Social Justice Unless you so called allies didn't get the memo, Black People are CLOSED

There is a protest at my a family member's job and they came to her to get in that line and lose money at work.

What? The audacity as when she was passed up for promotions from other minority folk for their friends no one stood up for her. Never.

They didn't understand that Black People are not doing that shit anymore. We are not out there protesting for y'all like that. We are tired and always disrespected.

We did all that and nobody really stood with us. Y'all kept your heads down and kept it pushing and called us lazy and complaining. Remember?

So now they come to us to get as many black faces out there as possible because the reality is without black Americans cosigning your issue it is not relevant.

You all need us more than we ever needed you.

We don't hate you. It is not in our nature as a people to hate like that. We are just realist. We will be polite and respect. We may even break bread. But we will not be used.

By all means to people wanting to support whatever, protest in your best interest. But just remember your black face makes what they do matter. Your black skin makes it legitimate. You are the magic that makes what happens.

FYI collective bargaining means that whatever they get applies to everyone. So let them be targeted and lose money. Why can't we keep our heads down and cheer from the back like everyone else has done for decades? Let THEM be the shield.

I'm still out protesting and will do it right up until my last day. Im a fight for my rights woman and forever will be. Just has to be the right protest for the right reason.

26

u/xx_maknz 7h ago

No. I am allowed to hate. I am allowed to be impolite and disrespectful. I am allowed to keep my bread to my damn self. I am allowed to do anything that anyone else does because I am a human being. Feelings are human. Don’t tell me what emotions I feel or don’t feel. If I feel hate for someone in my heart, it is for a reason. And it is my responsibility to handle my anger and hatred in a way that does not perpetuate the cycle. But I can only do that by feeling its presence. I can only change a reality that I accept and understand to be true. And the truth is, I have a lot of anger. And it is justified. And I hate that it’s there. And because I hate that it’s there, I will take reasonable action to improve the circumstances of the world around me so that less people have to feel this way.

Yeah imma still vote and protest because we are not a monolith. Speak for yourself

18

u/HistoricalMud5518 6h ago

I will vote. I am not marching until after the primaries. I went to No Kings last year and was the ONLY black person. I felt like a fly on the wall. However, they spoke about the black community and how they were warned. It was quite nice to hear. So, I have no problem letting them lead this one. The Allegiance is valid.

You are right we are not a monolith.

I’m not sure I understand the post. What happened?

To me (a white man lmao) it sounds like she's refusing to be in any ICE protests. The most prevalent attack on other ethnicities I can think of. 🤷

This is a bot and propaganda. Look at the posting history. This person likely isn't even black.

-30

Look at my posting history. I am black AND have varied interest. Because black people have varied interest.

I am curious what makes me less black ? Because I'm a nerd with strange interest? I wanna know in your mind what would make me black enough?

this is the most CIA ass post I’ve seen in a while. I’m not gonna get into an argument with you but just know that there’s no such thing as individual activism. You either advocate for everyone or you advocate for no one. Liberty is not for one people, but all people.

88

u/ConversationOk74 8h ago

This is ignorant and detrimental. I won't address it because it looks like paid propaganda. It's most important to protest these contentious times. If not for self, for neighbor, friend or ally. Any American abused is all Americans hurt. This attitude in the past would've been seen as clearly inhibitive.

7

u/Capital-Self-3969 6h ago

Lmao we have done that, for a long time with little to show beyond what scraps we earned with our own blood and tears.

Yall have to stop accusing anyone of being bots just because their experience isnt convenient to the narrative you want follow.

-11

u/Siren_Noir 4h ago

It's operatives that make sure that all black people remain in one narrow way if thinking with narrow interest. They tend to go through post and profiles to make sure that the person has all the "correct" black interest and if they don't they attack that person and question their blackness.

Its probably the most racist white supremacist thing anyone can do is police what is black and what is not black when it comes to profiles

4

America reacts more violently to non white faces protesting so these events should be mostly or all white if they’re going to succeed

This Part. I have ppl who depend on me and a lot to lose. And I understand how little concern this country will have if my Black body is a casualty. My grandparents suffered under Jim Crow. My parents marched. And I am applying for visas.

u/Writeresq 8h ago

I was an idealist and I introduced my kid to protests. The current political climate has been an eye-opener. 1. When they shot a white woman in the face in white Minnesota and there were no repercussions, I decided my Black behind would not be stepping out of my house to protest in the streets and become fodder. 2. I see little evidence that the party that I support has any strategy to address the systemic issues that got us to this point. It feels very much like party leaders are content to wait out bad cycles and use them to build power later. Lots of ppl die during the bad cycles. So I use my vote as my protest and I have turned my focus to wealth-building and planning an exit strategy from the U.S for my loved ones and me.

5

u/normallllyyss 8h ago

Trump in office has been pretty good publicity for Democrats. That's all they care about. both parties love war and violence, the Right just sanctions the violence openly against their Americans (those they don't care about)

They have no issues with people dying, starving, etc. if they can stay in office

6

u/Siren_Noir 8h ago

Debbie Wasserman-Shultz, a white woman ran against Black people for a historically black seat and won with Democratic support.

I like to put that fact out there and do with it what you will.

9

GTFOH with this cointelpro bullshit

19

u/Freightliner66Studio 9h ago

What happened to the fatigue? We’re lazy low-IQ savages who contribute to nothing, don’t they remember?

12

u/Junior-Gazelle-4646 8h ago

Who are you talking to tho? You’re carrying that sentiment around with you and using it to undermine causes that have nothing to do with that. A racist tells you that you’re low-IQ and then you decide not to protest anymore for workers rights? How is that even related and why are you imagining the protestors as racists?

4

u/normallllyyss 8h ago

How did that comment undermine any cause? This is why y'all shouldn't be speaking in here if you're not one of us... Just nonsense for the sake of nonsense

7

u/Junior-Gazelle-4646 8h ago

I’m black but I’d love to hear how you decided I’m not?

The OP is undermining black peoples role in labor protests. They are making it sound like a work protest is an issue that doesn’t pertain to black people and that personal grievances about a promotion are more important. The person I replied to piggy backed off of OP and started attributing unrelated racist remarks to the situation as if somebody who works with OPs relative made those comments.

Do you understand how trying to make a labor protest sound like it was organized by “black fatigue” racists can undermine the protest?

1

u/normallllyyss 8h ago

I came to that conclusion by the wild mischaracterizations you keep making.

Black people sitting out a protest doesn't undermine it. Asking "what happened to black fatigue" isn't alluding to the organizers in any way. Working to keep making money isn't saying that the issue doesn't affect me.

You're just a nonsense machine.

You talk like one of them, so I assumed you were. I still think you are or a bot, but I'll take your word for it

6

u/mimenet 8h ago

Crossing the picket line does undermine the strike. And that strike is being conducted by government workers. I bet you that a huge portion of that strike is Black people. Even though I don’t totally disagree with OP, I think undermining a strike is maybe not the best idea. If they have more reasons than the ones presented, that may make a difference.

1

u/normallllyyss 7h ago edited 7h ago

I can partly agree with that. Idk if there was a literal picket line, but people choose to unionize or protest all the time and some people will always sit out.

I've been in a work strike and there were definitely people who still worked that day, but we got what we wanted out of it in the end. If you can't pay rent because of a protest, you can sit it out imo unless we striking for more money

Regardless, the OP comment here was a question of "why would they even want our help?" since we're XYZ any other time.

The other guy started talking about undermining the protest and whatnot, which asking a question does not do

2

u/Junior-Gazelle-4646 7h ago

Funny how you can “partly agree” in this thread but have to argue with me in bad faith like I’m making no sense at all lol. To reply to OP and immediately start talking about black fatigue, they think we are savages, what happened to that shit you was talking, etc. absolutely undermines the protest. I think you’re being obtuse on purpose.

-2

u/normallllyyss 6h ago

You made lofty claims about undermining causes bro, you and this other commenter are not the same.

They said clearly "crossing the picket line does undermine the strike" which can be true. Not always true, but can be. I've seen firsthand that a strike still worked despite some scabs, so i partly agreed

What YOU said is just a complete mischaracterzation of the comment you replied to or what OP story was about.

3

u/Junior-Gazelle-4646 8h ago

I just explained my point pretty clearly and respectfully. You’re saying I talk white, I’m a bot, I’m a nonsense machine lmao. But I’m the one mischaracterizing? Got it 😂

-1

u/normallllyyss 7h ago

Lol no one said or implied any of the things you responded with.

You jumped from undermining the protest, to undermining black people's roles in protests and that the protesters made racist remarks.

No one said anything that would've given a rational black person that impression and if you made a clear point you wouldn't need to jump and pivot so much

You're still all over the place and your point was never very clear

2

u/Junior-Gazelle-4646 7h ago

What do you want me to do dog? explain it to you again? It seems like other people understood with no problem. I’m not going to spend all day hand holding you through this while you keep questioning if I’m black, a rational black person, etc.. you’d have to at least stop being antagonistic for this to be productive at all.

If you’ve made up your mind, go on with your day and let the upvotes/replies speak for itself.

If you want me to keep trying to get through to you, can you explain how the comment I initially replied to relates to the topic of the OP? Let’s start with the actual context that I was responding to.

0

u/normallllyyss 7h ago edited 6h ago

Lmao if you think upvotes determine who was right in a conversation, I can't help you. You're also losing to the original comment, so I guess you've been wrong this whole time...

The comment you replied to added on that any other time we aren't needed, we are lazy, low IQ, etc. so what happened to that energy?

You said their comment was undermining the cause (not explaining how). That was your original comment

You pivoted to:

  • They were undermining black people's roles in protests. (They made no implications about black people's roles in protests, you just pulled that out of your ass)
  • Saying they were making it sound like a work protest is less important than a personal grievance (idk what the protest was even about so can't make claims on "importance) which is completely unrelated to what the comment said or explaining how it undermines the protest
  • They were making it sound like the protestors were the same people as those that say "black fatigue"

a. They might be

b. Feelings about the organizers do not affect or undermine the cause

c. It was a comment on the general perception of black people, the comment you're replying to doesn't know the organizers so this was just a nonsense straw man from the beginning

I don't want you do "dog" anything except stop trying to guilt black people into fighting for causes they don't want to fight for. We don't have to fight for anyone or anything but ourselves and of OP's friend decided that this cause wasn't for her, then so be it. Everyone else does that, but when black people do it, we're "undermining" the cause without explanation... And that's why you didn't sound black imo

Since you're so busy and think your hand-holding me through the multiple hoops you've made, feel free to stop responding any time, this is completely optional. Complaining about a reply you voluntarily to wrote is also nonsense

I took a second to think. Maybe you don't actually know what "undermine" means or the connotations: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/undermine

1

u/Junior-Gazelle-4646 6h ago

Brother I asked you a direct question, can you answer it? How did their comment relate to the OP? What did you understand them to mean and how does it relate to the story OP told?

Even if you’re going to use AI, please delete the extra parts that don’t pertain to my direct question. I’m not going to read it. Thank you

u/Siren_Noir 8h ago

Well then you go out there and lose money when you will benefit anyways.

6

u/Junior-Gazelle-4646 8h ago

Didn’t really respond to anything I said but alright

3

u/Siren_Noir 8h ago

Why can't they protest and lose money and be targeted? Why can't we black people cheer silently with our heads down like others did for 70 years? Collective bargaining means that whatever they get it works for everybody.

9

u/Junior-Gazelle-4646 8h ago

I’m confused, is your priority standing with what is right and what we can do to better the conditions for black people? It sounds like you are more concerned with “proving a point” to white people by parroting what we’ve seen racists do to us. I think that’s why it’s important to be principled. Even if it feels good watching white people squirm and fail because you’ve decided it’s karma or retribution, the reality is that the worsening conditions of our society will continue to affect us at the bottom more than the people you’re trying to get your getback from. It’s cutting off your nose to spite your face when it comes to a labor protest. I could see if they were protesting work to bring their dogs to the office or some shit, but not labor movements cmon. We should be at every fucking meeting.

The CIA would be thrilled to find out black Americans have become so disillusioned they don’t even care about building labor coalitions anymore

1

u/BatDaddyWV 4h ago

Crossing a picket line is one of the worst thing any human can do. You want to benefit from others sacrifice while sacrificing nothing yourself. You are actively helping ownership oppress you and your fellow employees. Lay out of any protest you want if you don't care about people other than yourself, but crossing a picket line makes you a party to actively screwing over your coworkers and they will treat you accordingly when everyone goes back to work.

13

u/DefinitionSmall3754 9h ago

Most non-Black people have chosen a side and I'm happy to see that some of us peep game amd are acting accordingly.

4

u/Mera-Dimelo-52 9h ago

I always find it interesting when the allies want us to do things for them while giving us absolutely nothing in return.

0

u/Siren_Noir 3h ago

No they give us their ass to kiss after they use is to get the benefits for themselves

10

u/UnversedComet50 9h ago

Im not totally out on still fighting for others issues as there are many out there that will help fight for ours (i.e. Palestinians). But I will always understand why many in the black community are done until we get the help we deserve

1

u/normallllyyss 8h ago

I hear you... It's just tough because if you go back in history nearly every other group tried to own us - including them Native Americans and Palestinians

0

u/UnversedComet50 8h ago

And I dont blame you for feeling that way. There isnt a single group of people on this Earth that hasn't wronged us immensely throughout human history. But the history between Black Civil Rights and Palestinian Rights, their shared struggles, and both groups coalition leads me to be more open to at least fighting for them. But mainly just them

2

u/normallllyyss 8h ago

I totally understood your position from the beginning. We're not a monolith, so fight that fight for them

History just tells me that if tables turn, they aren't going to be out there for us unless it affects them too. I fully believe they'd all rather own us than "deal" with us when we are struggling

0

u/UnversedComet50 8h ago

And i agree but I wont switch up on this current age group of Palestinians until they show otherwise. Ive given up completely on everyone else tho

1

u/Siren_Noir 7h ago

No, there is no share with black people from their side. Absolutely not and they will tell you this if you ask them. They will tell you they are different and they think if race amd the construct differently. The only thing we have in common is that they are not white.

For me, that isn't enough.

0

u/UnversedComet50 7h ago

Ive talked with many Palestinians personally and I know that to not be true. There are many like that but I have not personally seen or interacted with any that would give me the assumption that they feel this way. Will I say its impossible? No because like I said no one has been hated by everyone on this planet the way we have. But as of now that is not the impression or reality I have faced

9

u/AggravatingSpeaker52 8h ago

2

whats the issue/protest?

2

u/Plotnik1934 4h ago

It sounds like your family member is at a workplace with a strike or picket line at it, and you're saying they should cross the picket line and scab on their coworkers.

3

u/Siren_Noir 3h ago

Yep. And wave from the window and wish them luck.

6

u/Plotnik1934 3h ago

Yeah, how about you don't scab on striking workers? That's the bare minimum level of solidarity asked. You're only playing yourself when you scab. The other commenters on here are right; you're glowing. Pushing corporate interests in the language of racial justice.

FWW, I agree.

3

u/No_Row780 7h ago

Being a slave to your wages, all the time isn’t in your self interest and it’s also not in the interest of the community.

Protest is central to the African-American experience. And I would say in a broader sense. It is the catalyst for much of what makes America great, in so much as that protest is a form of patriotism.

The civil rights movement taught the world how to protest without amplifying violence. So I’m not gonna relinquish my right to protest. Not when so many who came before us gave so much so that we could continue the struggle.

Let’s not get distracted. Let’s continue to be strong and brave.

2

u/ateam1984 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🖤🩶🤍🤎 2h ago

Amen. We need to flip the script. We aren’t racist but we not getting in the ring for everybody else when they don’t do it for us. This is why I’m skeptical of anyone but us Black people. These politicians talk a great game but if you listen closely none of it is about making Black people equal. It’s all bs as if the inequality in America is to be accepted. Where TF are our reparations you so called allies???

1

u/Ok-Seaworthiness2302 6h ago

Totes agree, except on two points. All people have the capacity to “hate like that.” One could argue that by hoping they lose money through the bargaining process, which in turn hurts black employees, could be an example of that kind of hate. I know you didn’t mean it, but the last part makes it sound like you’re asking others to sacrifice for the greater good. That’s a form of protesting, but not a good one. 😂

2

u/WhichHoes 9h ago

It was something related to the about face turn of being made "the issue" then discarded when a new thing came along, that left a bitter ass taste in my mouth.

Black Lives Matter was important until China, then Palestine. I never have any discourse for those affected and those suffering, as their pain is just as valid. I do have an issue with the people who claim to be allies and then move on, when the original propagators of hate very much stayed on topic - they just expanded the hate.

6

u/normallllyyss 8h ago

Lmao remember when they PASSED LAWS against Asian hate because of like 3 incidents (1 being an incel that couldn't get a happy ending)

We have daily government violence inflicted on the black community and no one gives a damn until something's set on fire. Even then, no laws are ever passed just for us

5

u/WhichHoes 8h ago

If they are, they are against us lol

0
