1st Year Prime Ark Freedom - Winter Treatment? (9A)
I bought one of these as a lil guy a few months ago, put it in a 7 gal fabric bag under full sun and it has exploded.
My question is that with it being in a fabric grow-bag, should I move it in over the winter, put it in the ground NOW & leave it outside over winter, or? I do plan to move it in the ground next spring, but this was a funky year with garden plot lay-out so it didn’t happen.
I do have an indoor grow tent for other veggie starts but I usually don’t crank it up until Jan 1.
If I missed any pertinent info, my apologies.

Cranberries: a secret stash :)
They are still quite pale, but I don't see how they can get proper colour while buried deep under such a dense foliage.
You wouldn't guess there were any berries here at all if you were just passing by :)

What’s this thorny berry vine in my yard? Zone 7A SW, Missouri
galleryHi all! Had a mystery plant pop up in the spring that now has dark purple berry clusters all over.
Hard to discern one plant from another so there may be multiple growing together here. Berries are roughly pea-sized with a variety of thorns on a super flexible vine with teardrop/heart shaped leaves with deep vertical veins.
Thanks in advance for your help!

What types of berries are these?
Just noticed these berries growing in my yard and wondering what they are and if they are edible. I live in CT if that helps with identification. Thanks!

The Strawberry I Love: Its French Roots and Brilliant Red Color
The modern garden strawberry is a hybrid and its scientific name is Fragaria × ananassa. The multiplication sign in its name indicates that it is a hybrid, meaning it originated from a cross between two different species.
Two important wild strawberry species contributed to its development:
- Fragaria virginiana — commonly called the Virginia strawberry, native to North America.
- Fragaria chiloensis — commonly called the Chilean strawberry, native to the Americas, including Chile.
A French botanist Antoine Nicolas Duchesne has carefully studied strawberries and documented their characteristics. In 1766, he published Histoire naturelle des fraisiers, a major work on strawberry plants. He identified the hybrid origin of the modern garden strawberry, helping explain the relationship between its two American ancestors. A modern scientific review describes the early plants as “spontaneous hybrids.” In simple words, this means the plants crossed naturally in cultivation rather than necessarily being created by a deliberate experiment.

Safe to consume berries?
Hi, so I found this singular section in my backyard where raspberries started growing, we didn’t plant any seeds. I’m guessing some bird or animal left them and it started to grow. So I’m wondering if these are safe to eat, any toxicity?

Identify berry please
Does anyone know what kinda of berries these are ? I find them all over my yard. Not sure if it’s coming from a tree or shrub. My dog always tries to eat them. And she just had one in her mouth chewing on it and I yelled and she dropped it. I’m hoping they are not poisonous!!

Suddenly wrinkled leaves on boysenberry and black raspberry plants
From what I understand, this kind of wrinkling is indicative of pests - but I’m not seeing any! Have they gone, or is it another cause? (Zone 10b) TIA!

Proud owner of a new patch
Spent all week getting the raised bed together. Got everything in the ground yesterday. 3 blueberry bushes (Patriot, pink lemonade, and Chandler), 2 raspberries (Jaclyn and Fall Gold), Thimbleberry, and Triple crown blackberry. Excited to enjoy the fruits of the labor.

Would you still refrain your blueberry plant from flowering the first year if you bought a bigger plant?
