Built with Claude I replaced my Samsung TV’s home screen with Claude Code

Post image
537 Upvotes

Samsung’s home screen had turned into an ad billboard, so I asked Claude Code to build me something simpler: a clock, the apps I actually use and my consoles.

The trick that made the biggest difference was faking the handful of TV APIs the launcher relies on. That let Claude and me work on the layout and remote navigation right in my laptop’s browser. Every tweak was a quick refresh instead of a new install on the TV, which made iterating together really fast.

Taking over the Home button was the tricky part, since Samsung offers no official way to do it. I followed the CleanFrame approach: a small helper that edits a few undocumented TV settings, saves the original values first and restores them if anything goes wrong. I’ve only tried it on my 2022 Q70B, so be careful with other models.

Productivity I used Claude to fix my Samsung TV

3.1k Upvotes

I saw a video online that prompted claude to fix an android TV. I have a Samsung one so I asked it to do the same. It found its not android but Tizen, then wanted a webcam pointed to the TV as it worked.

I didn't have a web-cam, so it set up a small website, told me to browse to it and connect my phone, and it took photos every 4 seconds. It couldn't be bothered to type the URL, so instead generated a QR code image, told me to scan the image on the phone, and enable camera. (this qr code is just to a local server)

Then it spent the next 30 minutes changing all the privacy settings, telemetry capture, disabled a bunch of unnecessary apps. It deleted the advertising ID that Samsung built on our TV, rearranged all the icons, and disabled all the un-used apps.

It then decided to build an app so I could achieve the Apple TV-style home screen request. (Daniyal TV!)

It even built an app so I can control the shortcuts, background images and settings

Then for whatever reason, it got interested in a clip of a cat and watched that for a while ...

The future is now!!

Prompt:

My Android TV is slow and full of ads. Find it on my Wi-Fi, connect over ADB, and debloat it: disable the manufacturer's ads, telemetry and junk (reversibly, never uninstall), asking me first about apps and features I might use. Then build and install a fast, minimal Apple TV-style home screen with a dock of my favourite apps and rotating nature wallpapers. Back up before changing anything, check every step with screenshots from the TV, and give me a restore script.

Built with Claude Building an Online Pixel RPG with Claude

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi Everyone!

My fiancee and I are building a cozy and competitive Online Pixel RPG using AI tools to assist us. We are combining the type of games that we both love to play.

Looking for some feedback on how the visuals / gameplay look! Boss fight starts around ~38 seconds with a "phase two" at around the 1:10 - 1:20 mark.

First impressions? Thoughts on what could be improved or changed? From first glance does it look like something you would be interested in playing?

How we build it with Claude: We use Claude Code with Opus 5.5 for much of the day-to-day mundane work. I use agents to assist me in writing the code (game server, combat, browser client, map tools, etc.), and run mundane tests / checks. My fiancee uses Claude agents to assist with art and review screenshots against our art rules. I also use Astra as a second critic / to review some of the work.

Happy to answer questions! One question we receive a lot is if the art is purely AI generated, and the answer is no. It's a combination approach. My fiancee does art as a hobby. She does the initial drawings and uses AI tools to assist in the various facings and frames. She also does most of the story boarding / world lore. I come from an infrastructure architect background and handle most of the coding, infrastructure and gameplay.

The website and Discord are a heavy WIP (many of the trailers / clips on the website are very outdated), we would love to have you join us and can answer questions there as well!

Built with Claude I gave Claude Code my parents' TV model number. It found the TV on Wi-Fi and cleaned out the ads. The interesting part: the prompt is mostly a list of things it must NOT do

Post image
333 Upvotes

Last Saturday my parents' TV played a sponsored ad before Netflix. I gave Claude Code the model number and let it work over ADB. It found the TV on the network, disabled 25 Xiaomi ad and tracking packages, and wrote them a simple home screen.

What made it work wasn't the clever part, it was the guardrails:

  • Back up the full package list before touching anything
  • Disable, never uninstall, so everything is reversible in one line
  • A list of packages it must never touch (setup, Wi-Fi, input, and on Google TV the one that breaks casting)
  • Ask before disabling anything the family might actually use

I posted the before/after, and it got a bit out of hand: over 4 days about 200 people sent PRs with lists for their own TVs, and it's now around 150 models from 50 brands. Most of the prompt's rules came from people's TVs breaking in new ways.

If you've used Claude Code on hardware like this, I'm curious what guardrails you ended up adding.

Built with Claude Exploring Opus 5.5’s potential in real-time VFX

Thumbnail

I’m a VFX artist, and I built these Unity effects with Claude Code (Opus 5.5) over the past two weeks: a fire explosion, a lightning strike and ice spikes. They’re real Shuriken particle systems in Unity, not video.

How Claude was used:

  • Build: Claude Code writes Unity editor scripts that create the prefab: particle systems, materials and texture assignments.
  • Review: another script captures frames with a fixed camera, random seed and timestamps, and tiles them into one sheet. Claude reads the sheet, decides what to change and edits the build script. The early rounds are its own; later rounds follow my notes. Each effect took 10 to 15 rounds.
  • Rules: a skill I wrote from my VFX experience, with production steps and visual guidelines. This made the biggest difference.
  • Textures: Claude writes the prompts, generates them through a Codex worker (codex exec with image gen) and reviews every result. (I wish Claude could generate images itself.)
  • Meshes: for the ice, Claude writes Python for Blender and runs it through Blender MCP: procedural high-poly crystals, decimated, with normal and mask maps baked in Cycles, then exported to Unity.

The gallery shows the three effects, then the ice spike’s iteration history, crystal models, textures and Unity setup.

Free to try: every material uses VFX Essential, my Unity VFX shader, which I refactored with Claude and released for free (MIT): https://github.com/excifroge/VFX-Essential-Shader

Next I might try combat VFX on animated characters. Updates on X: https://x.com/excifroge

Humor I used Claude Code to search every curated protein sequence for obscene terms (the longest match is STINK TAINT) NSFW

Proteins are spelled with 20 letters of the English alphabet, one per amino acid. Obviously I wanted to know which cuss words were hidden in the sequences, and Urban Dictionary was the biggest list of them I could get. I had Claude Code search for them with the spaces stripped out (so STINK TAINT = STINKTAINT).

The protein set is UniProt Swiss-Prot: 575K hand-curated proteins across every organism, 208.5M amino acids. Of the UD terms searched, 191,876 appear verbatim in at least one protein.

Among the short matches, human sperm proteins kept coming up. Sperm microtubule associated protein 2-like contains PEEPEE, spermatogenesis-associated protein 32 contains WANK, and sperm-associated antigen 7 contains FAPS.

Some of the best of the 19,184 matches seven letters and up:

Term Urban Dictionary definition Protein, organism Residues
STINK TAINT "When someone has a stink, and you don't know if it from the front or the back." Uncharacterized protein 467R, an insect virus 276–285
EAGLE FIST "An abrupt and unexpected fisting that causes the recipient to screech like an eagle while the fister screams 'Murica!" MTTP, human 808–816
STARGASM "Having an orgasm from anal sex or anal play. Comes from the [chocolate starfish] nickname given to the asshole." murA, Rhodospirillum rubrum, a bacterium 322–329
SHITTITS "An exclamatory phrase conveying sentiments of astonishment, surprise, anger, annoyance, bewilderment or other general feelings of shock." Protein SIX6OS1, human 338–345
PISSANTS "The burning, tingling sensation one feels in the penis while urinating after ejaculation." At1g53550, Arabidopsis thaliana 351–358
PITCLIT "when a fat girl wears a strapless top and the fat between her arm and shoulders forms a vagina looking fold." Maturase K, Angiopteris evecta, a fern 354–360
ASSPISS "When only pure juicy liquid comes squirtting out your anus." Protein piccolo, human 4022–4028
PEEFART "When urination is so strong and intense it causes one to fart" BSH, Arabidopsis thaliana 127–133
TITSMAS "The first spring day, in which girls first and finally show off some cleavage after a long winter. Men think of this day as something like, or better than, Christmas." azaA, Aspergillus niger, a mold 1183–1189

The word list started as 3.5M UD spellings from four public sources. Stripping spaces and punctuation, dropping terms containing B, J, O, U, X, or Z, which are not among the 20 standard amino-acid codes, and requiring four letters or more left 742K terms. Claude Code wrote the pipeline, the collector for Urban Dictionary's public listings, and a check that the protein sequence at each reported position really spells the term.

Definitions quoted from UD via the Hugging Face export, Bierner word list, 2016 archive, and UD's public listings; shared under CC-BY-SA-4.0.

If you open a new projet and ask Claude to summarise everything to know about REA and aks it to make some guide it will do the search then trigger a safety guardrail mid sentence and tells you this:

if you have tried it and had underwhelming results, it is most likely because Opus (and all claude) was told to not perform well when doing this type of task.

Built with Claude Every new model made my MMORPG better, so I never released it. Finally Open-sourcing it today before Fable 5.5 drops or I will be doomed.

Processing img uadc80we8wwh1...

I’ve been trying to open source my MMORPG for the past two months, but new AI models kept releasing. First, I built it with Fable, and it was GLORIOUS. I could run around the open world, hack monsters, take on quests. However, the graphics were meh. It had dungeons, but without roofs, and lots of floating walls. Essentially every character, monster, and world assets were public CC0 assets, and credits to KayKits and Quaternius as most of the CC0 assets came from them. Everything worked and I thought I was done...

Then came Astra. Wow! It could 3D model using Blender! So off I spent the next few weeks remodeling whatever I could with Astra. Custom gear, weapons, new buildings, new trees, grass. I sent Astra to rebuild all the dungeons so that they had proper walls and roofs. I replaced the CC0 monsters and character models with Astra made ones. I kept running out of usage limit on my ChatGPT Pro 20x (when they had 20x) plan, and so I was purchasing limit rests every 3 days for a few weeks.

Just when I thought I was for sure done, Opus 5.5 dropped. This model is a Blendering beast! So off again, remodelling the trees, rocks, grass, walls, all the buildings, and monsters. With Opus 5.5, I could launch a workflow and let multiple agents remodel in parallel the thousands of assets I now had, and still manage to make my usage last until the end of the week (I did use one free reset they gave out a few weeks ago though).

Anyhow, I was super ambitious with this game, and it still has a ton of rough edges. I have a lot of nostalgia about FFXI, so I really based this game's play style around it. I hear Fable 5.5 is right around the corner, I need to stop now while I am ahead.

Source code is here (MIT): https://github.com/philipqnguyen/vanai Feel free to clone, make PRs, whatever you want. There are instructions to self host.

The game is here if you want to try it out https://www.vanaiworld.com/
Yes, Opus 5.5 made the trailer, audio, it even signed in as multiple players to capture battle scenes for the trailer. I limited the game to just run in Chrome because it is currently more performant on Chrome.

Also, credit to World Of ClaudeCraft for being a trail blazer in the AI built MMORPG space. If you haven't seen them, check them out https://github.com/levy-street/world-of-claudecraft

EDIT:

Someone suggested screenshots...

So here is what it originally looked like on Fable when I first started:

Here is what it looks like now, character assets mostly from Astra, but monsters and environmental assets from Opus 5.5:

Built with Claude Built a live 3D airport with real flights using Claude Code

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I run a small exam-prep site for pilot students in India and have no CS background. Over the last few months I’ve been building this with Claude Code: a 3D model of Delhi airport that shows the real traffic live.

What it does:

  • Real flights landing, taxiing and taking off, pulled from from licensed , self hosted and public sources
  • Tap any aircraft to follow it, or sit in the cockpit
  • Aircraft are drawn in their real airline colours
  • Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad are live too, and it now tracks traffic about 50 km out

How Claude helped: I’d describe what I wanted in plain English (“the plane should slow down on the runway like a real one”, “the gear should fold into the wing properly”) and Claude wrote the code, set up the server, and built checks so a new version can’t go live if it breaks something. The hardest parts were making taxiing look natural and keeping it fast on a normal phone.

It’s free, no sign-up: airport.readyaviator.com

Happy to answer questions about how it was built.

Claude Code Workflow Claude Opus 5.5 on 3D modeling

Hi,

I am a 3D modeler and a digital artist. I have been working since the early 2000's in everything from 3DS MAX to lightwave3D. I have seen a lot of people post showing what their Claude managed to make. Most of the results are pretty decent considering most of these people don't know how to prompt this. 3D modeling requires iterations, measurements, reference images, moodboards and precision. Prompting Claude Opus 5.5 "Make me a human character" simple won't do.

So I am about to show you the real power of Claude Opus 5.5 when a professional 3D artist prompts it, and I think it's absolutely insane.

https://reddit.com/link/1xblwzf/video/kuzaoc31dtwh1/player

How? Well, you simply ask Claude to make the right tools. Everything that can be measured can be made by Claude. If you have a perfect naked body model laying around you can ask Claude to study it, measure it, and recreate it. These models and scenes used four 20x max subscriptions running constantly for 2 weeks also counting the time spent making tools to be able to actually do this. We made our own tools even for animation, since AI can have a completely different workflow, the human way is often a blocker. It doesn't need visual stuff like buttons etc.

After Claude has finished all of this I can easily go in myself and make changes. It even animates pretty well if you give it enough tries and time and I don't think we're that far from AI that can do absolutely all of it by itself and I can't wait to see what Fable 5.5 bring to the table, and how the world will change in the years to come.

I always start a project by setting the project rules. So for example I want housekeeping in the project and I also want iterations and having it compare everything to the moodboard and reference images. I also set a rule that Claude must think logically about why something exists and why it is going to make it before it even starts making something. I tell it no guessing allowed and do enough research on everything before you start and make notes of every mistake that was done along the way so you don't keep doing the same mistakes over and over.

In the Claude session I want one orchestrator agent orchestrating sub-agents. So I have that one control what the other agents do and make decisions. For vision you can use models like SAM3 and DINOv3 to further enhance its vision. Use Z-Turbo Image for image generation of you want that, but I like to make the art myself so I'm not entirely useless in the process.

For the sub-agents I'll first plan everything with the orchestrator agent. Then we'll spawn 5-7 agents with different tasks. For example one does grading, one does lighting, one or two does modelling and so on. The orchestrator can be looped since Claude has a 8 or 10 message cap limit if you do not message it and let it run. So put a loop up for every 1 or 2 hour to keep it going.

I will make a suite and upload it to github.

Feedback PSA - Buyer beware! Usage credit limits aren’t real limits.

Post image
67 Upvotes

I had a few hundred dollars of prepaid usage credits on my Claude account and set the monthly spend limit to $1, as I only wanted to use the credits if I had an emergency change to make on my site.

My usage page now says “$515.76 (spent) of $1 (my limit) this month.” 😂

Almost to rub it in my face, right underneath, it states that credits are spent “up to this cap.”

I was fairly sure I experienced a bug and contacted chat support to get it resolved, but their explanation was that enforcement of the “cap” can lag and requests already running can finish above the limit. When I questioned the wording, they let me know they “understand why ‘up to this cap’ reads as a hard ceiling.”

We had a lot of back and forth, but they were completely unwilling to budge when I requested a refund and basically told me to get f*cked.

They said they’d logged my feedback about the wording, but refused to restore the credits.

So, PSA! If you’re relying on that setting to protect your prepaid balance, please don’t assume it’s a hard stop.

I’ve learned a lesson and will NEVER use usage credits again.

Claude Code Anyone else loving this new software development workflow?

I've been writing code since the late 90s, but I've never considered myself a software developer. For me coding isn't that interesting, it's a means to an end. I always loved designing systems, workflows, and automation.

I've been reading a lot of posts from developers who hate that they can't code anymore and they became prompters, and I can certainly understand if you love the act of coding, this may be the case.

But personally, I love it. I'm being so much more productive and doing so many more projects. I think it also has to do with how you use the model. I use it as an assistant. I'm constantly planning with Claude, going back and forth with ideas, and going over concepts. It's far more fun than how coding used to be.

Anyone else feels like me?

Built with Claude I built 5 Claude Code skills that make game assets as code: pixel art, vector art, 3D, textures and sound (one scene made with all of them)

Thumbnail
gallery
20 Upvotes

I've been building a family of Claude Code skills where Claude makes game assets by writing code: no image model. Each one is a small JavaScript DSL with a live viewer, and Claude checks its own previews and fixes what it sees.

The five tools:

- pxl: pixel art (my fork of claude-pxl, adding hue-shifted shading, selective outlines and a lint that flags common pixel-art mistakes)

- vex: 2D vector art, with skeletal animation, Spine export, Tiled maps, particle effects and UI kits

- kiln: low-poly and voxel 3D, exported as GLB with animation, rendered in Blender

- loom: seamless PBR textures (albedo, normal, height, roughness, AO), which kiln models can now use directly

- chirp: sound effects and music, synthesized, with seamless loops and audio sprites

What's in the images:

- The Dragon's Hoard: a 3D vault in kiln where every surface is a loom material. Lava pit, torches, a dragon egg, gold.

- LAST CUP: one cyberpunk cafe, a lonely robot drinking coffee in the rain, made three ways (pixel art, vector, 3D) with a chirp soundtrack synced to the animation. The neon buzz cuts out on the exact frames the sign flickers.

- A pixel-art eldritch portrait, a forest platformer kit and the texture set.

The best part is the feedback loop. Every viewer has an annotate mode: paint on the art, pin notes, hit "send to Claude", then say "check the feedback". Claude gets the exact spot plus what's there. In kiln that's the 3D point and the line of code that built that face; in chirp it's the bar, the beat and which track is loudest. The portrait was directed that way, mark by mark.

All MIT:

https://github.com/uilianks/pxl

https://github.com/uilianks/vex

https://github.com/uilianks/kiln

https://github.com/uilianks/loom

https://github.com/uilianks/chirp

Big credit to crsolver for claude-pxl, which started all of this. Every tool shares its architecture: sandboxed source files, errors that point at the line, and a live viewer.

Which one should I push further?

Praise A place where Claude truly shines.

I just wanted to point out something for those of you who may be hesitant or unsure of where an AI like Claude could really help you.

For the last 15 years, I’ve suffered from an illness that is frankly, freaking weird. Because of the time and the extent of Dr visits, I now own a file cabinet full of reports, data and information. When my providers started using the EPIC system, I was hopeful that they would be able to get information about me and make accurate decisions. That didn’t happen.

18 months ago, I started uploading all of the data that I had accumulated into Claude. Today, a specialist reached out to me saying that they could fit me into their schedule and could I give them an understanding of what’s going on. It’s in a couple hours.

In 20 Minutes, I was able to parse all of the data, review the reports and uncountable tests that I have had, put that together in a one page synopsis for this Dr, who has never seen me before.

Claude has helped me save time, money, and avoid a stress-induced stroke with its ability to do things like this!

TL;DR This shit is fucking cool!

Built with Claude Singapore's air hit PSI 230 this week. I built a live haze map with Claude Code that shows where that air came from, and what tomorrow brings

Post image
264 Upvotes

Since August, smoke from fires in Sumatra and Kalimantan has been drifting over Singapore; the 24-hour PSI peaked at 230 on 18 Oct. I wanted one place to see the fires, the smoke and the wind together, so I built it with Claude Code: https://sea-haze.teyou.dev/ (free, no login, works on phones).

What it shows

  • Every satellite fire detection since 1 Aug, replayed day by day (13,012 in Indonesia on 8 Oct alone)
  • The smoke plume from Copernicus's CAMS model, including the next two days
  • Where Singapore's air had been over the previous 5 days, from a small particle model on NOAA GFS winds
  • Tomorrow's outlook: 31 NOAA GEFS forecasts drawn as a fan, plus a forecast PSI range (both labelled as forecasts)
  • A 10-scene story mode, in English, Chinese, Malay and Indonesian

How Claude was used

  • Claude Code wrote the code: the Python data pipeline, the map (MapLibre, no framework), the particle model and the CI. My part was deciding what to build and what the map is allowed to claim.
  • I ran it like a small team: several Claude Code sessions in parallel, each in its own git worktree. Every change starts as a GitHub issue and lands as a pull request with before/after screenshots, and one lead session reviews and merges.
  • The surprise was data cleaning. Raw satellite fire data includes gas flares, factories, volcanoes, sun glint and reflections over water. We wrote a rule for each and removed 51,922 false detections before the map was honest.
  • It now runs by itself: GitHub Actions refreshes the data twice a day, Cloudflare serves the site, and a small Cloudflare Worker warns me if the data goes stale.

Happy to answer questions about the workflow or the data. What would make it more useful to you?

Data: NASA FIRMS, NEA (data.gov.sg), NOAA GFS and GEFS. Contains modified Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service information.

Other PSA: The free banked reset expires TODAY/Oct 22 at 16:00 UTC, not midnight.

Here's the exact timestamp

Everyone's been saying "expires Oct 22," but nobody had an exact time, and Anthropic's help page only says it expires "on the day and time listed on the offer." So I dug into the network responses on the usage page.

The offer object contains:

"starts_at":"2026-09-22T16:00:00+00:00",
"ends_at":"2026-10-22T16:00:00+00:00",
"clears":["five_hour","seven_day"]

So it's exactly 30 days, from 9 AM Pacific to 9 AM Pacific. It expires Oct 22 at 16:00 UTC:

Time zone Expires
US West Coast (PDT) 9:00 AM
US East Coast (EDT) 12:00 PM (noon)
London (BST) 5:00 PM
Central Europe (CEST) 6:00 PM
Japan (JST) 1:00 AM Oct 23

That also explains why some people in Asia see "Expires Oct 23": the UI shows the date in your local time zone.

Verify it yourself (Firefox/Chrome):

  1. Go to claude.ai → Settings → Usage
  2. Open DevTools (F12) → Network tab, then reload
  3. Use the search in responses (magnifier icon in Firefox, Ctrl+Shift+F in Chrome) and search for ends_at or 2026-10-22

If you're in the US, don't wait until the evening. Use it before your Thursday morning or lunch break is over.
