Monthly self promotion/advertising post
I am going to give monthly posts a try. You can post a comment in each monthly thread if you want. Or just comment once. It’s all up to you.
The subreddit’s rules regarding self promotion, direct advertising, givaways etc won’t be strict here. Basically anything is allowed here. As long as it’s legal, and no spamming (multiple comments can be ok, while spamming would be worse).
Preferably, it should be related to candles, wax melts or accessories (such as candle warmers or candle holders) in some way.
Examples of what you can share here:
- Blogs, vlogs and podcasts.
- Your website and social media accounts where you sell products.
- Promote family and friends’s business/products
- Giveaways, contests and surveys
But it’s kinda open minded/flexible at the moment. So if you want to suggest people to check out other stores and their current sales, share great resources when it comes to candle making, recommend a candle warmer or anything else, you can promote/advertise it here as well.

Currently burning Why is my candle not burning right????
Sorry because I'm sure this question gets asked like 100 times a day but I'm new to candles, I just bought this one and..... Why is almost none of actually burning???? I had a previous one on a plastic container instead of glass and it would all melt before the wick started burning away. Is this just a crappy candle or....? Is it the glass container?
And most importantly, is there anything I can do to fix this?

Halloween Candle Dupe
My favorite candle scent is a Tuscany Halloween candle originally called Midnight Magic which was then changed to Witching Hour. Does anyone know of a candle with a similar scent? I'm on my last candle and I'd love to find a replacement.

Scents Looking for a similar discontinued Root candle scent
It was called Victorian fantasy. “a signature fragrance blend featuring a rich mix of citrus and spice—including orange, peach, nutmeg, anise, and bay leaf”

Candle making Beeswax rose candle 🐝
It was really simple to make and smells absolutely fantastic. The layers are really thin and flaky. I can’t get enough of the smell of beeswax.

Currently burning How do I stop candles for burning like this?
I've pushed the sides down so that more of the wax can get burned off but the flame just melts the middle. It's my second and I'm not really sure if all one wick candles do this or I'm doing something wrong.

Silicone Molds
Hey! Has anyone ever experienced warped molds!? Sometimes when I order them, they come in terrible packaging and they’re all bent and I’m just not sure if it’s possible to get the shape back.
I have some that are past the return policy and going to just start making my own since it’s really a hit or miss when you order them online. They don’t always come in boxes and come crushed!

Brands Where can I buy candles with natural wax but affordable? (uk)
I find paraffin candles are hard to breathe due to allergies, but they're what all the candles are made of in my local shops like Aldi, Home Bargains, Morrisons, and Søstrene Grene, unless I have missed something. I don't have a lot of money at all, so those shops are in my price range. I don't really have enough to buy them online unless they're still good value when shipping is included.
I also don't really want to make my own candles because I don't have the time or means, and I want different colours and shapes so I'd have to buy loads of equipment probably.
Where in the UK sells decently priced candles that happen to be made of soy wax or other natural wax?

Looking for a candle where sells natural candles cheap? (UK)
I find paraffin candles are hard to breathe, so I really want to use soy or beeswax candles for general use, but I don't know if anywhere does them affordably? Maybe not beeswax, but surely soy? The sorts of candles you get in Home Bargains or even Morrisons are either all paraffin, or don't say. Are candles that don't specifically say what they're made of likely to be paraffin? Or do some of my local shops sell soy wax candles and I've just missed it on the label? The ones in Søstrene Grene are paraffin, which is really annoying because they do unscented coloured candles in different shapes, and that's what I want. Also, it feels like a shop that would be all about beeswax. All these examples are the price range I'm hoping for, but I want to buy soy wax or any sort of natural wax that's better to breathe in.
I just don't want to spend loads more or have to buy from a bougie homeware shop just because they're made of natural wax. Also, I'd prefer to buy them in person so I don't have to pay for shipping, and I would have the option to smell them before buying if I'm buying a scented candle. I can see soy and beeswax candles on vinted and etsy, but the shipping and extra fees quickly add up so it's not really as worth it compared to nipping to Søstrene Grene and spending like 70p per candle.
I also don't really want to make my own candles because I don't have the time or means. I want different coloured candles for spellwork, tealights for my wax burner, and candle sticks for general use; I don't really want to have to get loads of equipment because I don't have a lot of money. (idk if I used the semicolon right) I just like using candles to light my space because electric lights stress me out most of the time. I have considered trying to make tealights from my wax melts because they're soy, but I don't know.
I know I probably sound too snobby and picky considering the fact I have no money, but I'm neurotic, superstitious, paranoid, and I have allergies lol I just want some better quality candles

Wax melts dupe of huntington home magic potion from aldi
hello! my spouse and i became obsessed with the candle/melt "magic potion" from huntington home at aldi. it was limited edition, i guess? and we cannot find it outside of ebay at a higher cost than i'd like.
it was kind of a tobacco, vanilla, something-else scent. it was really good. wondering if anyone knows what i'm talking about, and if you have a suggestion for a possible dupe.
thank you!

Looking for a candle A candle that actually smells like a Borders or Barnes & Noble?
So far I've tired both Dio's "Bookstore" candle and ChiCandle's "New Book Pages" candle. They both smell great (with the latter edging out I think) but neither of them are exactly what I'm looking for.
I've heard of Frostbeard Studio's "Bookstore" candle and was wondering if that was close to a B&N smell. I've seen people say that the "new book" smell is tied to memories and is different for everybody based on a book they may have fond memories of, but for me it's always been the smell you get when you first walk into a Borders. I was shocked when Barnes & Noble had the same exact smell, so it must just be the smell that happens in large bookstores when they have a ton of books there. I don't get this same smell at small/local bookstores nor at used bookstores. The fact that it's able to be recreated in multiple large stores gives me hope that the specific scent can be/has been captured in candle form, as I love lighting book candles when reading.
So I'm looking less for "library/old book" and instead for "new bookstore".

Looking for a candle New to Warming. I like heavy scents. Lots of smell please!
I have a candle warming almost all the time. One thing I hate is splurging on a BBW candle and they don’t smell at all. My hubby is dropping hints on what candles I like. Help a gal out?

Turn a regular taper candle into a drip candle
Are there ways to turn regular taper candles into drip candles? Maybe this would work with other thicker candles, too. How can you do that? I find drip candles very expensive and am looking for an alternative.

Fragrance notes for Aspen Bay Kelsey II?
Aspen Bay used to produce a line of candles titled Kelsey II. Would anyone here know what the fragrance notes were for that name? I've been told that Kelsey II was renamed Seminole Wind and was Curio Brands item AB-2-SEM before it was discontinued under that name also.
Thanks

I let my friend choose these candles
So…I asked my friend to pick some candles for me since he went on a sale haul. YSL 37 is a bit too strong for me! 😬 Anyway, what should I try next?
Also, I’m NOT knowledgeable about how to make candles last longer so any tips would be appreciated! When I bought my very first luxury candle, I used the candle warmer ALL the time until the scent was gone, but the wax was still there. 🙈😭 Help a girl outttt 🙏🏻

Looking for a candle Best Candles for Candle warmers?
What brand of candle do ya'll use with your candle warmers for the longest lasting scent? I find that BBW is a hit or miss. Some of the scents last a long time, others seem to rip through the scents quickly.
What candles do you think last the longest? I'm a middle school teacher so i need something that can outwork the smell of 120 kids moving in and out of my class after gym each day. 🤣

Candles and diffusers
I've purchased a couple of Quince's candles (fig and balsam scents). I really like them.
I saw that the fig came in a diffuser so decided to try it since I like the candle scent so much. The scent was crazy strong! Even with one reed in my large open space, I couldn't handle it. (Even wrapped up in 3 plastic bags in the closet, the smell was cloying!) I gave it away.
Anyone else had the same issue?

Candle making Has anyone tested 12–14% fragrance load in coconut-soy wax?
Hi everyone!
I’m currently experimenting with a coconut-soy wax blend with a melting point of approximately 48–50°C (118–122°F).
I’ve already made a few candles with a 10% fragrance load, and the cold throw has been amazing! They’re still curing, so I haven’t tested the hot throw yet.
I’m really curious about experimenting with higher fragrance loads, specifically 12% and 14%, in container candles.
I know these percentages are above my wax supplier’s recommended maximum of 10%, but I’d love to hear from people who have actually experimented with higher fragrance loads in coconut-soy blends.
● Have you tried 12–14% or higher?
● Did you notice a significant improvement in hot throw?
● Did you experience any issues with fragrance separation, sweating, or wick performance?
● What type of wax and wick worked best for you?
My goal is to achieve a strong hot throw, and I’m interested in understanding how different fragrance loads affect scent performance.
I’m planning to make two small test batches and would really appreciate any advice, experiences, or lessons learned before testing their burn performance.
Thanks in advance!
