A new port of qemu-ios allows running old iOS up to iOS 6 on an Android phone. An of course you can jailbreak the virtual devices 😂

It even has working demo apps and games. It also has a very nice screensaver showcasing many different apps including third party ones. I jailbroke it though to save activation tickets.

i was just able to get socket to work on my ipad6 and i got zebra, cydia, filza and AppDrop! which truly blowing my mind!
I can’t believe how awesome this is, i found Boulderdash and TouchOSC, right away, they don’t crash and run perfectly. so now i’m on the hunt for a web browser, i’m partial to firefox and have 14.0 (12646) installed. but it doesn’t fare well on most sites, i’m not certain if it’s a cert problem, or not, i have noticed the http ssl issue which i tried to fix before but couldn’t figure out how to install an updated cert. which i believe is one of the issues, that and its version 14.0
so, i’m hoping i could ask here, i’m open to a version of opera or chrome?, but uncertain if either have a version i can install without a desktop. i have heard about Reynard being the crème de la crème for these older machines but i gather mine may be too deep in the legacy for it.

It's stuck on this and I can't get it to do anything

I have been seeing so many AI-made applications, revivals and tweaks for legacy iOS versions, which do look like iOS 6 but are still extremely off and not that high quality. Not that I am a hardcore anti-AI guy, but it does discourage developers who have been working on so many projects for legacy iOS for so long, and I feel like everyone is going to give up on developing for it on their own, without AI, which honestly makes it sad since I have been in this community for so long and have seen what lengths it has achieved. Not even talking about how many of these revivals look like someone told Claude or whatever: "Write this and that and make it pre-iOS-7 style", and then it sort of looks like it but is off.

On the restoration legacy iOS kit fáiled the restauration and I put On wtf mode but it failed, and i tried to turn On and nothing, can anyone help me?

I've been working on WA Classic, an unofficial WhatsApp client for jailbroken iPhones on iOS 4, 5 and 6. It looks like WhatsApp from the iOS 6 days, but works with today's WhatsApp.

A small bridge runs on a computer at home (via Docker) and is linked to your account like WhatsApp Web. Your old iPhone only talks to your own bridge, and the app installs straight from it through Cydia.

What works

• Chats and groups, profile pictures, online / typing / last seen
• Photos, videos and voice messages
• Voice calls (Partially)
• Notifications, even when the app is closed
• Profile, status, wallpapers, contacts

So recently, the rules for this subreddit has been updated to make things more clear, but rule 3, the piracy rule still doesn’t explain things very well. Firstly, there is no mentioning of Apple Internal firmwares on it or in any other rule when it supposed to be strictly prohibited on this subreddit. Secondly, there is some grammatical errors in the rule itself, making things harder to understand. The old piracy rule was much more clear to be honest. Is it it possible for an extra bullet point to be added to rule 3 to explain the subreddits policy for Demo and Prototype iOS versions?

The old Spotify app for iOS 6 doesn't sign in or play anymore. I still use my iPhone 5 and wanted Spotify back on it, so this is Encore.

2. Install the bridge from the latest release.

Don't want a bridge running on a PC? Check out Spotify6 by iKiWY and its skeuo fork Spofity by amadeonesi. They run entirely on the phone and have stuff Encore doesn't, like offline downloads, but you'd lose, Spotify Connect, Jam, profiles and following, making playlists and removing songs from them, picking your streaming quality (they play at 160 kbps), and the 13 languages. Really cool projects, go show them some love.

A few answers up front:

Why a computer at home? iOS 6 can't run Spotify's current playback engine, so the bridge runs it (go-librespot) and sends the phone AAC at 96 to 320 kbps.

Away from home? Optional, and it needs a public IP at home. Forward TCP 8095. Data is about 144 MB an hour at 320 kbps.

Windows: SmartScreen will warn. Click More info, then Run anyway (only for the file from the release page). Docker: 64-bit Linux, x86-64 or ARM64, one compose file (it works as a Dockge or Portainer stack too). A Pi 4 or 5 should work but I haven't tested one. No Mac bridge.

This is a follow up to the update of Discord Classic i was working on, the thing is that via a comment, i found out that indeed, Discord classic IS still worked on, and had implement all key features i added.

But, i decided to work in the old iOS design, and i got the idea to make an client for iOS 3!

Again, i had to use AI to accomplish this, because i dont have the skills to code in Xcode and it was really needed to make a working TLS.

The most features are:

1. Forums
2. Member List
3. Member Profile Card
4. Log In with your Email (2FA is supported too)
5. Server stickers and emojis support

The app is still missing some features i already had in the Discord classic client, but im still working and porting on them, always checking the details.

It’s still on an early concept, but everything seems to work. Can’t wait for iOS 18 on the iPhone 7!

Hey everyone!

I got an iPhone 2G (the real OG) that’s on iOS 3.1.3. With this being such an old OS, I’m naturally stuck when it comes to options for sharing photos between devices. I’m having a blast capturing moments with its camera but then the issue is that beyond emailing, I don’t have any other option to export them.

I know that I can plug it to the computer to export the photos but that’s a bit of a hassle to do at the end of each day. Also the cable I have is constantly making the iPhone connect/disconnect non-stop which prevents access to the photos. I’m waiting for a new cable at the moment. Although using that cable to charge it with either a wall outlet or external battery works.

Safari doesn’t work with modern uploading websites and I can’t get the App Store to connect in order to download some potential sharing apps. I tried the iFile web server but the connection progress stays at 0 and I can’t connect to the IP with other devices (same wifi network).

Are there any tweaks that would somehow allow me to wirelessly transfer between this old iOS version and a more recent phone (ie 15 Pro Max)? Or maybe a website that somehow still works on that old Safari version?
