What do you think about the privacy concerns and shouldn't we invest in educating the parents. Kids will most likely use their parents IDs or fake IDs

Discussion When did this opinion get so popular?

Post image

Do you agree with the midwits who believe some people don’t deserve democracy? When did we decide that the answer to ignorance is exclusion rather than education? If people are too illiterate to make informed decisions, isn’t that a failure of the society that raised them? It’s easier to silence people than to teach them, easier to abandon them than to understand them. But a society that gives up on educating its people will eventually need to give up on its freedom, too. And when the time comes, who will be left to decide that you deserve a voice?

AskMorocco Whats life like on ~27k MAD net a month in Casablanca?

Hey everyone,

I got a job offer in Morocco and would like to know what kind of lifestyle could I expect in Casablanca on 27k MAD net per month? I’m married, no kids, and my wife doesn’t work.

Would that be enough to rent a decent place, have a car, go out sometimes, and still save a bit?

Thanks for your answers!

Discussion Isreal suspend their airlines to Morocco

Israeli charter airline Arkia has suspended ticket sales from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport to Marrakech, Morocco, until further notice, following a similar move by rival Israir earlier this month.

The freeze comes as new security directives are expected to apply to flights operated by Arkia and Israir using leased foreign aircraft and crews, in the wake of last month’s terror attack on a flydubai airliner traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv

Education Used French to learn English years ago, but now my English is fluent and my spoken French is totally stuck. Any advice?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for some advice on how to improve my spoken French. It's kind of ironic because I actually used French as a stepping stone to learn English in the first place, but now my English is completely fluent while I really struggle to actually speak French.

Reading and listening are okay, but when it comes to outputting it or having a conversation, my brain just freezes up

Since French was my foundation, I feel like the passive knowledge is definitely in my head somewhere. And I know practice is what makes me fluent but idk if its enough. Has anyone else dealt with this? How to bridge the gap between understanding French and speaking it fluently?

Thanks!

I should've learnt more basic common french/arabic phrases before I visited here for a holiday.

I just wish I didn't get laughed at by some of the men here when I struggled to communicate.

Discussion Democracy, Moroccan Edition: Your Vote Is Worth Less Than a Headline?

Post image
• Upvotes

Someone allegedly gets caught putting pre-crossed ballots into a ballot box, yet where is the outrage? Where is the relentless media coverage?

What would happen if the same thing happened in France, Germany, or the Netherlands? Would it be treated as a minor news story, or would the entire country demand answers?

And what does it say about us when alleged electoral fraud competes for attention with almost anything else?

But perhaps we should look in the mirror, too.

What do we expect from democracy when some citizens sell their votes for a few banknotes, while others refuse to vote at all because “nothing ever changes”?

How can we complain about politicians we never tried to hold accountable? How can we demand better representation while treating our own political responsibility as worthless?

Maybe the system benefits from our cynicism. Maybe every vote sold and every ballot abandoned makes accountability a little easier to avoid.

So, be honest: Did you vote in the last elections? If not, why? And if you did, do you believe your vote actually mattered?

Travel Help me explore

I’ve been moving between the coast from Essouira to Agadir this month and I have another week before I fly home from Agadir.

I want to reach mirleft and Legzira beach before I leave but I don’t think I need the whole week there. I’ve been really impressed by Morrocco, and although the coast is more touristic than I imagined, both locals and travellers have been friendly. I regret not renting a car and towns such as Tarudant or the mountains/desert seem hard to reach without.

Anyway I’m not sure what to do with the rest of my time here as I’ve already been to Taghazout/imsouane. So any suggestions on how to use my time to explore beautiful Morocco are welcome :)

Travel Visiting Agadir during ramadan

Hello, me and my friends are visiting Agadir in late february and unfortunately didn’t until today think about ramadan.

I am wondering if it’s still possible to eat in restaurants during the day, and what about supermarkets

we were thinking about ordering an Airbnb but maybe our best bet is finding a hotel resort for tourists?

I am also wondering what the rules for alcohol and smoking cigarettes is.

I don’t mean to be insensitive but we really didn’t know ramadan was gonna be the couple days we were there and i just need some insight on what we have to expect and how to act

Society Looking for Curious Minds

Heyyy 👋

I’d like to meet some people who share similar interests and enjoy having genuine conversations.

I’m into psychology, philosophy, geopolitics, human nature, true crime, science, fantasy books, spirituality (I’m non-religious), fragrances, spirituality and pretty much anything interesting enough to send me down a rabbit hole.

I enjoy exchanging ideas, discovering new perspectives, talking about random things, and going from deep conversations to laughing about something completely stupid 😂

I’d also love to have some genuine, supportive people around people who can be themselves, support each other, and just enjoy having a good connection.

If any of this sounds like you, feel free to say hey

AskMorocco can anyone here remember the moroccan sitcom lalla fatima?

i’ve been revisiting it lately and looking into how people reacted to it when it originally aired esp the third season, and i’d love to hear what people who watched it back then thought about it
did you like it? did you think it got worse after the first season? and does anyone remember the discussions or controversies surrounding it at the time?
i’m really interested in how moroccans perceived the show back then, not just how we look back on it today

Travel Salam Alaykum. Me (28F) and my husband (32M) are travelling to Marrakech and I have travel anxiety and feel nervous that we’re visiting a country where no one knows us.

I have read so many good and bad things about Marrakech but I choose to look past those and visit the beautiful city. However it would be nice just to know someone local and genuine who would be happy to just stay in touch and feel like a friend. I’m sorry I know this request is so weird but I do feel very anxious/nervous
