Photo post Pham Cong Tac (1890–1959) — Spiritual Leader of Caodaism, Vietnam, 1948

Pham Cong Tac was one of the founding figures of Caodaism, a Vietnamese religion established in 1926. He is pictured at the Holy See in Tây Ninh, wearing elaborate ceremonial robes and seated on a symbolic serpent throne.

For this colorization, I carefully researched the historical context, traditional garments, and religious symbolism to recreate the colors as faithfully as possible while preserving the original photograph's details.

Original photograph: LIFE Magazine archival collection, 1948.

Help Needed Any tips on coloring neon scenes?

I want to color a photo like this, where I am fully aware of the color of the tower’s neon strips (the tower glows neon red at night). Does anyone have any tips for how I can get a good realistic glowing red hue? Or just a realistic bright light color? I‘m not sure if this is worded how I want but I think I brought the point across.

Check out the tutorials here in the sidebar

Requests can be made in /r/ColorizationRequests

Community Rules:

Treat others with respect:

Name-calling, harassment, and threatening behaviour will not be tolerated here. The mods can and will ban you if your behaviour is inappropriate. Otherwise, you will be given a warning.
Original UNALTERED black and white photo needs to be included:

Every post must include the original UNALTERED black and white photo (it is just a matter of paying respect to the original photographer). If you can provide a link to where you found the photo, that would also be a good thing to add to your post via a comment.
Every post title must be an informative title (DATE must be included):

Every post title must be informative, for example, Name, Location & Date; all other information can be included in the post as a comment. If you are posting a W.I.P. (work in progress), please include that at the beginning of your title and use the W.I.P. post flair. If no date is known, state at the end of your title, "Date unknown".
Not see your post?:

If you are not seeing your post, please politely get in touch through ModMail it is very possible your post may have been caught up in the Spam filter, which is controlled through an Autobot (please don’t be abusive; it will get you Nowhere but banned)
A.I colourizations:

A.I. is allowed in this sub if it is used as a base colour. Meaning if your colourization is very clearly done with just A.I., the mods can and will remove your post until you can provide evidence that the colourization was done manually or with a little help from A.I.
User flairs:

This sub allows user flairs, so feel free to include your social media handle as your flair. Rude language will not be tolerated, and the mods have the right to remove your user flair if it is deemed offensive. (Repeated warnings will have you banned).
No Sales, No tips (money tips) and no requests

No links to sale sites of any kind, No Money tips and No colourization requests. You can visit /r/colorizationrequests or /r/estorations if you want your photos done.
Links to your social media are allowed:

If you would like, you can include a link to your social media pages (FB, Instagram, etc.) within your post, but it must be Photo Restoration and Colorisation related.
Using other people's colorised photos:

Please get permission from the original colouriser before posting, and don't post someone else's colourization just to get Karma (it's selfish and silly)
