New Jersey Patients- Can You Recommend Pain Mgmt (Neuropathy) LDN Prescribers in North Central NJ????

Hi all-I'm hoping some 'North Central NJ' pain sufferers who take LDN for same might recommend an insurance-accepting pain management Dr , eg in lower Morrris Cty, or even west Essex Ct or parts of Union Cty who would be willing to takeover my LDN Rx/care? TLDR: I've been taking LDN in different forms by a great compounding pharmacy (PKS Edison) for 6 years (!!) but my pain mgmt r who was really 'into' LDN left her close by practice and no longer takes insurance so I'm out of luck :(

I've called several local drs but so far have 2 'maybes' who might see me and Rx it, but then I also won't know what pharmacy they use (and LDN quality and filler) nor their knowledge about LDN, not only for my small fiber neuropathy but who will accept I use it also for a very rare neuropathy/neuralgia of the corneas aka corneal neuralgia.

FYI, I've tried getting LDN-prescribing Dr names from several of the known US pharmacies like PKS, Belmar, Johnsons and Town and Country but so far they can't offer any drs close enough for me to see. Also LDNTrust.org doesn't seem to inclulde dr names nearby so here I am....

I'm trying to avoid ageless.rx--too costly for me, plus not sure of their 'dr' overseeing and changing doses if necessary.

TIA

PTSD and LDN

• Upvotes

Advice

So I have pretty bad PTSD from some recent traumatic events at my apartment complex. I started taking LDN for my osteoarthritis in my low back and hips. I've been taking LDN for almost a week now. I noticed that the other day I had been triggered by something and my reaction wasn't as intense as it usually is. I was able to regulate the fear so I didn't move into hypervigilence. Is LDN supposed to help with PTSD?

ULDN and pain meds - telehealth doctors?

I’m currently in Kansas, USA. I’m extremely interested in LDN but I’ve also been on opioids for over ten years for my chronic pain. I also have MECFS and about a thousand other things it’s supposed to help with so I really, really want to get on it. I understand I need to get off opioids OR do the ULDN method and taper both really slowly. Since I am currently in pain and will be for the foreseeable future, I would much prefer that approach, however I cannot find an in-person local doctor who is willing to prescribe the LDN at all, let alone get more complicated with ULDN. (I’m in Wichita if anyone happens to know someone!) I’ve found a bunch of telehealth places like Dickson and Ageless RX, but none of them so far will take anyone who is actively weaning off opioids. Anyone know of someone who does? It’s so frustrating.

My current doctors treat me like a drug addict just because I’m on opioids (even though I take them exactly as prescribed and have never abused them, with records showing that) so I thought they’d be happy I was showing initiative in wanting to get off, but they don’t seem interested in helping at all. My backup plan is just white knuckle myself off on my own, but that doesn’t sound like a good time. Any ideas would be appreciated!! Thanks!

To go up a dose or not

Hi all, I’m currently on 1mg of LDN for endo and ic pain and I’m feeling pretty good. It hasn’t gotten rid of my period pain but has incredibly improved my IC and pelvic pain. I have had some emotional side effects and I’m wondering if I should keep going up or stay put at 1mg. I don’t want to miss my sweet spot but don’t want to miss out on more pain relief. Other than emotional I’m not really having any other side effects

3 Weeks on 1.5mg LDN and I'm STARVING :(

Pretty frustrating! I'm on a microbiome-friendly diet for autoimmune disease, and I already deal with sugar and carb cravings semi-regularly, but they were easier to control before LDN. I started LDN 1.5mg 3 weeks ago to help control systemic inflammation, but since then I've been STARVING for carbs and sugar, which as I understand it is not the common response. Even eating full meals and having a couple teaspoons of honey with each meal to keep glucose levels steady isn't helping. I feel like the LDN is scrambling my feel-good hormones and having the opposite effect that most people have, which is reduced appetite.

The tl;dr here is: has anyone else dealt with this, did you do anything to reduce hunger, and/or did it eventually go away? Any insight at all is helpful, since the hunger has been pretty intense and I've been trying to eat healthy, manage inflammation, and (less importantly) lose some weight.

Duloxetine/Cymbalta. Will LDN help withdrawal?

I've been on 90mg duloxetine/Cymbalta for a couple of years for fibromyalgia, it is the only thing I've found that helps the pain but the side effects are becoming intolerable - severe sweating, night sweats, full body jerks, emotional numbing. I need off this stuff but I'm worried about the withdrawal (previously moved from duloxetine to effexor, I only lasted 48 hours before going back to duloxetine because the brain zaps were horrific). I need to find a way of getting off duloxetine and an alternative way of managing the fibro pain. Has anyone had success with LDN? Any suggestions are welcome because I'm at my wits end.

Premier changement de palier

Bonjour,

Merci beaucoup !

Scalp/skin inflammation

Ive been dealing with inflammation in the scalp and hair loss, as well as dandruff and redness on the scalp. If you had something similar, how did LDN affect this?

For those that had LDN prescribed to them , were any of you given it early based on symptoms and previous medication failures or was it more of a last option thing given to you.

Lifting fatigue

Hey guys. I started taking LDN at the beginning of September. For the first two weeks on 0.5mg, I could feel more energy and while it wasn’t perfect, it was glorious. Since, however, I haven’t been able to tap into that and might even be more tired on a regular basis.

Until last week, I’ve still been on 0.5mg because titrating to 1mg interfered with sleep. On one occasion about three weeks in, I took two back-to- back evening doses of 1mg total and felt wrecked the next day. I wondered if that made my nervous system go a little haywire, but it’s been a month since then.

I now take a 0.5mg pill both morning and evening, and have been sleeping just fine. I do plan to continue titrating; not sure yet how much or how quickly I’ll go.

Curious if you guys have advice or anecdotes on when I might expect to feel more consistent energy?

For background, I’m taking LDN for chronic pain, inflammation and fatigue with hopes it improves anxiety and gut over time, too.

LDN SLEEP and GUT HEALTH

Hi all I’m curious does/has anyone had chronic insomnia and hyperarousal and found LDN to help? I been so anxious about LDN worsening sleep as my insomnia is already severe and already so hyperaroused but I’m also so desperate to improve my severe ME CFS POTS MCAS and more. Hoping for some advice and positive feedback, also has anyone started or taken LDN whilst having active gut health issues? I have candida gut imbalances etc and wondering if LDN helps or worsens too. Thank you.

update: 3ish mos on LDN

hey yall! this is an update to this post i made:

https://www.reddit.com/r/LowDoseNaltrexone/s/P4fMrr0m69

so. ive been on my titrated dose of 4.5 for about 3 months now! just under, maybe. its working p good, ive had a couple nights where i accidentally forgot my meds and def noticed a difference the next day in pain levels. i started clonidine for my hyper POTS as well, and all the weird sleep side effects like strange dreams have dissipated. my MCAS is consistently less reactive, my mood is consistently better. ive figured out taking ny ldn at around 6pm is best for me-- i dont sleep while the blockade is in effect bc i get anxious and sore, and have weird sleep issues if taken right before falling asleep. my gut is happier, too. the main difference i see is in my mood and in immune function (mcas). im just so much more chilled out, especially since treating the pots as well, and i have been able to occasionally lower my dose of antihistamines due to having multiple "good days" in a row (not permanent lowering, but sone days im able to take 1x10mg zyrtec and 1x10mg claritin, rather than 2x10mg of each).

now for the bad: turns out, i have ME/CFS. and i have for a while, but was always just mild enough (esp the first 5 years after getting mono) due to having enough help that it got brushed off as depression/POTS/EDS/the flu/a cold/strep/whatever. so that period of going to the gym bc of feeling better due to LDN? permanently lowered my baseline capacity for exertion, oops. after treating my POTS p well with medication, and somewhat treating my pain with LDN, controlling my mood with LDN and a gluten free diet for the celiac disease i have, and doing a bucnh of tests to rule out anything else, the ME dx was confirmed. I am considering upping my dose of LDN for this, considering I am now 90% housebound, and unable to walk more than a couple hundred feet without triggering PEM even with a movility aid, but i fear by making myself feel better ill also permanently reduce my baseline again.

anyway, there ya go. moral of the story is, dont push yrself too hard bc u feel better, i guess? bc i did that and i paid for it looool.

ORA-Plus Added to LDN Liquid Dosing to Increase Shelf Life?

Hey everyone,

I'm taking 0.5mg daily of LDN and it's helped me a lot. Recently, I switched to the liquid dilution method with the 50mg pill and 50ml liquid. It was feeling wasteful to throw out so much extra LDN since I only take 0.5ml daily so I was looking for ways to increase the shelf-life and came across ORA-Plus. Has anyone else tried putting this in their liquid solution?

Thanks

Allodynia and scalp dysthesia

Did anyone’s nerve pain get worse before it got better? I restarted 4.5 about a week ago. The nerve pain in my scalp and hair is the worst. The allodynia was bad enough. I know it can take time so I’m trying to give it enough time this time.

Post Breast Cancer Treatment, Can't get LDN from Ageless Rx

Hi, I thought LDN would be good for overall inflammation reduction post Breast Cancer treatment, but Ageless has denied my request (I'm sure for liability). Anyways, I plan to go through another pharmacy that is similar, but should I be concerned? I don't take any other meds - not even Tamoxifen. Looking online, I'm only seeing benefits of LDN post breast cancer treatment. Ageless is going to make me wait 1 year post treatment, so not bad at all, but I have gained 15 lbs -pretty sure inflammation and my fatigue is out of control. I can't do HRT for good reason, so really looking to be proactive for my body. Anyone have thoughts or ideas to help? Was planning on just going through another company and not sharing I'm post Breast cancer, but that feels yucky too

New Powerlifting PR!!!!

No I'm not lost lol

I slipped a disc in my back in ~2022 from deadlifting 365lbs and went to physical therapy for the pain, which helped a ton, but I still lived in pain pretty much 24/7 ever since. The only thing that helped was massive amounts of THC edibles, but I could only take it at night since I have to drive to anything I need to do during the day.

I kept deadlifting to keep my back strong and managed to hit 365 once in 2024, but I've been struggling to beat that number for years. Then I started LDN and my back pain legitimately 90% disappeared overnight. It still comes back towards the end of the day (for now), but for the first time in 4 years, I hit a PR on deadlift at a 370Lb pull. Then I did it again, and once more after that. 8 hours later, only slight soreness, no pain.

I've only been on LDN for a week and it's genuinely changed my life. This is the happiest and strongest I've ever been, and I feel fucking incredible.
