Britain's first black female officer

What is actually remarkable is that she didn’t have a terrible time as a first black female officer. Apparently most of the antagonism came from outside of the police force. That surprised me to be honest. She had a good career and eventually worked in Missing Persons.
Up until the early 80s the British police were extremely corrupt. This included involvement in crime, being threatening, and also being especially coercive towards minority communities. She would have had an awareness of this, and all the same chose to break barriers. She must have been brave, and her bravery paid off in a career she made her own.

Thank you for sharing. I can’t imagine what she would’ve went through in those days. RIP Ms Allen

Gotta change the narrative somehow , we can’t have all WHITE police officers. We need representation of everyone in there.

Nah, 70 years later and we’re still talking like this? Gotta build our own and stop trying to integrate.
