His face lit up when he started talking to him. All the disgusting shit he hears on a daily basis regarding his race and religion, it must’ve been amazing to hear someone not only commend you for what you’re doing, but do it in your native tongue. Just beautiful
Deadline confirmed it was not Nathan Fielder. The update used to say that it was Cole Hersch but that's been removed. Doesn't seem like anyone knows who is behind it.
I've been following them since the beginning and still can't decide if it's an elaborate Andy Kaufman-like bit, or if they are sincere, or if it's in the middle somewhere.
I’m so fucking pissed and disappointed at all the chuds around me (Indian) who can’t seem to grasp how much of a win is Mamdani as a representation for us right now, what a great role model !!
It's because he is a Muslim which is a minority in India. Indian majority, who are of the Hindu faith, are weirdly pro-Israel just because Israel targets Muslims.
They're a "fake" boyband created so these three guys could bring their Indian online friend to the US by gaming the system around visas for musicians :) Well atp I guess they're a real boyband. But this just started as a silly wholesome ploy to bring their online friend over to the states. They had a super long online campaign for yearsss like "hey guys stream our new song so we can make a case that Darshan is a real musician and fits the requirements for the department of immigration!!" and they finally did it and now Darshan is officially a US resident! They all learned how to sing and dance for this and documented the whole process online. Until like last week Darshan had to be green screened into their videos
Just learning about them, thanks for expanding on that! I had no idea, this is super wholesome and awesome. Glad to see he made it to the US and they got to meet Mamdani. SO COOL.
I mean, if his story is about immigration/his own getting american citizenship, it kinda fits perfectly into the framework of what he would do. and I imagine it would be a cute/uplifting thread about how dumb the immigration system is and how cool it is that they were able to make this happen.
There's no way that this would be the main thread of Season 3 but would you say that Wings of Voice was below him in season 2? Just a little side thing to help move along the main thread
You Can See Everything was way more "serious" than anything Nathan Fielder has done previously. His projects that he has worked on alone like The Rehearsal and Nathan for You are much funnier. I'm a huge fan of all of his work, start to finish. He's a genius.
You know what this makes so much sense. Their videos would occasionally pop up on my yt recommended and I was like "this cannot be a real boy band, what even is this 😭" So thanks for explaining lmao
So it's only been 1 year since they started and they have always been a real band, they just have a sense of humor and are campy. Two of the members were on American idol.
I wonder what the proof is that he even got a visa or even needed a visa and didn't already live here. Of course they have said that but I don't trust anything they've said.
I started listening for Nathan Fielder conspiracies, then genuinely became a huge fan. Like I would have sick days, depression days and listen to their songs. These guys are pure joy, not kidding and no shame in saying it 😄
fun fact: i randomly met evan (one of the members) back in february in line waiting to see jade thirlwall in concert. i had no idea who he was until he told me. he just happened to be the person in front of me.
A boy band with 4 members. One was in India and couldn't get a visa, so they created a social media campaign to bring him to the states. The campaign went viral, and was successful, and now Darshan is stateside.
That is the official story. I think it's geopolitical commentary first, but I don't care, because they seem to be making good points and having a good time.
Darshan ans boythrob represents hope for the american dream. Regular people woth no nepo connections who work hard and are creative, bringing smiles to the world.
As an Indian, hearing Mamdani speak Hindi weirdly made me emotional. Idk the hate against South Asians has been unbearable recently and it's so nice to have someone like him represent us.

Omg Darshan made it to the US
