Help/सहयोग URGENT: My 73-year-old Hajurbuwa has been missing since yesterday from Lalitpur Mahalaxmi-6, Siddhipur.

I’m posting this with a desperate hope that someone might have seen my Hajurbuwa or could help us find him. My Hajurbuwa is around 73 years old and is from Khadbari, Sankhuwasabha. He had come all the way from our village to our home to put Dashain tika on us. We had recently built a new house, and this was actually his first time visiting our new home.

Yesterday, on Nawami, we had a small family gathering at home. We all ate together, and afterward, everyone was occupied with different things. My Baba had gone to drop off one of my uncles, some of my other uncles were chatting at home, and my Mamu and kaki haru were serving tea and had stepped outside for a little walk. I was playing cards with my cousins.

At around 3 PM, my Hajurbuwa went outside for a walk. At the time, none of us thought anything unusual would happen.

Even though he is 73, my Hajurbuwa is incredibly sharp, alert, and active. He is used to walking around our village and can walk long distances. He has an excellent memory and remembers the routes he has taken. He has never gone missing like this, which is why none of us imagined something like this could happen.

When he still hadn't returned after around 4 PM, we started getting worried and searching for him. We tried calling his phone once or twice, but there was no answer. When we called a third time, his phone was switched off.

Since yesterday at around 4 PM, our entire family has been desperately searching for him, but we still haven't been able to contact him.

He does not drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, or consume any intoxicating substances. We have no idea what could have happened.

Today is Dashami. He came all this way just to give us tika, and today, all of us are sitting here with empty foreheads, waiting for him to come home. I cannot explain how painful it is to think that he travelled so far to bless us for Dashain, but now we don't even know where he is or whether he is safe.

DESCRIPTION:

  • Age: Around 73 years old
  • From: Khadbari, Sankhuwasabha, Nepal
  • Last seen: Yesterday, around 6:11 PM, near Lalipur Sankhadevi (Thapagaun)
  • Approximate time we realised he was missing: Around 4 PM
  • Clothing: He was wearing the same clothes shown in the attached photo when he left.

PLEASE, if anyone in nearby areas has seen him, heard anything, or knows someone who might have encountered him, please contact us immediately. Even the smallest piece of information could help us find him.

Please share this post with people. If you know anyone who lives there, please send this post to them. Please help us bring our Hajurbuwa home.

Namaste and Happy Dashain everyone!

I’m a farmer in Croatia. Over the last few years, I’ve gotten to know a few Nepali guys working nearby. They work incredibly hard, but I know they miss home—especially during Dashain.

They couldn't get work off for the holidays, but on Sunday (Maha Ashtami) they took a few hours to cook a big meal together, and they invited me to join.

Around here, local stores only sell basic spinach. A couple of months ago, I planted some Rayoko Saag (रायोको** **साग) on my farm just for them. I brought a fresh batch over for Sunday's meal, and they were happy!

Sending warm wishes to everyone celebrating! Shubha Dashain!

Question/प्रश्न Is it inauspicious to receive tika from my sister on both Dashain and Bhai Tika if they fall in the same month?

• Upvotes

My sister put tika on my forehead during Dashain yesterday, but my father said she shouldn't put tika on me again during Bhai Tika because both festivals fall in the same month. Is there any Nepali cultural or religious belief behind this, or is it just a family tradition? Has anyone else heard of this?

Post image
• Upvotes

Anyone know of a good place in Kathmandu where kids can learn wall climbing?

Looking for proper training/ classes rather than just a one-time activity.

Would love to hear from anyone whose kids are already doing it ----where do they go, and how is the experience?

Any leads would be great...

Thanks in advance

Discussion/बहस Made a free browser party game for Dashain gatherings: Ludo, Carrom, Falas on your phones

Disclosure: this is my own project.

I built Jhamela (https://jhamela-party.vercel.app), a free party-games site for nights when everyone is gathered around one TV. One screen hosts (a laptop plugged into the TV works), and everyone joins from their own phone by typing a 4-letter code. No app and no sign-up.

There are 18 games right now, including Ludo, Carrom, Falas (Teen Patti), Snakes and Ladders, Last Card, Blackjack, Memory Match, Marble Race, Bomb Pass, Who Said That, Imposter Room and Bluffopedia.

Still rough in places, so honest feedback is welcome. What games do you play during Dashain?

Question/प्रश्न Is this legal to give estimates in stead of the bill ? NSFW

Post image
2 Upvotes

I visited this restaurant called pizza something today

I ordered for food and they gave me this.. to wait at the table

They called once the food is ready and brought the food to the table

I paid the bill when this was printed at the counter. When making the order it's pay first

Greek service. Great food... Okay place.. all in all I would say good enough..

My question is there were about few customers during 1-hour session..

I was planning to use this as an expenses in the office

But I realized it says please collect tax invoice from counter once collecting and verifying your order..

I don't think any of these few hundred people are doing or collecting the vat bill..

I'm not against paying tax or not paying tax

I pay my taxes and VAT...

And when I see businesses doing this openly using this loophole I wonder what the government and the tax people are doing...

Do they do know what's going on or they are they ignoring it ?

There's so much financial, cultural, geographical (bla bla bla) diversity in Nepal.

What's life like in Nepal for you? What sort of lifestyle do you lead? What sort of privileges / facilities do you have?

Just curious what type life people lead here.

Even when the moon is only half full, it still shines in the dark. A quiet reminder for tonight.

The world is finally quiet tonight. Looking up at this golden half-moon in the dark sky brought so much calm to my mind.

No matter how loud, stressful, or tiring your day was, the night always comes to give us rest. Let go of your worries for tonight. Look at the sky, take a slow breath, and trust that tomorrow is a brand new start.

May your night be as peaceful as this sky. Sleep well, everyone!

Whenever life feels heavy, I look at nature.

Look at how calm the lake is, and how the tall snow mountain shines quietly above the clouds. It does not rush. It does not worry. It just stands strong and peaceful.

Sharing this view from Pokhara with everyone here today. I hope it gives your eyes a rest and brings a warm, peaceful feeling to your soul. Stay strong and keep smiling.

Question/प्रश्न Where are Nepali Gamers? (Not online multiplayer games)

Sidha kura. Where are Nepali Gamers?

And I'm not talking about people who play valorant, pubg, freefire, mlbb on loop. Nothing against them though.

I'm looking for a community of Nepali gamers who mostly explore single player games, campaigns, story-driven games. Stuff like souls games, Resident Evil, Zelda, GOW, Mario, GTA, Remedy-Games, Kojima-Games, doesn't matter if its PS5 or Switch or PC or XBOX. You get what I'm saying.

Please, if someone knows of any community, let me know.

Travel/यात्रा Dashain Break | Ama Yangri Trek

Planning a little adventure this Dashain! Anyone interested in joining me for an Ama Yangri trek is most welcome.

Ride: Solo ride to Chanaute–Timbu, where I’ll join the group.
Stop: Enjoy a refreshing natural swim in the Melamchi River at Timbu.

Night 1: Overnight stay at Ama Yangri Base Camp.
Day 2: Catch the sunrise, explore Ama Yangri, and head back.

A solo ride is great, but good company makes the journey even better. If this adventure sounds like your kind of Dashain getaway, feel free to join or catch up with me along the way!

Less planning, more exploring. Let’s make this Dashain memorable!

Rant/गुनासो Ahhh I want to visit Kathmandu so badly

Post image
94 Upvotes

Ahhhh man I am so restless and want to visit kathmandu so badly that ahhh it physically hurts. Now you must be wondering why i want to visit kathmandu so badly and maybe even who i am. Well i am actually from west part of india. The thing is that i grew up in a toxic fucked up home it was really traumatizing and tbh heartbreaking that no one loved me or cared for me or even gave me attention. Hell they didnt even give me food and once even tried to end me. Ig you get a rough idea of my house now ig. So well what happens to a child who doesnt get love or forget love not even attention from home that child searches for it outside. Thats what i did and ended up loving the wrong people which traumatized tf out of me and then i desperately needed a father. i had seen once a post of baba (as they say father in my language ) kaal bhairava. That too the smiling one of kathamandu and i accepted him as my father cause i was desperate and ahhh most importantly baba accepted me too hehe. He has healed me a lot. So yeah ahhh now i want to come from all the way from west india to kathmandu just so i can see him ahhh kinda gonna be a long journey from west india to kathmandu but hehe no journey for baba is too long and hehe when i meet him i will probably wave my hand excitedly and giggle like a little kid and say “baba i am here hehe”. Take a photo so that if i forget or cant remember anything i still have that photo of him which i can always come back to hehe. ahhh I once saw a photo of a girl standing on smt and giving him a flower. Ahh well if they will allow me to get close to him and touch him i will gently and lovingly caress his cheek and hehe maybe even give him a kiss on his cheek or forehead.

.
Ahh btw the happy news is that i am finally moving out of my toxic abusive household so hehe will try to earn money and also focus a bit on healing. Then i got to get the passport cause i heard they wont let anyone in without passport or election id card so yeah. I hope i can meet him before the year ends hehe.

Btw if I offended any of you I sincerely apologise that was never my intention

Anyways thank you all for reading this. Hope you have a really lovely day. Lots of Love from India

And btw if you are too stuck in toxic household dont worry things will get better and you will leave too. I believe in you.

Once again lots of love from India
