Battlefield 6 MAA is now the strongest tank.
Something I never thought I would say. I planned on skipping this season with the silly nerfs to tanks, but wanted to try the buffed MAA. It now gaps tanks and it's not close.
Why is the MAA so good?
Good question;
- is not impacted by the regen changes that cause regen to restart with shooting. this is also bugged and seemingly causing the regen delay to stack, which is leading to 22+ second regen delays. MAA doesn't have to worry about any of this
- handles like a dream. quick, nimble, and small frame. very easy to position and dance around the map
- anti-armour rounds are actually anti-everything. shreds infantry, shreds air vehicles, shreds light vehicles, and can contest tanks surprisingly well
- said anti-everything rounds are also very easy to use. minimal leading needed, reload quickly, and no longer have to aim beside infantry (as much) to hit them
Attached was my first game with the MAA this season. I do not have a lot of experience with the MAA (level 20-something), but I ran through this lobby. Every air vehicle insta-died, infantry could not contest me, and tanks were too slow to challenge me.
For reference, my KPM with all tanks is in the 2.6 - 3.1 area. The MAA had no issues surpassing this. As I get better with it, this will only improve.

And yet people on this sub are still bitching about the attack chopper

I will forever maintain that thermal was a mistake, but I was 2-3 bursting them from across the entire map. Lmao.

Because las vegas doesn't have a AA tank in conquest mode and its a neutral heli so only one team gets one. Abit of playtesting this would tell you this is a stupid thing to add to a map like that lmao.

The earliest leaks of that map showed a Scout helicopter for each team, which would have been a really horrible idea. But yes, flag assets, especially asymmetric ones have proven to be pisspoor for gameplay.

The new buff to the MAA reminds me of the 2042 MAA. Absolutely shred almost everything.

If they want to rebalance MBT/IFV they really need to remove the shooting regen penalty entirely. Ridiculous you can't even defend yourself while retreating. AA and Stationary is way overtuned, honestly it is boring to play with how braindead easy it is now. 😂

BF3 still the last time they actually had sensible MAA vs air/armor balance . And it's most likely staying that way. Â
Other than them being slightly too weak vs infantry. (They were way OP right at launch fwiw, the impulse mechanic they tried once and never reimplemented into the series was a bit wild too)

Still playing around with it, but running anti-armour primary, high velocity secondary, thermal smoke, and enhanced loading.
Anti-armour is the star of the show here. Everything else is kinda whatever.

Now when you guys subsequently create better heli pilots I don’t want to hear a single word. Can’t nerf skillðŸ˜ðŸ˜

Cool another nerf to air. Why not just make cod if your player base turns into cod players when it comes to dealing with vehicles.

Imagine if it had the slow regen. You would never get back to full health in that thing.

Been my favorite even before the recent changes. It's hilarious to rush an mbt and wedge yourself underneath it, they can't aim for shit and just get lit up from the bottom
