Giveaway [Feedback Wanted] Help Shape GG Play Now + Win a Share of $60 AUD in Steam Gift Cards!

  • What would make you want to use GG Play Now again?

You don't need to answer every question. Just share a few honest thoughts about your experience.

Constructive criticism is absolutely welcome! If something sucks, tell me what and why. If you couldn't find anything worth playing, that's useful feedback too.

Low-effort responses like "looks cool" or "terrible site" without any explanation won't qualify. I'm looking for meaningful feedback that can help me improve the platform.

Hey, this post has hit my timeline and the site seems cool honestly, I do sometimes wonder what to play more than actually play it lol

Generally, here is how I evaluate games to play:
-Time to complete (is it a short game? 2 hour long story game is fun but maybe I'm in a mood for a longer title? Maybe it would be cool to just sink into some sandbox?)
-Price (is it on sale? do I have it already? can i get a good deal on it?)
-Achievements (ease of obtaining platinum/perfect/100% whatever you call it)

I saw that there are options to sort the games by genre, price and so on, adding options for achievements and time to complete and maybe more detailed price picker would be cool.

Out of 3 options, I enjoyed the advanced search the most. Quick pick seems a little random and it doesn't really give me the option to pick a game I want, just leaves me with another massive list of seemingly random games to choose from. Also some of them look really bad, like shovelware level. This is fine, some folks enjoy it, but I'd appreciate some more curated and moderated list of games, maybe including some hidden gems and such.

For the group pick, a group size filter would be cool, different games support different party sizes. Some games support just 2 player coop and some offer 10+ lobbies, having the marker of how many players you have and whether you prefer coop pve, or pvp would be cool.

I see the advanced search as the best feature of the site, hands down. The main problem is, that it lacks games. I'm sorry, but not Witcher 3? No Elden Ring? Skyrim? This is a very big miss, and right now the biggest obstacle in using the site efficiently. You have to add a bunch of games, both classics and new releases. And keep updating it a lot of people like to play new games and stay on top with that. Right now, if I wanted to use the site, picked advanced search looking for a game similar to Witcher or Skyrim, and could not find either - I'd just close the site and never come back.
Also it's kinda hard to come up with a game I hate lol, if I don't like something I usually don't play it. Maybe instead of a game, allow to ban one or several tags? Like just don't show me open world game for example, or don't show me soulslikes.
Also, I have typed couple of games, all open world RPGs and gotten back a racing game from the algorithm. Lol. Don't really care about it, and I don't think it has anything to do with other games I've searched for. Maybe some fine tuning here would be cool.

Also, what I can suggest is: Steam API is public, and you don't need to login if your profile is public (don't know other platforms). Adding this integration would be cool: paste a link to your steam profile and build your gamer profile for advanced search this way. You could pick your preferences form previously played games, and look through unplayed games in library, wishlist games and such. Also it could filter games already played/owned/finished. I just managed to fine-tune a search really cool way, and it gave me back one game, turns out I've already beaten it lol.
Could do some cool stuff if you want to add this integration, but this is just a suggestion.

That's it from me, I've tried to be honest and constructive, don't take anything written here personally, this is all in good faith. Good luck and much love!

Hello, I check the site and I have some honest feedback. I hope you don't get disappointed by it, I am just trying to help

I chose advanced search first. It asked me to select 3 games I enjoyed. My first problem was that it wasn't able to find some games like Black Myth Wukong or God of War: Ragnarok. I only found God of War(2018). I also found Control and to my surprise Control Resonant too. Then I typed Onimusha and it wasn't there. I am not sure why certain games are available and some not. I just got the message "This search only includes games with enough gameplay detail to compare". I can understand new games like Onimusha being unavailable but Black Myth and Ragnarok has been on steam from some time and they are absolute favorite of people. Similarly, there may be many major games are missing which would be like favorites of people and define their choice.

Second, I found that the tags in "Looking for games with" section can give very different results than what I have selected. For example, I chose give me story, give me puzzle and mysteries and keep it solo which according to me meant single player story driven games with some action-adventure like last of us or Tomb Raider etc but instead it suggested me simulation, base building games. If I have multiple tags and I remove some, the platform can still suggest same games. Some suggestions are good though for example, when i selected "push my skills" only, it gave me hollow knight which is a game that really tests your skills.

third I took the quiz too and the first thing I noticed was that gamer class and subclass had images which look generated from AI. Now I am not anti AI and I might be wrong about the images but I do know that some people hate anything AI especially gamers. It would be good to put Non-AI images there. Also the font there looked like when I just draft something rough on word or google docs. There was no standardization of what font should go where.

Fourth and final, I think surprise me option should still ask for the platform in which we are looking to game. I play on pc mostly and I got suggested a android game.

I think most of the problems here from the fact that many popular games are not present in your database. Adding them and Labeling them correctly should help. I hope I didn't made the feedback sound very negative because I genuinely think there is some improvement needed. Thanks

I tried GG Play Now because picking games is hard sometimes. The search part is a good idea but it really needs more work. You should add way more games since Witcher 3 and Elden Ring were not there when I checked. GTA V was missing too. That makes the tool feel kind of pointless right now.

Tags did not line up either. I am not totally sure how that works. The site is clean with no ads which is nice. But it is not ready yet.

Maybe you should add a huge list of popular games and fix the tags. Filtering by price or how long a game takes would help as well. Connecting it to Steam could be useful. I might still just use Steam because it has everything. That part seems hard to beat.

By tags are you referring to the browsing by tags or the hard mode search tags?

He's probably talking about browsing by tags ig

The site seems pretty cool overall but there are some problems that stand out right away. The tagging part needs work because sometimes you pick things like story and solo and end up with games that are more about building bases or simulations which is not what I wanted at all. It feels off when it recommends action adventure stuff instead. Maybe adding better tags would help fix the filtering side of things. That part gets a bit messy when the recommendations miss the mark. The pictures in the quiz look like they were made by AI which kind of puts me off and the fonts change a lot from page to page. It would look better if they made it more consistent and used real images instead. I am not totally sure how big of an issue that is but it does make the whole thing seem less finished. Overall I think with some fixes it could be really good for finding games. The tagging needs more variety and the design could be polished up a bit more.

Many people have already suggested the things I wanted to mention, so here are a few niche ideas. Hope these help!

1. Expand Guides: Add more detailed guides, tips, tricks, walkthroughs, and strategies for gamers.

2. Editorial: I really like the Editorial section. It’s a great way to share gaming opinions and interesting topics.

3. Submit a Game: Add more details about the submission process, required information, and approval criteria.

4. Improve the Bot: Add more features like game recommendations, release alerts, gaming news, game comparisons, and personalized suggestions.

Bro your idea is amazing but the main issue is with the site and the algorithm itself

  1. I've checked the site on phone and the UI is way to loud, bigger font, aggressive color and that large box based ui feels very weird

  2. The website has a lot of friction, first selecting a category, platform, mood etc with a quick loading screen. Your intention is correct but instead of having it as the requirement you should show some top games or something and there have these options as filters for people to select, you have to make it a bit more frictionless

  3. As others have pointed out, tags need a bit of rework

2

u/tifa_ka_husband sudo rm -rf /* 12h ago

As others have already covered many points, here are a few suggestions from my side:

  1. UI and Color Palette: The UI doesn't look that appealing right now. The colors are too vibrant, and some parts of the website give an AI-made feel. I'd suggest going with a more minimal and unique color palette that gives off a proper gaming vibe.

  2. Quick Search: I tried using Quick Search, but there aren't many tags or games to choose from. You should add more options so users can find games that match their interests.

  3. Advanced Search: I tried searching for games like Green Hell, Phasmophobia, and Sekiro in the section where you select games you've enjoyed, but none of them showed up. You should expand the game list by adding more popular indie titles as well as AAA games.

  4. Squad Search: Squad Search needs more filters and tags to help users find the right teammates based on their gaming preferences. The UI could also use some improvement to make the whole process smoother and easier to use.

  5. Quiz: I think the quiz should have more questions to understand users' gaming preferences better. This could help provide more accurate game recommendations and better squad matches.

  6. Images: I'd suggest avoiding AI-generated images and using original artwork or other gaming-related visuals instead. It would make the website feel more authentic and give it its own identity.

Overall, the website has potential, but I think improving these areas would make it much better and more enjoyable to use.

this idea is great and maybe solve gamer problem when he doesn't know what to play next but it needs more work and maybe repair some things on this website

first.. the idea of the quick serach is good but don't give you what you are searching for excactly because the questions like: what kind of pace? i tried open to anything +with friends+ build and explore and what they gave me? super market sim 🤣 and the other games all of them is sim games and something like that so that question (what the pace) must have more choices to get the best game available

second.. why is red dead redemption 2 still show every time when i serach about somegame 🤣

third thing... any website have something belongs to steam must have the connect steam account to your account so you can know what games you have in library and maybe give you an option to choose from your library if you have a lot of games and can't decide what to play and its better than the connect discord in my opinion

fourth.. why the website don't have all games? if the idea of this website is giving players new games you must put all games that you can find

this is the most important things i have noticed

the design is good but it can be better... also you can put gif or short video from the game itself it is better than go to steam to see what the game look like + avoid ai pictures please!

the good thing also is the website is simple and quick and doesn't take forever to open

and last thing... maybe you can do giveaways by advertise some games in exchange because that is a way to keep people around and gain new people

for me i will use this site to find new coop games to play with my friends! at last don't take anything personal i'm just tring to be honest and good luck to your website!
