insane, I'm a very punctual person and I consider being late (without a valid reason like car troubles or something else genuinely out of your control) to be the height of rudeness
To me, the most respectful thing you could do when someone is being hospitable and hosting an event is to be on time to show you value their time and respect when they want you to be there since they're the one doing the work planning and hosting it
The fact that they want you to be late is the stupidest thing in the world, don't say something you don't mean just communicate upfront

Working in corporate or really any job for that matter. This happens all the time. I'm not trying to come here and say I'm some business genius with immense foresight. But when you are the person actually doing the job, and not just supervising, you really see things management doesn't.
Me: Hey, just letting you know. Because of A, B will happen. We should be doing C to prevent this.
Management: I appreciate the concern but we will continue with our current process
A month later when we are backed up and falling behind and the small issue has become a big issue when it didn't need to
Management: Alright everyone, effective immediately, we will be implementing C. And we need some people to work over time to make up for the issue doing A has caused over the last month.

I hate when I say I’ve got it and the person I’m with makes a big scene in front of the waiter / cashier about paying. Like when they get their credit card out and actively try to shove it in the cashier’s face.
At that point I just let them to have the situation end because I used to be a cashier and it would annoy the hell out of me when this happened and then it was awkward on who’s card I would end up taking.
To make it worse some people expect this behavior??? I was talking to someone recently and she said she and her family are offended if they offer to pay and the other person doesn’t do this big song and dance about it.
My god. If someone offers to pay for me, i say “Are you sure ? I can venmo you” and if they say they’re sure, i say “thank you!” And then get the next one. Omfg it’s not that difficult

This peeve comes in all sorts of shapes and forms, and it really gets on my nerves. I don't particularly care about censorship (generally doesn't matter to me if something is censored or not), but the way certain things get censored is so distracting and invasive that it starts to detract from my overall enjoyment of the medium.
One big example of this, for me in particular, is the really loud base-boosted static sound a lot of content creators use to censor profanity. Maybe it's because I grew up in the era of bleeps, but it feels so out of place that I immediately get dragged out of whatever is going on.
Another major example of this is the "light of god", as I like to call it, in anime and manga. Instead of using clothing, hair, water, a prop, another character, or steam to censor private parts, nope, let's use a completely random blinding, opaque, white ray of light from the heavens in the one exact spot needed to cover the character up, and nowhere else! At least its better than the dreaded black box, though that one is in a league of its own awfulness.
I can't really say why exactly this annoys me as much as it does, but for whatever reason, these kinds of censorship methods just annoy me to no end.

I get really annoyed when people misspell my first name. It’s a common name but does have about 4 different spelling variations.
However, I’m not talking about when I just tell someone my name like at a fast food restaurant. If I don’t spell it for them & they get it wrong, then that’s how it goes. It’s not that important.
I’m talking about email or text correspondence where you have seen my name spelled out on your phone, tablet, computer, what have you. In running my business, I end my text or email with my name. It is right there for you to see, acknowledge & take note. When you respond back with my name spelled incorrectly, it is a level of laziness & inattentiveness that I can’t understand.
My name is important to me, it’s part of my identity & family history. Your name should be important to you. Have some respect & spell someone’s name right.

Like people who say I do such and such for a living but then it’s actually like 3 hours a week or sporadic gigs ? SMH I feel like this is very normalized in LA . It’s not the fact that they don’t need to work that is particularly bothersome but that they put on an impression that this is how they supplement their lifestyle when it’s actually largely inflated. For the people who work hard , it kinda feels disingenuous. My main thing is people who purposely hide that they are getting support but still want to have the title of a a job when it’s minimal effort on their part.

Was doing some animals quizzes today, and I knew every animal in every picture but could not for the life of me remember some of the names. It was on the absolute tip of my tongue and I was getting more pissed off by the minute at my stupidity.
Even worse when you recently talked about that particular thing, and feel like an absolute idiot for forgetting it so quickly. With every quiz it just got worse and worse 😭

I find this so annoying! Especially when I am informed of the giveaway contest through email or tiktok or something completely unrelated to Instagram and facebook. Not everyone wants to be part of the "metaverse" or whatever they're calling it these days. Sure I could create a throwaway instagram account for giveaways, but everyone should have equal opportunity to enter regardless of what social media they participate in.

Every time I’m out with friends, or even here if I say I don’t like Lobster, crab, or what basically amounts to popular food someone says “It’s because you haven’t had it made by a Massachusetts resident whose family has been there since they landed on Plymouth Rock”. When it’s more simple. I don’t like it, I don’t like the taste, I feel it’s a waste of money for what you get, and overall it’s just too much for so little.
I don’t say the same to people who say they don’t like a specific food, that’s their bag and they have their reasons and it’s probably along my same line of thinking.

I’ve always been really passionate about space travel and astronomy my whole life and I’m always so impressed by the photographs that have been taken whether it be from the surface of mars or galaxies light years away. Quite literally mind blowing.
However I’ve noticed these past several years that so many people (mostly on social media) just automatically dismiss these findings as fake. Even if there’s an explanation of how it’s composed of many images put together or color corrected to make these images visible to the human eye, they think this is somehow proof that it’s photoshopped and not actually real. But what they don’t understand is that the raw data needs to be processed in order for us to even see it.
Yeah…let’s just completely ignore the work that astronomers have literally poured their whole lives into studying these things and making it possible to see for the public.
I know a lot of people saying this are probably just trolling to some degree but it theres still plenty who genuinely think that nothing you see is real unless it’s literally right in front of you, despite being backed by scientific evidence.
Obviously we should be aware of misinformation online but damn…media literacy and critical thinking has just gone out the window and it’s genuinely disappointing.
