General Help until I can get her to the vet
My 11-year-old cat needs to get to the vet. She has licked herself raw on her neck. It looks like it might be a hot spot, but I'm not sure.
It's a walk-in vet, so I can happily take her whenever I get her in the carrier. The problem is I have Parkinson's, so I'm wobbly on my feet, and I have not been able to get her into the carrier. She has taken to hiding somewhere in the basement. Haven't been able to find her until she comes out to eat.
I have someone who can help me on Saturday. Is there anything I can do for her in the meantime?

Leave a treat in the carrier and zip it when they’re in it

Unfortunately, I could leave a whole bag of open treats in there and she won't come within 10 ft of it.
When we got her, the paperwork said that she was originally from about 400 mi away from where we live. I think the ride in a carrier all that way may have traumatized her. Once I get her in the carrier, she will yell like she's being murdered and start to drool. She really freaks out badly from it.
I've tried Feliway and all sorts of treats. She's not having it. Sigh!

Do you have a neighbour you can maybe ask to help you? I don't know where you live but where I am from we also have vets that come to your house so I don't know if that would be an option? Otherwise maybe see if you can take a picture to send to the vet so they can tell you whether it's ok to wait till saturday.

Get her an e collar so she cannot scratch or lick it. They make soft ones on Amazon. Maybe you can find one and have it overnighted.
