I feel stuck and don't know how to take my language learning to the next level
I learned English pretty "naturally" growing up. I picked up the basic grammar from basic school, but after that, most of my fluency came from playing video games and watching movies with subtitles. At some point, I realized I was understanding english without even trying, and I had fun talking to myself in English to get comfortable with conversation.
I tried to replicate this approach with Korean, since I really enjoy watching dramas and listening to music. The thing is, I've hit a MAJOR wall. I study the grammar and understand how it works, but I feel like I'm stuck in beginner mode forever. I just can't form more complex sentences, no matter how hard I try.
Unfortunately, I can't afford a private tutor or language courses right now, but I treat language learning as a hobby that was a lot of fun until now. Now that I've hit this wall, though, it's getting hard to keep going.
What do you guys think I should do from here? I also started learning French out of academic necessity, and the exact same thing happened.
There's clearly something in my process that isn't working, and I'd love some advice on how to fix it.
