📣 ANNOUNCEMENT Notice regarding comments targeted at Travellers and Roma

Can't believe I'm having to write something like this again only three months after the last one...

There has once again been a noticeable rise in the use of dog-whistles and other derogatory comments against members of the Travelling and/or Roma communities.

As a reminder, ethnicity is legally protected characteristic in this country, therefore comments such as the following fall under our hate speech rules:

  1. Dehumanising language
  2. Calls or support for exclusion of members
  3. Calls for or support for violence against members
  4. Implying members are responsible for actions carried out by other members is not allowed
  5. Slurs and dog-whistles (including but not limited to utterances such as "knacker", "culture", "culture boss")
  6. Statements of inferiority aimed at members

The Travelling and Roma communities remain open for discussion in this community provided it is done factually and respectfully.

Any and all dog-whistles used against the Travelling or Roma communities will be removed, and the offending commenters will be receiving community bans starting from 14 days.

❄️ Sneachta Cocaine is a major problem

Student halloween night out, walked by a girl outside the local pub in floods of tears. As would anyone, asked her if she was okay and flashed a sort of thumbs up. Her coked up asshole of a boyfriend (quite fittingly dressed as Hugh Heffner) screamed at me and started punching me, keys in hand. The upshot is he couldn't punch for shit and the missus was screaming at him to stop, but god lord. Rang the pub who rang the guards, apparently had done the same thing to a young fella in the smoking area two mins ago, reducing his missus to tears. I'm a reasonably big fit chap, but my heart goes out to her dealing with that scumbag. Been fortunate to never have been in a situation like that before, but will never touch coke in my life and condemn those who do. A cheeky bag turns you into a fuckin arsehole who ruins nights for everyone around you.

(Quick wee edit to put some issues to bed. Yes, he was a fuckin cunt. Cocaine and alcohol only brings out the arsehole in you, I assume he was one before. I didn't know him or the girl with him, but i got a good enough look as he was hitting me. This man was clearly on coke. He exhibited the signs of being a cocaine user, such as large irises and highly tense jaw movement. I have worked in a bar previously, and am quite familiar with how people look on coke. And tbh, if you yourself regularly use coke and want to argue with me? I want you to know everyone around you when you use it not only knows you are on it, but fuckin avoids you. I'm sore and tired. Don't @ me)

Happy Out Three Italians turned an Irishman’s lost wedding ring into a real life Lord of the Rings quest: after days searching an Italian mountain stream, they found it in the rapids, and texted the Irishman “Hi Sméagol, look what we found” and then flew to Ireland dressed as hobbits to return it.

Just to keep the perpetual Cadburys Chocolate discussion going 😉. Pretty cool to see though in this day and age. You'd wonder what other stashes of similar exist throughout the world.
