One of my favourite books from Three Hopes is Fears and Frights of Fódlan. This book is a collection of in-world mythology of local folklore from across Fodlan. Some of what it describes are mysteries that are uncovered during the events of Three Houses and Three Hopes. For example:
The Wandering Beast
In the Enchanted Forest of Mircea, on nights when the mist is thick, an otherworldly wailing can be heard.
One must never enter the wood on nights like these. Anyone who does is never seen again, for in the mist lurks a bloodthirsty beast... An old Leicester legend.
This, clearly, refers to Maurice in Marianne's paralogue from Three Houses. The people of Fodlan don't know the exact context of what Maurice is, but they know that there is a monster living in that forest. To the people of Fodlan this is a mysterious entity - but we know it's a crest beast. The people of Fodlan don't know about crest beasts, so any one they encounter goes down in folklore as a mythical monster or beast. The truth of the matter is actively suppressed by the Church of Seiros so that people do not become fearful of Hero's Relics.

This is important information for later. Another interesting example of the people of Fodlan not knowing the nature of a monster or beast is this one:
Dana's Sandstorm
They say the north has sandstorms that prevent invaders. Merchants may navigate the edges of the desert undisturbed, but if someone steps into the desert seeking something, the scenery will change in an instant.
It is said that in that moment, a gigantic sandstorm will rise up to tear them to pieces. Old legend from an unknown region.
So an entity that lives in a desert region of Sreng, with control over the wind and sandstorms, that attacks visitors who come looking for treasure. If you've played Claude's route, you may know who this is referring to already.

Again, we see the people of Fodlan know that something exists somewhere, but they lack the knowledge of Nabateans or Crest Beasts to explain it.
What's interesting though, is that Fears and Frights of Fódlan has some mysteries that we DON'T know the answer to, but additional context from Fortune's Weave can help us answer.
One of these is this:
The Red Demon
At the bottom of the peaceful-looking Whitehorn Sea, a Red Demon slumbers. When someone falls overboard from a boat, the demon pulls them down to drown them.
To ward against it, use oil to... (A collection of ghost stories from around Fódlan.)
For those who don't know, the Whitehorn Sea is the name for the sea off of the coast of the Fraldarius region.

But what could this "Red Demon" that sleeps beneath the waves and eats sailors be? Well, I believe Fortune's Weave gives us the answer with its own sea monster, Cetus.

When an aquatic Crest Beast is submerged underwater, they give off an eerie red glow that can be seen from underneath the waves. The Crest Beast then destroys the boat and eats anybody unlucky enough to fall into the water.
Based on this, I think it's a pretty fair assumption that the "Red Demon" is a Crest Beast that lives off of the coast of Fraldarius. A good question to ask would be if the Red Demon was Cetus itself, which I would say is possible but unlikely just based on geography and context from Fortune's Weave.

It would technically be possible for a sea monster to swim all the way from Fraldarius to the coast of Dagda, but I'd say it's unlikely for a few reasons: it's a massive distance, Solel states that Cetus has been terrorising the coast of Dagda for a while now, and Cetus is killed by Dietrich in the 400s so it's unlikely it could have become this long-standing legend in the region.
It also seems to be far less hostile than Cetus, the legend isn't that the Red Demon attacks boats, but that it follows boats and eats any sailors unlucky enough to fall overboard. Cetus throws herself into boats and explodes them.
We also know from Fortune's Weave that there were a lot of "failed" Ten Elites that never went down in history because they went mad, got killed, or turned into monsters. Maurice was not an isolated case. It is likely that the Red Demon is another instance of a Maurice/Hedda situation, where a failed Ten Elite was transformed into a monster by their Relic.
Based on this, I would argue that there is a second Crest Beast terrorising the seas of Fodlan: the Red Demon of the Whitehorn Sea.

Fortune's Weave is my first FE game. I'm not at all a completionist (due to time limitation), but i'm also not a speedrunner. I would say i'm a Main Story + some relevant Side Quests gamer.
I know that on 3 Houses that we had to choose 1 of the 3 Color- Coded Main Characters and so I'm assuming the baseline assumption there is for non-completionist player to simply choose 1 of the 3 route and finished the game that way (and then move on to other game).
On Fortune's Weave i'm currently playing Leda's route and, as a non-completionist player, I'm a bit confused whether the game devs is assuming we are advised to play all 4 routes or is it more like 3 Houses where we just had to choose one.
So i'd like to ask veteran FE fans here, during marketing and development, is the game dev assuming we do all 4 routes or is it more 1-and-done like 3H?
for context i'm at chapter 9 of Leda's route. i'm asking here cuz i'm seeking the take of 3 Houses fans
thank you in advance!

Just finished up my first Maddening run (though on NG+, so just slightly easier than NG). Definitely a learning experience, what with all those unfair ambush spawns and whatnot. As expected I abused divine pulse to the high heavens. XD
I had two squads for the run; a group of fliers, and this group of cavalry whom I dubbed the Four Horsemen.
Felix was great at deleting mages from range.
Sylvain was great for deleting squishies with Swift Strikes.
Marianne was great at deleting wounds and hard targets with magic.
Dimitri was great at, well, managing the entire department of deletion.
Was just a pretty fun playthrough all around, and just wanted to share this little thing. XD

Hey everyone! My AO3 queue spot glitched out right before I was about to drop my FE3H fic. If anyone happens to have a spare AO3 invite code lying around, could you please slide into my DMs and message it to me? Thank you so much!
