I mean but this is the point: they keep pushing the boundaries to see what they can get away with. Cod didn’t go straight to ridiculous skins, they did exactly what DICE and EA are doing now and slowly creep closer and closer until they can put whatever tf they want in because people will still be saying “lol i don’t even pay attention to skins”
Yes, pretty much. People somehow think that when we say that BF is steering towards cod type skins, we mean "wwe, fallout, nicky minaj, american dad, ..." skins right now. Like no, but at some point if EA sticks their head in with this, then its going to be like that. Like you said, Cod didn't go from military skins straight to outrageous skins. Oh and i didn't even mention human sharks or horses skins.
EA are testing how far they can go with it and once they hit a wall, they pull back slightly and stay there.
CoD has been dipping their toes in with the wacky shit since BO3 (The whole emote dances at the end of a match)
But during MW2 with Warzone 2 coming and then MW3....then it went overboard. Streamers, celebs, soccer players, an actual fucking Space Marine and Gundam? King kong and godzilla? Superhero's from The Boys?
For a collab, these 2 skins are tame and have some actual tactical kit on them compared to.....this
Even Helldivers got shafted more with their 40K collab
Facts, but I’ll never drop the fact they made a reskin for this game that is almost entirely purple for the coyote assault dude. Not over the top but like wtf? It don’t even look good😭
It does break immersion, but at least Nicki was a real ass person. Beavis and Butthead felt like a straight fortnite move, and made the games vibe shift to this really unrealistic feel. I miss when COD wanted to be realistic, but still made people 4 to 6 shots in core just to make the game less stressful.

I do actually. I am a Skinwh..e and it really pulls me right out of the immersion. I love to play dressup and have put around 100,- additional Euros in to the game since launch. And we are at the point where i want an "Turn cosmetics off" Button.
This Season dropped the Ball so massively on the cosmetics side, i dont think they can recover this game artisticly speaking.
Oh I do. Loads of people started wearing the blue camo outfits and I thank them for it, as 9/10 its a human player and the bigger threat. Made it easy to prioritise targets.
Literally. How can this be fun for anybody? Its 3 dollars for an entire game and people are just on here whining and crying "I want a remaster of BF1 for 60$ plus a 40$ Season Pass! But make it look exactly the same!!"

Old game, pretty quiet by now. Lot of modes and maps you don't get to see anymore. But boy, do you get a lot of conquest in Sinai and Ballroom Blitz until you're sick of them.
Then go play it. I've been playing BF6 and BF1. Like I said before and I'll say again...BF1 was the last great true to form Battlefield. It doesn't look a day over ten years old. It's cinematic and gorgeous. I remember I used to say this about it when it was new and recieved a lot of hate. Now everyone glazes it. They will do the same with BF6 in ten years when more Battlefields drop. I think BF6 is the last one I buy to be honest.

I personally have never even noticed other peoples weapon skins in-game.
Top Gun is definitely more grounded for sure, it’s just a Halloween event skin. Shoot Madden even has a Halloween event yes, I know it’s the same company. I won’t be surprised if COD won’t have an event they usually do or something. If you don’t want to use the skin don’t use it, it’s that simple.

Except the actors play a character, and that character is in the game.....You think the campaign guys are nobodies too? Murphy and Hemlock have been in semi populair tv shows and Kincaid is voiced by Tony Curran, the guy who did the SAS voice in CS:GO probably one of the most famous voices in the gaming world
It was a jab at the older style of COD trailers where they would have big celebrities running around in a fully CGI world based on the game.
If it was a jab at the concept of arcadey fun and the player almost seeming like a hero then the rest of that trailer would’ve been vastly different… seriously, it feels like most people just watched the first 10 seconds because the rest of it is still a little goofy.
Meh. I can give Top Gun a pass since "Rooster" and "Bob" are not some farfetched concepts. During my time in service, I met plenty of aviators with even crazier callsigns and even more elaborate helmet livery. "Pothead", "Rainbow Bright", "DILF" and "Homer (Simpson)" come to mind.
I am constantly getting flack online for saying I don't like Crossovers and Collabs. but I really dislike them. No matter how much you prioritize your own aesthetic, a crossover event is inviting this kind of behavior into your game.
Also, while sure some of the skins are pretty silly......it comes nowhere remotely close to modern COD.
Call of Duty is straight up in fantasy cartoon world at this point. To compare these skins with some neon colors on them to what COD has going on is ridiculous.
The first Dead Space rifle looks cool and would look great in a Sci-Fi game, apart from the unnecessary drill battery on the bottom of the pistol grip. That being said, I don't want it in a grounded Battlefield game, looks ridiculous.
Too many people buy this shit for our concerns to matter. Play until you dont want to anymore. Dont buy the skin. Dont concern yourself too much with a game that will be replaced within a couple years. Sad to see, but money talks.
I find it funny how COD this year tries to be a bit more grounded (They probably will still add goofy skins 1 season in) and now Battlefield switches to these goofy skins
Who cares about skins etc seriously? Just play the game. The game is far too fast paced to even notice or care what someone is wearing or what gun skin they are using. Just shoot people and have fun. As a newbie this has to be the whiniest game group I’ve ever been in lol
I get wanting the game to look "serious," I like that too. But some people have a combination of the world's thinnest skin and an unquenchable desire to be angry about something.

I've ssid it before and I'll say it again. I genuinely have looked forward to every season until this one. The whole Area 51 and Vegas maps I have zero interest in. Then we got the AI skins which I have even less than zero interest in. I tried to like the new season but after playing for 20mins I just closed the game. And it's not like I'm playing Wardogs (doesn't really interest me either). I just think I got to enjoy BF6 for about a year and this is where it ends. It's a shame because it has been a fun year but this season is just a meme to be honest.
Called it during the beta. Anyone with a brain could tell battlefield was heading this direction in bf6. By far their worst entry to the series, and they made hardline..
At this point it's not even worth complaining anymore, true Battlefield fans are long gone, only occasionally watching news from the sidelines. The only ones left are the hardcore loyalty shills, that will take, buy and encourage anything EA throws at them, for whatever reason, until the next best hypee AAA slop game comes along. Player numbers, queue times and just talking to anyone outside reddit tells you the true state of this game real quick.
Already saw a dead space skin in escalation. This compiled with the over extreme tank nerfs thats made them feel like cardboard. And the continued matchmaking problems... I think i might be done with this game.
are we forgetting that one of Battlefield's most iconic weapons is a literal Sci-Fi Railgun.
I personally don't really mind the weird weapon skins, it's only noticeable in COD or Fortnite because sometimes the skins look completely and utterly out of place (Eg. American Dad in BO6 or whatever). at least the Dead Space skins look passing for military gear that you might not even notice cause you're playing the game.
