Discussion If Ethereum adoption is growing but ETH investment flows are weak, which signal matters more

Ethereum is still leading tokenized real-world assets with roughly $16.9B in RWA value on-chain, but U.S. ETH ETFs have also been seeing recent net outflows.

If those signals are moving in opposite directions, which one tells you more about Ethereum’s actual strength?

Do you put more weight on real network usage like RWAs, stablecoins, fees, and active users — or on market signals like ETF flows and ETH/BTC?

What would you need to see before you’d say adoption is genuinely improving rather than just one metric looking good?

Discussion JPM Coin is live on Ethereum. What counts as adoption here?

JPM Coin going live on Ethereum feels like a meaningful win for the chain. It’s also a good test of what we mean by “adoption.”

The bank’s deposit token is available to institutional clients. The network is public; access to the asset remains controlled. I’d want to see repeat usage by approved counterparties, and the assets or applications it actually connects, alongside any headline token balance.

That distinction matters much earlier, too. MWYN’s OmniX MOU explores RWA issuance and settlement infrastructure, without establishing a live product or naming Ethereum. For a proposal at that stage, “who can use it?” seems more useful than adding another announcement to the tokenization total.

A permissioned asset can still expand Ethereum’s usefulness. But counting a bank transfer and an open DeFi integration as the same kind of usage loses something. What would be your strongest evidence that this is expanding what people can actually do onchain?

Discussion Getting your first hardware wallet? The boring checklist I wish I had

When I moved my first bit of crypto off an exchange I was so nervous I triple checked everything and still made a couple of dumb mistakes. With all the talk lately about tampered wallets getting sold through sketchy sellers, here's what I'd tell a friend doing it for the first time.

  1. Buy it straight from the maker's official store or an authorized retailer. Not a marketplace reseller, not a "barely used" one, not a gift from someone you met online. The cheaper listing isn't worth it.

  2. The device should make YOU create the seed phrase. If the box comes with a card that already has 12 or 24 words printed on it, stop right there. A legit wallet generates the words on its own screen when you set it up.

  3. Write the seed phrase on paper or metal and nowhere else. No photo, no notes app, no cloud, no emailing it to yourself. Anyone with those words has your coins, no password needed.

  4. Nobody legit will ever ask for your seed phrase. Not support, not the wallet company, not a "recovery service." If someone asks, it's a scam, every single time.

  5. Send a tiny test amount first. Send a little, check that it shows up, then send the rest. Yes it costs an extra fee. Totally worth it for the peace of mind.

  6. Check the receiving address on the device screen itself, not just on your computer. Some malware swaps addresses when you copy and paste.

  7. Do a practice recovery if you can. Some people wipe the device and restore it from their written words before putting real money on it, just to prove the backup actually works.

None of this is exciting, but it's the part that actually keeps your coins yours.

For the people who've been at this a while, what's the one thing you'd add?

News Ethereum is dying.

Ethereum gets declared dead roughly once a season, so we went through growthepie's Q3 2026 report to check the pulse.

The pulse is strong and boring. Mainnet did 199.3M transactions with about 530.6K active addresses a day, within 2.2% and 0.6% of Q2, and gas throughput didn't budge. It's not much, but it's honest work.

Using it also got cheaper. The median transaction cost $0.034, down 30.3%. The flip side is that total fees were $35.1M, down 33.6%, so users are happy and the network's fee jar looks a bit lighter. This is fine (okay, it's mostly fine).

Then September showed up with a plot twist. Transactions fell from 72.4M in July to 56.9M, but the median cost went from about 1.7 cents to 6.1 cents and monthly fees nearly doubled to $16M. Fewer transactions, higher price each, which growthepie reads as demand for blockspace coming back.

As for who is actually at the party, stablecoins are the main characters. Over the last 90 days Tether and Circle alone made 21.2% of all Mainnet transactions. Uniswap was down 7.8%, OpenSea cooled off by 51.3%, and Relay jumped 114.8%. Turns out the most popular use for Ethereum is moving dollars around. Shocked Pikachu.

And then the new kid walked in. Robinhood Chain, an L2 that launched on July 1, did 793.7M transactions in its first quarter, about 4x Mainnet, and ended with 121 active apps and $1.07B in stablecoins. Its users paid $51.0M in gas, more than Mainnet's $35.1M, most of it in September.

What we liked was that usage held up, fees stayed low, and a brand new L2 showed up with real activity. What we would like to see next is more of that growth flowing back to L1, and a bit more variety beyond two big stablecoin issuers carrying a fifth of the traffic.

So is "cheap for users, lighter fee jar for the network" a feature or a bug?

Data from growthepie's Ethereum Mainnet Quarterly Report Q3 2026.

Discussion Does a traditional broker adding ETH staking actually matter for Ethereum adoption?

Interactive Brokers just expanded its crypto services to include Ethereum staking.

Do you guys see moves like this as meaningful evidence that ETH is becoming more mainstream, or is it mostly just another product feature for people who already own crypto?

What would convince you that institutional access is actually translating into stronger Ethereum adoption — more staking, more users, more transaction activity, more stablecoin/RWA growth, or something else?
