I'm on a mission to go around and ask each country subreddit what people think about beans (my favorite meal!), just to see how people like or dislike them all around the world out of curiosity and for fun. If you like beans, hate them, they are a big part of the culture, anything else, just share your thoughts! 🫘

Greetings, Guyanese. The day, is today. Where your thoughts on beans, I ask for. The last country starting with the letter G, yours is. 'Spill the beans', if you will.

A very lovely flag, you possess. 🇬🇾🇬🇾

Hi! I’m visiting Guyana and staying in a hotel. I turned on the tv and there was this channel with just a picture of a guy holding a mug with his dog outside what I assume is his house! No music, no change in image over a 6 hour period, just the picture? I tried to look it up but nothing came up,

I’m wondering if this is Guyana specific? I attached a picture since I haven’t been able to find it online, very curious!

I am M26 looking to meet Guyanese woman to date the ones that can make some goood chicken curry and dhal puri not the ones that beat them man when them come home from a bar lmaoo. All jokes aside where do u guys go to meet down to earth Guyanese woman??

The final farewell . Let us come together to pay our respects & honour the Life of the Mighty Sparrow

This was a beautiful celebration

Hey everyone!

Thanks in advance 😁

So I was in town today, crossing the road to get over to bounty right and I saw this black car stopping for me and I thought okay, let me cross over now, but when I cross the car freaking hit my side luckily I didn't fall over, I wasn't hurt or anything and in my defense I saw the CAR STOPPED for me, anyways I pulled back and the coconut man and the lady who was a bystander waiting for a bus was like watch where I was going over and over and I was like I did I thought the car stopped for me because he literally stopped from a far distance. And the coconut man kept saying it over and over again and then he was like let me cross you over and he did. Bro I was so shameful to walk out back that supermarket. I never experienced something like this before and idk how to feel. I'm so embarrassed and I work right in town so like 😞😞😞😞

Good Morning.. any info on how to purchase tix for South Dakota racing Nov1 from overseas? Is there a website or st? GMSRC is unresponsive. ✌🏾

Where’s the good food at down here from jerk chicken to steak, pasta and dem tings?

As the title suggests, how is the culture of disrespecting doctors and nurses encouraged even if they are doing everything correctly as per protocol along with willingness to learn, just because the head of the same prefers people of a certain nationality (not guyanese btw) more than others.

Also side note, there is no one who can be contacted regarding the same because such matters get pushed under the rug with threats to the person's job and future employment.

I would just like to know why such things are so prevalent in region 6 primarily. Even educating patients is frowned upon here for some reason.

So I wanted to apply for the Training Programme to be a Dental Assistant from MoH

But i don't know when the application period was, so i want to know if anyone knows when the next application period will be and do I need to have any prior experience in the Dental area, it doesn't seem that way because they only ask for 2 subjects.

Hey everyone! I'm interested in freelancing online on Fiverr, Upwork etc and I want to find the best option to receive payments online- as we all know receiving money online here is a hassle if you dont have a US bank account.

These are the platforms I've found while researching:

Payoneer

WiPay

Wise

My sibling sent one to me called SpotPay on tiktok, which seems to be a newer product. According to the video, you're able to receive funds.. like PayPal in a way? Not sure about this one as much.

I want to know which one is recommended for a Freelance designer. Thanks guys.

If someone is clearing a 1kg personal box from the GPO, sent from a European country; what is the amount of cash one would need to have on hand?

I am googling US restrictions and travelling with food items. Its basically saying that you cannot walk with anything. Do you usually walk with things like casreep, pepper, juice, seasoning, food? And do you declare it as food, and do they allow it and not take it away?

UPDATE: There was no declaration form and no one checked the bag or asked anything.

C. W. Peppiette top left ran C. W. Peppiette & Co and was responsible for British Guiana's annual Peppiette Cup football tournament.

Thomas Wrigglesworth top right was one of the higher ups in the Demerara Railway Company when it was private. A year before this picture was taken I believe it was sold to the state and he was granted a fortune in annuities.

Ulric R. White (sitting far left) was an established businessman in British Guiana.

John Frederick Waby was the Botanist & Head Gardener known for landscaping The Botanical Gardens.

R.G. Brassington (sat middle) was one of the nation's Justices of the Peace.

James Rodway I was British Guiana's most prominent historian - writing the books regarded as the authority on the colony's development, published throughout the British Empire.

William Cunnigham, sat far right, served on the British Guiana Boundary Commission during the global Venezuela Crisis of the 1890s - so would have worked closely with James Rodway.
