Give cashiers a fucking chair!!!!!

2.2k

u/Ok_Star_4136 May 29 '26

This is normal in Europe. There's literally no reason to make them stand all day.

u/Moobob66 May 29 '26

How else are you gonna make them too tired to revolt?

579

u/VividPerformance7987 May 29 '26

How else are you gonna wear down peoples bodies in order to charge them ridiculous amounts for medicine and surgeries?

And often too tired to stay so they can pay the next schlup even less.

281

u/ripyourlungsdave May 29 '26

But.. they need to remember their place..

Customers are very offended by comfortable workers. And customers in the US need to be allowed to feel superior to the workers.

Like I always say I could look at 5 different people and point out the miserable loser that had made these comments. They always have that miserable look to them.

the death glare i got one time at my low paying retail job, while i was eating on my break while the store was busy. i swear to god it looked like he wanted me dead

29

u/zeracu May 29 '26

In Canada I worked in different places even in a food factory, special dates pay double or triple and others like January 1st the work is optional just the anual cleaning period, and the list of people wanting to go is huge. As they are people wanting to celebrate those dates with the family others without closed relatives around prefer to employ they time doing something, others just don't celebrate those holidays because religion, believe, family in other countries etc.

Oh wow. Whenever I see somebody eating, I apologize and say "I'm not in a hurry, I'll come back." Or something like that. Where the fuck are all these assholes coming from that they don't understand breaks?!!

17

u/Turtleintexas May 30 '26

Oh but they take their breaks at work, let me tell ya! Don't you dare bother them.

9

u/NoVaBurgher May 30 '26

Can confirm. I worked for the state park system where I lived for a summer and had a similar exchange. Guy mumbled something about how he’s not paying taxes for me not to work. I responded with “well, yes actually, you are”. Did not come back the following summer

My elderly coworker literally passed out in my arms and the guy she was serving asked when someone was going to finish his transaction. Thankfully everyone else was cool; two customers jumped behind the register to help me lower her down, one was a nurse and he checked on her while I was calling 911 and then our manager, and the dozen or so other customers were understanding and even made fun of the first dude, to his face and afterwards.

13

u/SloopyDizzle May 30 '26

Waaaay back in the day, we did the same thing at Quiznos. It felt weird eating in the dining room in a uniform at first but realized that it was kind of excellent marketing - the people who make your sandwiches eat them too, so they have to be decent. It was not a shabby place to work as a college kid.

The poor exist so the better off have someone to feel superior to? Sounds like we need to break out the dinner forks and spare plates. "Eat the wealthy!" Now with more vitamins.

Aren’t customers also workers somewhere else?

26

u/askingaqesitonw May 29 '26

Yeah but people like cashiers fast food workers andwait staff are people they can look down on despite being in the same hellish system of exploitation

5

u/polchickenpotpie May 29 '26

Most aren't retail, and those are the ones who complain. Especially stay at home moms and retired old hags.

Source: used to be a supervisor at a grocery store, gave my cashiers chairs and by the end of the day me and my manager had customers telling us the cashiers "looked lazy"

Once got angry customers at Home Depot who were appalled that the employees got lunch breaks. I said "Well, it's 2023 and we aren't living in a Charles Dickens novel, thank God!" I got the dirtiest looks...🙄

In Canada in one of my early jobs, I was having a real bad day standing and asked for a stool at the register. The new shop owners gave me one, but then they told me they had to take it away a few hours later because someone told them I looked unprofessional. Mind you, I was mostly just leaning on it as it was really busy, but that shit pissed me off.

Why is it a stigma? Blood is pooling, pain is happening, why can't we sit? Why did my bosses cave to one mega bitch? Why couldn't the mega bitch mind her business?

They could have lied to me about someone complaining too but that shit stuck with me for my whole life.

32

u/Ok_Star_4136 May 29 '26 edited May 30 '26

There's a very unhealthy mentality that employees are to be treated like trash by employers and I don't honestly understand it. Sometimes the customer *is* wrong. Your boss could have simply and respectfully said that you had medical reasons for staying seated (even if that wasn't strictly true). Everyone deserves respect, that includes customers *and* workers.

5

u/Upsidedowncr0w May 30 '26

God I don't miss Canada for exactly this shit. I've heard this a lot. How do they look unprofessional??? Should people in office jobs be standing as well then? They complain about the dumbest stuff to elevate themselves in their entitlement and shove people in a worse position than them lower.

I lasted only two weeks at a cashier job at a grocery store but always had to stand for years in retail and it gave me vericose veins at like 22:(.

Live in Europe now and love seeing that cashiers can be comfy and have some dignity in an already difficult job.

5

u/abbyabsinthe May 30 '26

At an old job, we had to be really sick/injured to be allowed a chair (the one time I was allowed it, I had just gotten out of urgent care and wasn’t allowed to call in; I didn’t even get to use it when I broke my toe and my whole foot turned purple; I was allowed to wear sandals at least). I now work at the one retail chain in America that’s notable for having their employees sit while they cashier and my sciatic nerve pain has decreased by about 95%. Ofc, there’s always customers who assume that it’s an easy job (as if I didn’t just unload 5-9 7 foot tall pallets before I sat down) because we sit

Aldi's proved it works and does good for employees especially older individuals or those with conditions that keep them from standing for long periods of time.

15

u/IKnewThingsOnce May 29 '26

The are chairs so that the way employees are trained to scan items is more efficient. Use your left hand to swipe the item and throw it toward the cart and your right to catch it. The barcodes are gigantic so that the item scans from any angle. Tell the customer to swipe their card while scanning so that there's no waiting to move them along and get to the next customer because the number of items you scan per hour are a tracked and posted metric like other retail stores track dollars per sale.

If any interaction takes more than a few seconds where you're not actively scanning, you log out of your register so that the time doesn't count against you and your numbers stay above 700ish items per hour which is really the bare minimum so try to get that to 800. No one is just a cashier. If there isn't a line, you're stocking or cleaning while keeping an eye out for customers. My manager actively discouraged talking with co-workers because you might not be working for a whole few minutes. They're checking the cameras and will tell you via walkie to get moving again. The freezer was a good place to stand still and do nothing for a minute since there weren't any cameras there.

Just smile at the customer that comments how great it must be to be able to sit while you work. At least there's no "It must be free" with the giant balconies. And get your kid off the bagging counter. I shouldn't be paying more attention to them than you while also keeping my numbers up.

I was not sad to leave after 2 years when my workers comp was denied because I obviously came into the job with osteoarthritis in my 30s. It was nice to be outside while the sun was out and interacting with my family instead of crashing for two hours between shifts for a "part-time" job.

→ More replies (1)

12

u/AncientSith May 29 '26

Sadly that'll never change as a majority of places because they'd rather you "look productive" more then anything else, while the bosses sit on their ass.

u/Impressive_Recon May 29 '26

When I worked at a grocery store they said cashiers couldn’t have chairs (unless you were medically cleared) because it looked lazy lolol.

91

u/SheHeBeDownFerocious May 29 '26

I fuckin hate this shit cuz it doesn't even only stay in grocers or even just retail. I work a lot of manufacturing positions, I stand at a desk all day and put screws together or smth like that, multiple of my jobs wouldn't let me sit even there for no real reason. Ya know what I did? Sat when my bosses weren't looking, worked less hard because why tf should I drive myself to death for a company that won't even give me a chair, and then quit without warning ASAP after finding a different job because if they're not gonna treat me with respect I won't them.

Ya know what happened when one of them gave me a chair? I legitimately started aspiring to staying there for years and trying to climb the ladder, because treating me like a human being is such a rare occurrence nowadays. I know lots of people would be the same, people are willing to do a whole fuck ton for a company that at least pretends they're humans and not livestock.

5

u/ChrissiTea May 29 '26

Same in my multiple retail jobs, and not having water bottles or other drinks anywhere other than the break room (which you could only visit during your one 20 minute break) because it looked messy... Even under the counter where no one could see. It suuuucked.

6

u/KatDanger May 29 '26

Yeah cause ya know all the customers they’ve lost because no one wants to shop somewhere that lets their employees sit! /s

68

u/Deep_Charge_7749 May 29 '26

Shop at Aldi.

23

u/OriginalFine2689 May 29 '26

The Chilean (my country) "chair law" has over 100 years now. It's one of the first labor laws we had.

14

u/KaiBishop May 29 '26

At my mom's work they had one still behind the counter between two cashier's for them to use for a break here or there.....the new owners took it and got rid of it. Not sitting during your eight hour shift!

15

u/DaKrazie1 May 29 '26

That's the least of her problems. Those dollar store employees are worked to the bone. Probably only have one other co-worker to handle the entire messy store. Lucky if she gets a break.

13

u/KennyBenny999999999 May 29 '26

That’s how they do it in Europe! I remember visiting my grandmother in Slovenia in the 1980s and always admiring the grocery clerks behind the counter in their dress smocks, hair slicked back, wearing wedge-style open-toe sneaker sandals and sitting on swivel chairs, while customers bagged their own groceries.😊

7

Funny thing I saw a yt video where in russoa of all places it's just vustom for cashiers to have a barstool type chair. Idk if that's true or not but the guy went to many stores and it was just natural to them. They didn't seem to care.

Bosses at my place also said stand up and don't slouch when I was young lile it bothers customers but everyone I talked to about it seem like they would not care or support it. It's lile an echo chamber in their heads as if because they did it everybody needs to.

"i have 4 kids who have nothing to do with me"

as a survivor of a narcisisstic mom, i'm side eyeing hard.

913

u/ZiggyLen1225 May 29 '26

This is the comment I was looking for. She also brought up past drug use. I'm thinking her kids childhood was very much like mine, and me and my 3 siblings have nothing to do with our mom either.

456

u/seraph741 May 29 '26

Unfortunately, these types of childhoods/stories are pretty common in the Midwest, especially rural/poorer areas. I know lots of people who would instantly recognize this and have a pretty good idea of what her kids went through. She still deserves dignity and security, and obviously we can't be 100% sure, but yeah...if you know, you know (unfortunately).

27

u/Much-Still1549 May 30 '26

Some people don't deserve to draw breath, let alone have dignity & security. My abuser/torturer sure as hell doesn't. There's definitely a good reason why her entire family is no contact.

34

u/Independent-Fuel-183 May 30 '26

Exactly what I was thinking , of course it sucks that she didn’t have security or retirement and everyone should have a stable future in a utopia, but for all 4 of her children to not want anything to do with her makes me wonder if she didn’t just fuck her own life up plus her kids to some degree.

Because I know for a fact I would help my mother through thick and thin because that woman is a saint.

17

u/Zakatyu May 30 '26

The utopia is called European countries, where people don't go bankrupt because of medical bills, they retire at 65-70 (depending on the country) and have a pension, and where you can't evict (nor cut utilities) and elderly vulnerable person.

Source: I live in Spain, age of retirement is 68 (progressively going up to 70), old people pay cents for their medication, and the minimum pension (the one you get if you didn't work enough in your life) is 600€ a month.

109

u/AdministrativeAd9285 May 29 '26

100%. Lived this too, and all I could think about is what miserable existence did you inflict on those poor kids.

30

u/g_cheeks May 30 '26

That’s fair, and I’m sure she would be the first to admit that she fucked up - but drug use is a coping mechanism to deal with a fucked up world. If you’re poor and every day is a struggle and you’re struggling to get up in the morning because your life is so shit - of course drugs look good

16

u/spanishpeanut May 30 '26

And the part about her heart stopping. I genuinely hope that she is in a better position now, and also have many side eyes about how this situation started.

Just because someone is old doesn’t mean they are sweet or lived nice lives. There are plenty of old assholes.

19

u/aipac125 May 30 '26

My first thought too. It takes a lot for four kids to abandon you. Then she started talking about how she brings a smile to people, and I started picking up that people who actually know her wouldn't say that. I am still glad that she got help and won't die on the street.

355

u/HighDerp May 29 '26

yeah I would have snatched that money back and walked away lol

4 kids don't just abandon a mom unless she did something FUCKED UP for a LOOOONG time.

121

u/Mysterious-Falcon221 May 29 '26

4 kids don't just abandon a mom unless she did something FUCKED UP for a LOOOONG time.

Moms don't always do fucked up stuff. Sometimes they don't have a lot to work with from the beginning, this lady was born in 1950 and her husband died at 45 years old. Life can beat people down to where they can't get back up.

91

u/Katdog272 May 30 '26

All that is true, but those situations don’t typically lead to all your children cutting you out of their lives. That is typically due to a failing of the parent at some point. She could’ve totally turned things around now, but there’s typically a pretty solid reason if all your kids want nothing to do with you.

5

u/biotoper May 30 '26

My mother did the same. I'm so sorry.

122

u/BlueTrainLines666 May 29 '26

Maybe she wasn’t a good mom, maybe she made some mistakes her kids can’t forgive but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t deserve kindness. Shes 75 years old, no one deserves to be homeless especially someone who is working every single day.

→ More replies (11)

64

u/Ilaxilil May 29 '26

I mean true, but no one deserves to be homeless. It shouldn’t fall on the kids though, this should be resolved by social systems.

50

u/ChillGameReviews May 29 '26

That's a massive red flag. I'm in no position to fund my mom's retirement unfortunately, but there is no way she's going to get evicted if I could spend $1,100 to keep a roof over her head.

So how many times have the kids had to jump in and bail this lady out, or how big of a piece of crap is she that 0 out of 4 kids would help out once if they haven't had to many times?

16

u/spanishpeanut May 30 '26

I no longer speak to or have a relationship with my mother because I was her scapegoat from the time I was very young. Before making that decision, I had a conversation with her husband and told him that I would always help if she was even in need of food, shelter, clothing, or medical care. From a distance. I would keep her from eviction by paying the landlord directly. I would send food to her via instacart. I would connect her with someone to assist for medical care, but I’m not getting involved directly with her.

Four kids don’t walk off like this for no reason.

46

u/Subject_Spell_9799 May 29 '26

Thank you! Once she said this I stopped feeling bad for her. There is a reason FOUR of your kids don’t talk to you.

40

u/AngelOfLexaproScene May 29 '26

Yeah I have questions

25

u/Faiths_got_fangs May 29 '26

Partner died of drugs in his 40s. She's probably made mistakes in life or lived a less than "acceptable" life.

The question is, for us as a society, is if that means she deserves to work until she dies or be homeless or if she still deserves dignity? A roof over her head? Enough to eat? Or should she have to work for barely minimum wage until death because of a drug problem 30+ years ago?

My mother was highly problematic. She was mentally ill. She was not a good mom. As an adult, I wanted very little to do with her and she'd earned that. I still did what I could to keep her housed and existing with some dignity until she passed. Because she was a person and you shouldnt have to die on the streets with cancer because you weren't a good enough person.

I've had problems with my mom and I'm the "good one."

Well I can tell you a lot of the problems my siblings have are because of her. They avoid her.

It becomes an issue for me when she forgets that I don't have to listen to her now. And she gets mad at me for problems with others.

You don't get to take things out on me because others are jerks.

21

u/twomemeornottwomeme May 29 '26

This woman seems like she genuinely needs and deserved this help regardless of what exists in her past and I am happy to see that.

Essentially no one has a spotless record, I’m truly sorry that you see this video and the first thing it reminds you of is your own wounds.

Life and our relationships can become the most difficult thing beyond imagining and I hope yours get better.

29

u/rescueandrepeat May 30 '26

My mom was an alcoholic until it killed her. She would get drunk and lash out at me because I reminded her of my father. Her favorite insults were to throw his worse qualities in my face and tell me I was just like him. She would say the most hurtful thing she could think of when she was mad or upset at me.

She was also a sweet, generous, kind, loving person who would give everything she had to a strange to help them. She was a nurse who loved helping people. She was my best friend when she was sober. Everyone loved her.

I cut her many times in my life because her addiction would twist her into the most awful creature. I let her back in when she would start getting a handle on her drinking. I did this for 15 years. The last time I cut her out of my life, I meant it. She died a week later.

All of that to say, if she had gotten sober, she could have been like this lady might be. A former alcoholic who had lost her kids but still was still a good person at heart and who didn't deserve to be homeless and working at 75.

This is not heartwarming. This is 100% dystopian.

The other members of the oppressed working class tax themselves to give a fellow worker the social security she needs, because billionaires that got rich on the work of her and others like her hoards all the wealth WE create.

Don't feel good because you can give another slave a piece of bread. Ask yourself: why are we slaves?

632

u/DexterNormal May 29 '26

“In the last 5 years, billionaire wealth has doubled. Ask yourself if the quality of your life has doubled.” -AOC

113

u/Ok_Star_4136 May 29 '26

Every time a politician talks about the DOW, you should be asking yourself if your life has improved one iota as a result. The DOW helps the top 1%, never you. We should really do something about that by the way..

32

u/jpiro May 29 '26

The DOW helps a lot more than the top 1%, but the overall point still stands. The accumulation of wealth at the top has separated the stock market’s success from that of the workers who staff the companies in it.

Ironically, the billionaire quality of life hasnt doubled either. Their wealth has, but they were already VERY maxed out on quality of life so they are just stealing quality of life from everyone else for the love of the game. You know, demon ship.

EDIT: That was a typo, for "demon shit", but is somehow also still very relevant.

A guy said it was so hyperbolic. I couldn't get him to understand the number of people that die to "politics" (Lack of healthcare, shelter and food) in the US is already massive much less the world. He told me I was being extreme.

(and politics strike everyday. The atom bombs were dropped only twice)

u/Hair_I_Go May 29 '26

I want to hope that’s not the case but possibly. I am a gaming attendant and I have a regular who comes on payday and she told me she’s gone through her retirement because of it and just got a job at a grocery store at 78. She usually spends up to a thousand when she comes. Very sad to watch

Ask yourself: why are we slaves?

That´s the right question to ask. And, what can we do about it? And when?

It can be heartwarming to see this single act of helping another human. But it's definitely not a r/MadeMeSmile moment. It makes me angry, helpless, sad, but mostly angry. A drop from the bucket of wealth these billionaires hold would change the lives of many people in her place, but this minority chooses to avoid paying their fair share of taxes and they keep amassing, they keep hoarding, and keep taking so much money from everyone else that it makes life hard for the majority.

Keep voting against billionaires. Stop fighting over religion, culture, and personal beliefs. Get your priorities straight. Now more than ever with AI taking over, we need to unite against them. They're gradually crushing our spirits, limiting our time by keeping us busy working to be able to survive the crushing weight of the economic crisis that is now the status quo. A pandemic, a war, terrorists, immigrants, it's one problem after another, shifting out focus away from them.

Don't give up. Don't let them win.

When the government doesn't care about you...

48

u/Ok_Star_4136 May 29 '26

The government doesn't care about anyone. It's just that the ones who are the worst off are hit the hardest.

8

u/Firm-Scientist-4636 May 29 '26

Oh, it does care about some people. It'd just that the people they care about have the money to pay them to care about them and not us.

4

u/tactman May 29 '26

the government doesn't care any about any individual but the government policies indicate who the government cares about. tax rates have been declining for the top 50% earners and tax rates have been going up for the bottom 50% earners and it has been this way for decades. Translation - the government favors the extra wealthy people. Our elected representatives are doing this - the ones we vote into government. System is a failure.

I live in a California county where the cost of living is now very high. 2 seniors I knew killed themselves recently. They both left notes indicating their reasons were financial- ground down by inflated prices and puny social security checks. And no wish to burden loved ones.

15

u/LaughingOutLoudAgain May 29 '26

Oh my that is so sad. How is that possible in such a rich country 😢

18

u/NeoSuperconductivity May 29 '26

It's unconscionable. Food prices are outrageous, as is gas. They could have moved to another part of the US where rents and such are less expensive, but they both lived here all of their lives. Moving in their 70's just wasn't manageable for them.

3

u/LaughingOutLoudAgain May 30 '26

So they decided to do that together? Wow

14

u/NeoSuperconductivity May 30 '26

No, they were acquainted tho, and did it separately, couple months apart. Suicide often has an unintentional domino effect, sadly.

6

u/LaughingOutLoudAgain May 30 '26

NOOOO that’s even more sad 😭

116

u/PennieTheFold May 29 '26

Regardless of her circumstances and why she’s alone at this stage of her life: I hope that $213k came in the form of a trust, with the phone number of a financial adviser.

Handing someone vulnerable that much cash—likely more than she’s ever had at once on her life—is pretty much akin to lighting it on fire, statistically. If she doesn’t blow it herself, there will be any number of leeches who crawl out of the woodwork with their hands open.

That’s a pretty pessimist view, I understand. But it’s pragmatic. I hope the money helps her keep secure housing for the rest of her life but I can’t help but be skeptical that she’ll have (or had) much of it left five years later.

Not saying she’s a bad person now but if your 4 kids don’t want anything to do w you, best you can do is dollar tree, and her husband died from drugs. This chick was a nightmare when she was younger. Sorry yall im in a bad mood today

161

u/MichelleCS1025 May 29 '26

Exactly, maybe she sobered up but it takes a lot to regain that trust.

316

u/MagpieKaz May 29 '26

No, I'm in a good mood and I agree. I always side eye the parent when kids want nothing to do with them, but FOUR kids and NONE of them want to have anything to do with them? Parent is the problem, I'm willing to bet my life savings.

215

u/Snuggle_Pounce May 29 '26

Well I’m in a Tired Mood and I don’t think anyone should be homeless or hungry no matter if they have good relationships with their family or not.

I am sensing she is a gambling addict. It would explain the missed rent even though she's working (every day for 2 years straight) and her kids not wanting anything to do with her.

And they just gave her 250k.

She's gonna blow it all and off herself at the end of it.

9

u/Ilaxilil May 29 '26

I doubt that establishment pays her a living wage. There are definitely people who work and are homeless because they just aren’t paid enough. I also wonder if she’s physically able to work a full 40 hours a week.

20

u/Easy_Passenger_9817 May 29 '26

That’s exactly where my mind went! Why do her kids want nothing to do with her? Children generally go through endless hoops to try and work things out with their dysfunctional parents. You have to convince them to walk away because they’re always chasing their parent’s love. So what happened between this sweet old lady and her kids? I want to hear their side.

28

u/Ntroepy May 29 '26

There’s also a beauty in helping others who are suffering without judgement.

Can we finally take the fkn recources of this world and share it fair so no one has to encounter situations like this? As beautiful it is to see Videos like this, im sick of having to see videos like this.

Damn it makes me angry what kind of a civilizatory shithole our species made out of this possible paradise we call earth.

11

u/Imawildedible May 29 '26

It would be so easy for our society to make sure this never happens. We have the resources.

8

u/0rganicMach1ne May 29 '26

100

u/LullabyThBrezsWhispr May 29 '26

Why is this person hanging a belief in god over her? That has nothing to do with it, god didn’t go to work everyday at 75 for over two years on her behalf. She did

23

u/Pls_PmTitsOrFDAU_Thx May 29 '26

Yes that took me out and made me look at this properly and not emotionally. Outside of this being dystopian...

Why record it? There's a reason. My guess is the person is trying to push their religion. Why else ask "do you believe now?" And what else is she supposed to say other than yes? And for people who watch this, I think the goal is to get them thinking the same

Lastly as others commented, if you have 4 kids and none of them want to help you, it says something. I was thinking of my mom was in this situation.. I would help. If she WANTS to work when she's 75 that's another thing. Don't telly parents but I have a full emergency fund that covers my own expenses (this they know), but I've added extra that would cover a portion of theirs too

My parents were good to me (for the most part) and took care of me when I couldn't. I will do the same

30

u/ChampionshipBulky66 May 29 '26

Yeah that ruined it

u/DadCelo May 29 '26

6

u/wickedkisser123 May 30 '26

Her 4 kids have nothing to do with her and her husband died of drugs at 45? Hmmmmm that makes me wonder if maybe there wasn’t a reason her family isn’t there. Addiction is a hell of a thing. Glad she got help!

8

u/HA1FxL1FE May 30 '26

Said this before, and ill say it again. This doesnt making me smile it infuriates me that the system we were raised on treats its citizens like shit while the rich get richer just because fucking Republicans dont understand economics around how things like free education and free Healthcare could be done without raising there day to day taxes by more then a dollar and instead reallocating resources from things we dont need to be putting it into like hmmm idk FUCKING ISRAEL. I dont agree with living in a society where the elderly are forced to work like this (and stand for that matter as a fucking cashier...) instead of the social security we work our whole lives contributing to actually sustaining us.

We could feed and house the homeless in this country if we just taxed the bloody billionaires.

10

u/Triple-Ark-Solutions May 29 '26

Different opinion here.

I have a colleague that only has his mother. Here is the breakdown of his mother playing the professional victim.

  1. Mother was terrible with finances
  2. Got divorce, ex-husband paid a handsome alimony, child support but wanted nothing to do with her 2 boys.
  3. Both boys hates their mother because of how she treats her ex-husband as an ATM machine.
  4. Father dies, mother comes to his bed side ONLY to speak with his financial advisor to 'figure' out how much she is getting from his estate.
  5. Both boys told their father she doesn't deserve anything but he wanted to be nice and have no regrets so the one son, who was the executor, honored his father's wishes. She end up getting $300K. Quite generous considering they have been divorced for more then 20 years.
  6. Mother said she deserve more and will get lawyers to sue the estate. Son challenged her mother that she will end up losing more then the $300K that she was already getting.
  7. Because of the handsome alimony, she never had to work but since she was terrible with money, she blew the $300K by buying a boat, a cottage, expensive trips, etc.
  8. In her late 50s, she is guilt tripping the only son that is willing to speak with her about how he is not taking care of her, how she brought him into this world, etc.

So when the lady here said that she has 4 kids and none of them want nothing to do with her, this is a red flag. She even admitted that her deceased husband died from drugs. There is a huge chance that she is a drug addict herself but can't afford to keep up that lifestyle.

Unfortunately, this world has corrupted my reality and I truly do like to look for the good in people but, society has realized it's easier to scam the public.

I truly hope that this lady has fallen on hard times but my logically mind tells me otherwise.

We have the technology to create entire media platforms dedicated to creating an entertainment medium based on helping people who are suffering or are living in squalor so that we can accumulate as many magic internet points as possible thus making ourselves absorbitent amounts of money too. But we simply don’t have the technology or wherewithal to help those people in the first place? I just can’t wrap my mind around that.
