REC 2K Has the Worst Community in All of Gaming

I play video games a lot. More then most people and I play all kinds of games. I have played 2k, Rust, Dayz, Cod, and was even a top 500 Overwatch player at one point. No community even comes close to the toxicity of 2K. I have never seen any other online video game where people will actively join games to purposely sell their teammates. Playing squads with a random duo is awful. 90% of the duos literally play buddy ball and ice out everyone else, and then blame you for losing.

This year might be the least fun I have ever had playing 2K, and I would be lying if I said the community and randoms weren't a huge part of it. Every online game has bad teammates, but at least in other games they actually are trying to win. 2K players throw a fit the second they get missed on one single possession.

Discussion I see where big man hate is coming from bro

To put shii in context: I play as 6'2 PG, basically me (when I was young) for last since forever. I take all kinds of shit as a pg over the years but it is what it is It's my shii.

This year my Eras save breaks so 2K fucks me to start from scratch and because I had bunch of VC collected I decide to make a dynamic shooting 6'11 PF defense monster. I have hella fun playing big.

But bro... yall guards all think you're shii don't you. Bros give you 2 shots and if you by any means miss, they proceed to take 20 dumb shots like it's nothing. Not to mention being open in the paint and not getting the ball. Y'all should be ashamed being named playmaker, a PiiiGiiii. Damn!

Gameplay Game 6 Klay? My thoughts after my first 20 REC Games

Thoughts on the Game 6 Klay build through my first 20 games.... Keep in mind I have no team, and ALL of my games in 27 have been in random REC.... but.....

I think its really good at its role, but it can't be a 2BH as SG. That said, It's a 6'7" build, so in Random REC, its often forced down to the SF. You can cap pass to 80, BH to 80, SWB to 75. But that's not going to be enough. I've guarded PG's with it, you won't get plucks like a true lock, but you can't force them to pass it, and if they shoot near you with hands up, its almost always a heavy contest. I capped the Block and Interior Def to round out those holes in his attributes.

On offense, the 88 layup is enough to cut with if you know how to read the backside help and kick it, or read the bait and beat your man to the rack. The shooting is obvious, its absolutely lights out shooting. With Legend Set and Fire and Legend Deadeye badges on a 99 3 ball 6'7" build, its really good. If they give you an inch, its a 3. If they press, you can get to a 1 or 2 dribble pull up. I'm using Push, but setting the jumper to a very specific way, you can see in the photo below. The visual cue for release is when his hands flatten out near the side of his head, and i put it to full speed to get it off as fast as possible, and its been chicken.

My next 5 caps are all going to speed to take it from 77-82, as that seems to be the last real thing it truly needs. Anything else is just extra. I only have 6 as of now, and the defense caps i mentioned earlier were more vital for now. All in all, its a dope build in the right hands, but if you are a dribbler or rim runner, more than a spot up that can dex, its not for you. But it fits my play style great.

I did not find any good face creation vids for Klay, they are all really bad. So i tried it myself. Took a long time to get as close as I could with what we have. If you want a quick face creation video of what I made, lemme know below, and ill drop a quick vid for it exclusively for this reddit.

Gameplay close shot is so bad you have no choice but to pump fake and bait multiple times

for a measly 2 point, you have to bait multiple time until defender had no more adrenaline before you can score :)

if you dare to try to score after defender eat the first pump fake (he's in the air) , he's gon contest your slow ass layup that you started when he was in the air.

Just pump fake a guy 2 times , go in front of him , did standing dunk input (but doesnt dunk you know , otherwise it wouldn't be funny) , the guy came from the air and STRAIGHT teleport elbow hand into my shoulder , heavy contest

Just curious if you do and what your results are like, cause I’ve been testing it and I kinda like it, as well as ease on hop jumpers and different moving animations

Dozens of instances like this. You have a teammate right at the rim and they brick the layup or miss the dunk. Paint scoring is so atrocious this year that Giannis does not play like Giannis

The frustrating thing is I enjoy the gameplay of this 2k. It just feels that the game does not reward you for finding good shots at times with how often the cpu outside of trace misses.

Not even playing on a high difficulty. It is All Star

Gameplay Not buying next year

2K27 is actually so trash 😭 all I ever go against is 99 dunk with 93+ strength. The 1s court isn’t even fun anymore, and the park is full of straight-up cheaters 💀

Gameplay Mike Wang can you please make this game more balanced next year?

Mike Wang, I know your team have abandoned 27 to start on 28 so can we please get more consistent shooting fouls in the Rec next year? Why do shooters get foul calls when someone swipes at them, but nothing when a defender jumps into them and takes them out at the three-point line?

Other attributes need to matter as much as shooting attributes do, too. How does my GOAT Magic with HOF post badges struggle to post-spin a 5'11" guard with 25 strength unless I have Takeover? Meanwhile, they can green shots from halfway without their takeover. Make it make sense.

It works in MyCareer and Street Kings, but as soon as I go online, it feels like going left and right before jacking up a three is the only effective playstyle. There should be room for different builds and ways to play.

REC I Feel Like I Am Forced to Play PG Every Game

I am not the best PG in the world, but my god, I am so much better then most of the randoms I get. I made a score first SG, and I am literally never put in any kind of positions to score when I play that build because the only time I get the ball is with 3 seconds left on the shot clock. I win nearly every game on my PG despite only averaging 13 points per game simply because I keep the ball moving throughout the offense. The game is really not hard guys.

Gameplay This game is still so terrible

I thought after a minor break from online the game would be better/more fun boy I was wrong silly me to expect 2k to make anything for fun lmao also love to see that team balancing is still non existent 🤣🤣🤣

MyCAREER How did you guys learn to shoot consistently with no meter?

I’ve played 2K for years, mostly offline, and always considered myself a pretty good shooter. This year I’ve gotten into MyCareer and online play, but I cannot seem to figure out shooting consistently.
I’ll practice in MyCourt with online settings and shoot great, but as soon as I hop into Rec or Theater, I’m terrible. The frustrating part is my misses aren’t consistently early or late. They’re all over the place.
I understand visual cues like Push and Release, but I struggle to recognize the exact moment to let go during games.
My biggest question is, what actually triggers you guys to release the button? Are you consciously watching your player’s hands every shot, or does it eventually become muscle memory?
How long did it take you to become consistent, and what helped you the most? I don’t mind putting in the practice, I just want to make sure I’m doing it right.
