Theres no identifying features or name on it but its super thick and soft, very absorbent with a wave like pattern with dots. Its basically like a paper blanket plz I need to make sure I can buy more of these and never go back to bounty again helpppp

Any ideas on how to clean it to make it look new would be appreciated. I bought it and the next day got a free vacuum from a friend that was moving so I don’t need this one anymore. Problem is that my roommate used it to clean flour and the whole thing is crusty now.

Tools/Equipment Bought new scrub daddies a couple months ago. This is what’s left in the sink today after washing about 5 mugs - what’s going on?

I can’t believe how quickly this is disintegrating. The blue one is the same. I’m having to pick pieces out of the sink every time I wash up. My old scrub daddy lasted literally years! Has anyone else noticed the new ones being significantly worse quality??

Tools/Equipment UPDATE: Deteriorating Scrub Daddy was a fake!

Post image
11k Upvotes

If you saw my last post about the barely used scrub daddy deteriorating at a rapid pace, here’s the update! I got in contact with scrub daddy, but they also reached out to me over Reddit. I bought the product off Amazon, and it looked very real, complete with heaps of 5 star reviews. However, Scrub Daddy themselves have confirmed that it was a fake, and kindly sent me some real replacements. Looking forward to testing these out 🧽

Thanks to everyone who told me that fakes were rampant, and for the advice! Above is a comparison - brand new, the fake looked identical. The only difference is maybe it was slightly less rigid out of packet?

Tools/Equipment I'd say my new steam cleaner works.

Each grout line is taking about a minute to clean. I scrub in light circles, letting the steam do the work. Wipe up the dirty water with a cloth and wring out.

I've never been able to get this floor this clean.

Is this normal? For a 5€ sponge I was expecting more. Its leaving pink debry all over the dishes. Is my grocery store selling step mommies instead?

Tools/Equipment O’Cedar Mop…allow me to de-influence the 5 people who haven’t bought this

1.1k Upvotes

I believed the hype about this mop and spent years passing it up in the stores, thinking the spin and the brush was what I needed for a simple but nice clean. I recently moved and needed a new mop, so I got the version that separates the water.

I am stunned that so many people love this thing. First of all, I am 5’7” but this mop is SOOOOO short it literally feels like something a child would play with. It is ridiculously short and I hurt my back using it. (Like mopping with a paint brush). Once I accept that I will have to bend over to clean, the actual mop head is not plush enough. So as I mop, the edges of it are constantly hitting and scraping my floor. It truly feels like something that belongs in a play house and is not fully functional. The best part is the fact that the water separates itself, and spins dry, so I love that. And if I bend over enough and keep it super straight it works okay, with little room for error. But it holds so little water that I can barely get through multiple rooms without needing to refill it.

I’m sorry, you all really gassed this product up and beyond it being child’s height, it truly doesn’t work better than the old swifter we got years ago, and certainly no better than a traditional mop from the dollar store.

If you love it I’m happy for you, truly! But I just hope to save one person’s money. Just at least save the box so you can make a return if you don’t believe the hype also. Because I was completely sent off!

Update: okay, I absolutely did miss one of the telescoping extension places (the wine that is all the way at the base). So I was not fully extending the handle. That said, it added enough that I take back what I said about mopping with a paint brush, but it could still be longer in my opinion. But I totally missed that. I also think if several other people seem to have made the same error, hmm design flaw?

Also, does not change my overall opinion. The scraping is still ridiculous to me for the cost. It should be much more solid. But from comments it seems that the double chamber mop (which I have) is in fact worse than the original. I still would not spend money on this, way too expensive for worse than bare minimum to me.

Tools/Equipment My roomba ran away and I can't find it anywhere, any tips?

2.0k Upvotes

I think it got out the door when we were leaving and holding the door open trying get the dogs to come back inside. Sometimes my cats do the same thing, but I did not find the roomba up a tree or napping on my neighbor's porch swing. We looked under the house and all around the yard and sidewalks. My neighbor asked if we were looking for a lost pet, I said no it's the vacuum cleaner. Maybe if I put its dock outside, it will smell it and return home.

Update: We finally found it! It got in the van of a family down the street using their wheelchair lift.

Tools/Equipment ISO of REAL vacuums, not the cordless trendy dysons

Hi all- looking to buy a real adult vacuum cleaner. We have a dog with relentless shedding and I need my house CLEAN. I’m talking the vacuum cleaners our mother would lug all around the house with a mile long cord while they cursed our father’s names. The ones cleaning ladies use to gaslight us into thinking we need them weekly. Plssss

Tools/Equipment My DIY specialized tool tip: Plastic pill box I reused to thread over the vacuum nozzle so I can vacuum dust out of kids toy storage boxes

Thumbnail

6.0k Upvotes

This is a very simple way to maintain the kids toy storage boxes dust free and reduce the amount of deep cleanings you have to do! This way, I rarely ever have to dump everything out and clean the bottom of the boxes. As the kids dig around in there, most of the dust naturally settles at the bottom anyway, so all you need to do is swivel the vacuum around the bottom a bit, and the boxes feel so much nicer to dig around in again.

I’m talking like personal favorite, can’t live without it, life changing cleaning tools and supplies, things you would include in your top 5. Are you choosing the pink stuff over soft scrub? Do you have a vendetta against Fabuloso?

Tools/Equipment I kid you not, this actually works!

1.6k Upvotes

My partner and I usually schedule our general cleaning during last weekend of the month, in our experience you can wipe the top of TV with a clean finger and it'll come back as dirty as my working shoes. I thought it was a myth, but after proper and consistent use of dehumidifier in our home, We have less dust and mold to clean.

My fellow cleaning enthusiast (I'm not using freaks cause we all kinda just want things properly clean). Don't hesistate to use a dehumidifier, If you're thinking or looking for a sign to get one, this is it!

Got a used truck that was "freshly detailed". Everything I use this thing it impresses me. I'm too cheap to buy the actual cleaning solution, but some diluted fabuloso works wonders and leaves a great smell.

I have hand washed them three times now and soaked them in sanitizer once. The smell did get better but they are far from useable. You cannot disassemble them further than taking the lens out. Any tips?

I’ve had this grinder for ages and would like to give it a clean up. Someone suggested boiling it but I don’t want to risk ruining a pot. Any other suggestions?
