From the fireside chat presumably. Tbh I don’t know any other BIG Anime Matchups. My guesses are Goku vs The Big 3, Sailor Moon vs Madoka or Goku, Eren vs Ken or Baki vs Ohma.

Lemme know if there’s any other big Anime MUs.

I've seen alot of hate towards this matchup on this sub and I disagree so I made this post to defend this matchup.

"The connections are weak!"

While yes there are not alot of connections for this matchup but there are still enough for this matchup to work and besides there are matchups out there that don't have that many connections but are still great.

"Frankenstein's Monster is a deeply tragic character while freddy is funny har har bear"

This...bugs me because freddy is also a deeply tragic character just like the monster. While freddy is seen as the "funny har har bear" in reality behind the mascot and the memes he is put simply...a child who never got to grow up, a child who got his flame snuffed out by a monsters quest for immortality, a child trapped in a prison made of metal and plastic, a child who is forced to perform on a stage next to others who sadly met the same fate as him, a child who is confused and scared. so to basically put it freddy is a tragic character just like the monster.

"There's no mascot connection!"

This complaint confuses me because you can have a fnaf/mascot horror matchup that doesn't have that mascot connection but is still great like for example.

FOXY VS BLADE (PUPPET MASTER)

SPRINGTRAP VS RUVIK (EVIL WITHIN)

CIRCUS BABY VS LEATHERFACE (THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE)

THE PUPPET VS JASON VOORHEES (FRIDAY THE 13TH)

And I could go on but to put it simply you sometimes don't need that mascot horror connection to make a mu great.

"The interaction potential sucks!"

I really disagree with this complaint because you can have great dialogue potential no matter what version of the monster you're using.

If you go with the film adaptation you can have both freddy and the monster basically children who are just "playing" only for it escalate with both becoming more aggressive do to them basically being lost and scared children.

If you go for the book version you can have it basically be magneto vs tetsuo where the monster slowly starts to see freddy as not a bloodthirsty robot but as the scared child that he is with the monster deciding to put freddy out of his misery.

Also freddy can speak put you can frame him in this slasher like feel like he's stalking his prey (that being the monster) with him being more animalistic but he has spoken before so you can have him use some of the voice lines from his animatronic body to form full sentences.

"The monster being in a pizza is goofy!"

While yes a zombie in a pizza is kinda goofy we have seen a another zombie character in fnaf who has been in a pizza before "springtrap cough, cough" plus you can make the pizza look like it is in a state of decay and it being covered in darkness.

"Frankenstein's Monster being in the modern day is silly!"

While I do understand the monster being in a different time period is weird but personally for me it's not too big of an issue because we have had death battles in the past that have both opponents from different time periods like for example obi wan vs kakashi or zuko vs todoroki plus you can make a explanation for why the monster is in the modern day by having him trapped in ice just like the universal movies where he's stuck in there until the modern day where he manages to escape.

"The fight potential sucks!"

...like what? The fight potential is great like there are multiple scripts showing how this fight works and there amazing. Like for example you can have freddy stalk the monster through out the dark halls of the pizza with the monster having to use his intelligence to try and fend freddy off also the ending can be thematic as hell while also being deeply emotional.

Plus here are some of the fight script's i mentioned if your interested.

Conclusion:

I really love this matchup and while this matchup is an odd pairing if you look close it's two deeply tragic characters who never asked to be made into these creatures in the first place.

Before you ask, yes, Alucard vs Alucard is a 1st april episode
