the belt sounds a little weird too but i’m not sure if it sounds completely normal and i’m just tweaking over nothing . i have 52k miles on it and it’s a 2021 and it’s maintained pretty well so i hope it’s nothing but want the opinion of some experts.

Power steering loss

I’m not sure if it’s directly connected or not but ever since I put 212 inch subwoofers when I start hitting them pretty hard I temporary lose power steering until I press the brake again or turn the music down. We’ll probably end up getting another battery to run them off of wondering if anyone else had similar issues.

Mod Install/Question Hard Top Insulation

Has anyone tried insulating Wrangler hard tops with expanding foam? I have a JL and was thinking of ways to help with the noise and temperature variances. It occurred to me that possibly drilling small holes in the hollow areas and spraying expanding foam could help. Thoughts?

New Sound System in an Older Jeep?

Hi everyone, new to the community. I have a 2018 Jeep Sahara Wrangler Unlimited and I'm wondering about replacing the sound system/nav screen. A few years back, we substituted out the old system for a pioneer system and it has never really worked right. I'm wondering if it is possible to order a newer navigation system and retrofit it into this Jeep. I would really welcome any advice or recommendations. Thank you!

Technical Question First time running river valley trails in my '24 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe

I drive a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe, and before the weather gets too cold, I took it on my first run through a wooded river valley in total darkness. My brother led the way in his modified Wrangler Rubicon, with warnings from up front about water depth, hidden holes, and big rocks. The route included muddy trails through thick woods and a few rocky water crossings.

A few thoughts:

Ground clearance and skid plates: Even with the air suspension all the way up, the longer wheelbase meant a few light scrapes dealing with hidden rocks and deep ruts dug out by rigs on big tires. The factory skid plates and rock rails really earned their keep.

Thermal imaging setup: I had a Vantrue dashcam with thermal imaging mounted on the windshield. The thermal view handled glare really well, even with the mist and dust at night. I could spot wildlife in the brush and clearly see the heat trails left by the lead vehicle’s exhaust and tires, which made it easier to follow.

Off-road performance and keeping up: It wasn’t quite on the Wrangler’s level, but the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe felt surprisingly planted climbing over slippery rocks and up steep, muddy banks.

Anyway hope to run next time, anyone wanna join?

Technical Question Jeep Wrangler Knocking noise and engine shut off on its own. 2018 Jeep Wrangler 3.6L

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This sound just started as I pulled into the driveway. The jeep shut off on its own shortly after. The jeep had trouble starting. It starts up now, but the knocking noise is still there. I plan to have it looked at tomorrow. Any idea what happened and what could be wrong?

Technical Question Jeep in Alaska

I have a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Sport unlimited and live in Fairbanks. I was wondering if anyone here on the sub has any tips or comments for driving/maintaining up here. Especially about the 4wd high and low, like is it okay to just keep it in 4wd high all winter. If not what do you guys do?

Technical Question Help Diagnosing Suspension Issue

Throwing this out because I'm completely baffled. I'm running a 3.5-inch TeraFlex suspension lift on my '08 JKU, with Falcon 3 shocks, plus TeraFlex everything (springs, track bars, steering stabilizer, + suspension components). Whenever crawling over a larger obstacle and the suspension flexes, I get a loud pop from the driver front area. Doesn't happen with daily driving or smaller rocks/ledges, just during bigger obstacles where my wheel/suspension is performing full travel.

I've checked everything multiple times. It all looks great: u-joints, ball joints, everything tightened down, don't see that the springs are binding up or rubbing against anything. Added to this, most of my components are only two years old. No damage that I'm spotting. Everything "seems" to check out.

Anyone have a similar experience or idea of what I should check before I start spending money and replacing the usual suspects (u-joints/ball joints). I know full well that Jeeps groan and creak on trails (my LC buddies like to rib me about this), but this is a pretty awful sound!

Ideas? Condulences?

Picture Friends gone MIA Anyone recognize?

This is A long shot and if this violets the rules mods remove it but I have an online friend in our group who played World of Warcraft with us consistently over the last year. He stayed in contact daily and one day over a month ago fell off the face of the earth.

Guy loves his jeep and talked about going to all the events in the southern states (georgia-tennessee area). So if anyone recognizes it please reach out id be more than happy to know he's alright or find someone who might know him.

(Yes I know the first name and age but that's about all I have)

Update: thank you all for being so accepting and I appreciate all your help. I've found his socials through your help and will try to check up on him. I'm aware some people would like to disappear that is more than likely not the case as my group and I have talked. It's simply very out of character and we have been worried about him. Wishing you all the best!
