I've done this a couple of times in my Dodge dart from the monsoon rains.
Tip 1 (and really the only tip)
If you decide to do this, you must fully commit and do not under any circumstance let off the gas. The second water makes it's easy in the exhaust then you're screwed.

Yes but youre leaving out a few extremely important details:
Stay on the gas, but keep your engine in the low RPM range. This way if you DO suck in enough water to hydro-lock your motor, you'll at least stand a small chance of not destroying it entirely.
Slow and steady. Plowing into the water at speed will almost assuredly immedietly drive water directly into your engine's air intake. This must be avoided at all costs.
Follow your wake. You can see after he starts getting in deep, a wave-front forms at his front bumper. Keep the peak of this wave in front of your vehicle and follow it. Dont get ahead of it. Behind that peak, the water will form a valley where the level will be lower than the water surrounding your vehicle. Ideally, this lower level is right in your engine bay where your air intake is located.
These are the keys to having the best chance of keeping your engine from being utterly destroyed in your now otherwise completely ruined vehicle.
Also, water in the exhaust really isnt going to hurt anything. It's the other end you need to worry about.

Really all just comes down to ground clearance of the air intake. A bunch of us would sit around the mud holes and pull out the smaller bronco II’s and old 80 toyos that just weren’t tall enough to ride :))

As if that is gonna prevent it from flood damage. We are seen a vehicle devaluate, like -$30,000

What would the specific damage be, water in the engine?
And if that did happen, wouldn't the car have stalled out there?

Water is not compressible so when it gets into the cylinder it wreaks havoc; damaged rods, crank, pistons, head, block.

"We didn't design it with this in mind. We just set out to build a better SUV to take you where you want to go!"

Video looks like it could be in UAE. 100% Iis how a local would tackle that. If it dies, it dies, but I'm trying to get to Arabica for coffee with the boys.

just keep your foot on the accelerator and you're golden. nissan, honda, GMC, donut matter. commit and good luck. or, turn around don't drown. that's the best option.

This is stupid beyond belief. Most drowning victims in floods are people who drive into water.
