Hello all. We would like to add some clarifications to what is and isn't allowed on yard sale Sundays. We want to save everyone time, so please read carefully and ask any clarifying questions below so we can clear them up for everyone.

Please note all posts are subject to removal per moderator discretion. Posts are considered advertisement even if they are not direct advertisement (discord servers which offer such services on the side, free trials, etc)
Please ensure you use the correct flair when posting (Yard Sale Sundays). Any threads of a promotional nature posted other than Sunday will be removed and you will be instructed to repost when appropriate.
*Reselling for a profit is strictly prohibited
**Applications which are directly relevant to McMaster may receive exception at moderator discretion, provided they are free to use, generally helpful, and collect no personal information.

Thank you.

We are once more seeing an uptick of admissions-related questions for 2026. Please post any admissions/ program related questions in this megathread and engage with other questions in here.
Standalone posts asking admissions questions will be removed and the OP will be asked to search and post within this thread and the prior 2025 Admission Megathread.

Somebody must have with the amount of signage they have on them. Literally every microwave has a "don't put metal in here" sign.

pay thousands to go here and can't find anywhere decent during the day
we need AT LEAST 1 more full sized multi floor library
also less sterile lighting / natural lighting / not overheated / more quiet spaces

i didnt study over the reading week and now im so cooked. I have stats thurs and psych fri but im gonna have to msaf stats. my mental health has been in the gutters were its just hard to focus on studying because I start doubting my future career plan and if this is actually useful for my future. then i start scrolling linkedin and I feel even more shit about fuckass life sci. Im second year honors life sci and I stopped being a premed. i just feel so hopeless and confused. I never even chose my program, i picked it bc my mom wanted me to be a doctor (asian-chinese parents).
Over the reading week I did coffee chats with people but i feel like it just makes me doubt my current program even more. I also just feel so broke (partly bc of my families finances-inherited scarcity mindset ) ive resorted to eating my roomates leftover food expired food+i smts steal food from campus. but also those food on campus are so unhealthy and cause me to binge eat.
Plus my rental house has shit heating and i run cold, so its hard for me to fall asleep and I wakeup super early in the morning bc im freezing.
I also got a part time job on campus recently but im scared i cant balence it bc of my reading week screw up.
i feel like my friends are withdrawing themselves from me bc im not a fun person to be around anymore... like they can feel my stress and anxiety. My friend literally told me "all u talk about is how to make money, or being a premed, or your career" (but he's a nepo rich international student so he can afford to say shit like that)
I just feel so horrible rn.
i just wish i could go back to first year were everything felt hopeful and money wasnt an issue. I was working out and losing weight. I feel like a fat fucking chud with no direction. Why cant i just believe in myself and trust the process like everyone else around me??

If my friend saw me wearing a shirt from Stratford, Ontario and assumed I was on Stratford, is she using inductive or deductive reasoning?
We’re arguing at this current moment, please help.

Guys I discovered the brand of Thode garlic bread sticks and I just wanted to spread the word. They are the “Furlani breadstick Parmesan” because I saw them restocking it. I know people have been wondering (people being me).

Im a first year student and I wanna hear some stories from upper years about how they were able to recover after getting a bad grade in first year. Whether it was a test or assignment how did you pick yourself back up and improve. I’m lowkey finding myself struggling with the adjustment to uni and want to know what you guys did to improve. My strategy in highschool was to always aim for a 100 on everything so that no matter what happens I land near that number….but lowkey I’ve been landing in the 70’s as of rn with all these midterms. Please can someone tell me it gets better after midterms 🙏

Idk why but maybe it’s because I have only two midterms this sem I feel like I should be doing really well on this one. I’m scared that if I mess up it would be so dumb like it’s not like I’m actually busy with other midterms so it would be such wasted potential if I don’t do my best on it ykw yadadada

Hi! I am a new student at McMaster and need a doctor to refill prescriptions and things like that. My previous doctor at my old school was super open, understanding, patient, and respectful. I want to find another doctor like that and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the doctors on the SWC medical care team?
If so which would you recommend/not recommend?
Thank you :)

This might be stupid but will there be any difference between fully erase an answer then choose a new one and cross out an answer with "X" then choose a new one when we are changing answers on the Scantron? Or both will be accepted? Thanks!

My midterm is tomorrow and I understand only a few chapters. How was the midterm for Business Environment and Organization in the past? Is there anything I should focus on specifically?? I need help asap😅

I feel like my mind is being blown up
I’m in electrical engineering and second year and:
-I have 2 midterms next week I’m trying to speed study for (the C course has a practical exam and a theoretical one)
-2 big ahh midterms (circuit analysis and logic design) the week after and have like 40 lectures of content to review
- 2 labs that week as well which I need to write the lab reports for
ntm for the practical exam I need to get 1 out of the 2 questions right in order to pass the course (there’s a second attempt at it later in the semester but it’s in C++ and I fr have never seen anything in that language)
I don’t know where it all went wrong like I had a whole calendar and thought I was so on top of things but there’s so much left despite working on assignments and labs and all the other bullshit throughout reading week and since September.
ive never wanted to drop out as much as now ong
why is there so much 😭 second year is so much worse than first year istg
im actually crashing out and feel like crying my eyeballs out like all that work to get into this major and now it’s likely going to shit since I couldn’t finish everything in time. It’s my fault and mine alone. throw a graduation cap in my place folk as my chances to pass this year are next to 0.

im firsty year computer science and i'm a USA citizen and i was wondering if people thought it was worth it.
i dont think i'll get a co-op regardless, i don't really have anything great, but i was wondering if moving to USA for a co-op was worth the additional costs moving to the states for a co-op. i do have some family there but i wouldn't be able to stay for the entire duration of a co-op term
any advice would be really helpful

As the title says, I live on residence and I’m wondering if that makes me eligible to vote. I’m 18 years old and I’d like to vote if I can!

During the second week of classes, I made my professor aware that I had to be absent during the midterm. He told me to talk to the student experience office. I’m in degroote for reference. I talked to them about it and they approved my absence. I told my professor this and he went back-and-forth with me. He said he was not sure if he should reach out to them. I emailed them again and they said he has to reach out. My professor finally scheduled me to write the midterm two days before I come back. I told my professor that I gave you significant time and I showed you my ticket multiple times that I’m travelling during that time. What do I do? I’ve literally tried my best email laying back-and-forth talking to everyone I could advisors and everyone. This course is only offered in the fall semester. The final will be re-weighted and it will be 80%. I really don’t want to do that. Has anyone ever been in a similar situation? I’m really stressed.
