Who’s buying these XM’s? And how’s the experience?
Came in to BMW to get my car serviced. Decided to check out the sales floor and seen this XM. For any owners how is the experience driving these? What price are you even buying these at, because the MSRP on this particular one was 162k. Didn’t get a pic of the window sticker but looked at the website and that’s what it’s priced at.

My friend let me borrow his E92 M3
Title speaks for itself haha. What an absolutely exquisite week spent in that car. Jerez Black, V8, what more could you want? Going from my E90 328 to this made me want more out of life lmao. This car blew me away, I’m beyond grateful.

Why is the speed display so small and the gear (D) so large on the Panoramic iDrive?? Is there any way to change it?
There are lot of things I love about this new interior but I am very confused on why BMW would choose to make the speed so small when that's what I'd be looking at the most unlike the gear which could just be a small letter/number in the corner. This is on M Sport mode in the i7 M70 btw. Is this how it always looks or is there a way to change it?

Repair Help Any way to fix this?
Back seat was folded down and apparently there was something under the seat, and it left an imprint or indent on the leather. Anyway to smooth this back out, really hate the look of this now.

2021 X7 B58 Blown at 30K Miles — BMW Only Offered $1K
I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone has advice on what else I can do.
I have a 2021 BMW X7 xDrive40i with only around 30,000 miles. Back in January, the engine suffered a catastrophic failure. The oil pump failed, and the engine block ended up with a hole in it. The engine was completely destroyed and needed to be replaced.
I contacted BMW North America to see if they would help cover the cost of the engine replacement, considering how catastrophic the failure was and how low the mileage was.
The only assistance BMWNA offered was $1,000 in goodwill assistance, conditional on having the repair performed through an authorized BMW dealership. For an engine replacement through bmw costing over $25,000, $1,000 barely makes a dent in the cost.
I also brought the situation to the New York State Attorney General. However, they essentially told me that BMW had already offered goodwill assistance and that the vehicle’s warranty had expired. I didn’t get anywhere with that either.
I’m having a hard time accepting that a 2021 BMW with approximately 30,000 miles can suffer catastrophic engine failure due to an oil pump failure, leaving the owner responsible for an enormous repair bill, with BMW offering only $1,000 in assistance.
I understand that warranties expire, but I feel like an engine failing this catastrophically at such low mileage deserves a closer look.
EDIT: I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE ENGINE WITH A INDEPENDENT SHOP.
I’m looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with something similar.
Has anyone experienced an oil pump failure that destroyed their B58 engine?
Has anyone successfully gotten BMW North America to increase a goodwill offer after initially being offered a small amount?
Is there another department at BMW that handles serious engine failures or customer escalations?
Would it be worth consulting an attorney about potential legal options?
Has anyone successfully challenged BMW over an engine failure outside the warranty period?
I’m not necessarily expecting a free engine just because something went wrong, but I do think a catastrophic engine failure at only 30K miles deserves more consideration than a $1,000 offer.
I’d appreciate any advice, especially from people who have gone through a similar situation with BMW.

What was your second choice?
What was your second choice on the day you bought or leased your current BMW? Also, if you absolutely needed to replace your Bimmer tomorrow, what would you choose? (I own a ‘25 M440i xDrive Coupe — pic in the thread; the backup choice on the day I placed my order was an M240i.)

M-ish M440i - 1st time showering together
3 weeks into owning this 2022 M440i and it was due for a wash. These cars are cool AF and I can’t recommend them enough to someone in the market. My car wash process: Ryobi electric pressure washer with a foam cannon in the following order: rinse, 1st foam (rainx car wash), rinse, 2nd foam (chemical guys hydrosuds), sponge, rinse, microfiber towel dry. Let me know if yall have any recs on the process. I love washing my vehicles- my dad and I would wash the cars on sunday when I was growing up and he passed away 11 years ago. It’s my time to decompress and have a chat with him. Cheers to everyone and drive safely- until you can drive safely AND like a dick then go for it!

Buying Help Buying a used 2018 330i xdrive question?
i’ve checked out a few BMWs of exact model by now, but this is the first one with the M-sport trim but this lacks the front cover on the engine I think is what it’s called but the guy there said like oh I can open up the other BMW’s and they won’t have it either, which is clearly a line because I have photos of another one from another dealership that does have it and I attached another image that shows rust and he said it was from like the steering something I’m not too sure anymore, but is that superficial or is that a serious issue that needs to be addressed as well? This car is priced at around $20,000 after fees in taxes and has about 67,000 miles on it. blue exterior and cognac bloomed dakota leather interior. is this a fair price?

Stumbled upon the X5 Press Event
Was staying at this hotel and they were hosting media/press X5 test drives/reviews. They let me sit in one for a few minutes. A few thoughts:
The seats were phenomenally comfortable and the interior finish was nice. I currently drive a Q5. I can’t believe you can’t even control the air vents by hand, absolutely insane to me.
All the paint colors looked really good. There was one that was grey metallic with a little gold under, pretty awesome.
The door handles look like purse hooks. Tech is there just for the sake of it being there, not to add anything of actual value.
The front beaver teeth grill is blah and looks very plastic.
Lots of serious guys speaking German all around.
Fun to see it randomly

2026 BMW X5 M60i Offer
Ok X5 pros - what is a realistic offer for this x5 to seem like a fair deal? Doesn’t have to be the best deal but I see others share x% discount off MSRP and looking for that range.

Repair Help BMW Recalls
So I just had my car checked by a BMW representative here in my country and they found an active recall for the EGR COOLER but are refusing to do the repair free of charge due to the fact that my car had its mileage changed before being imported.
The key shows 106.000km and the car has 68.000km.
Since this is a safety recall, shouldn't they be obliged to do so? Even if the mileage was tempered it has nothing to do with the defected part.
Any one has experienced this? What are your suggestions?
I asked them to send me the oficial reply by email
I'm based in Mozambique.
It's and f30 320d with the n47 engine.

M-ish I’ve had my first BMW for 30 days now
This is my 2019 330i M Sport which happens to be my first BMW. I bought this 1 month ago, put about 800 miles on it. I absolutely love this car.
I also have a 2019 A4 that is essentially my daily that I’ve had since June, I also love that car.
But there is something about the BMW that makes me smile. Every time I walk into the driveway I appreciate this car. Every time I start it, drive it, there’s just something about the car that stays with me. I feel good driving it, and enjoy things I never did like hand washing it and detailing it.
With that being said, I am about to add a stage 1 tune and an MST intake to start. I’m also going to add a splitter / diffuser / side skirts in a few months, probably a valvetronic exhaust as well as a downpipe. I can get it to burble occasionally, but I wish it did have a little more sound to the exhaust.

2017 BMW 440i M Sport Acquired
First time poster, long-time lurker here. Finally purchased the car I’ve been looking at for years.
Car was purchased with ~115,000km at CAD $29k in Edmonton. I thought this was a pretty good deal, granted it had two prior buyers that fell through on financing and pricing was slightly reduces.
I went the gran coupe route as I enjoy my outdoor activities and find it extremely practical.
I ran codes on the car just before purchasing and had a PPI done and misfires on the second cylinder were apparent. I replaced the spark plugs and fuel tank breather valve and gave it a new battery as voltage was treading on the lower side. No leaks came back from the PPI drivetrain inspection (incl. valve cover, oil filter housing, oil pan, timing cover, rear main seal, power steering).
Does anyone have recommendations on action items for preventative maintenance? I’m thinking of doing a transmission service and the serpentine belt and rollers between now and ~150,000km.
I have following this subreddit page for a while, which has been super informative for years.

Repair Help BMW Driveshaft Recall
I have a 2023 bmw 540i xdrive and just got this notice in the mail about recall 26V-525, driveshaft recall.
Evidently you have to take your vehicle in so they can “assess” the damage and if it’s not damaged they will put an “adhesive” in the joint where the driveshaft connects to the rear axle. If the wear is significant they will replace the driveshaft and rear axle differential.
This was a custom order from Germany purchase I made in 2022 and it cost me $75k USD.
Is it wrong to demand dealership to replace them regardless of wear? Applying an adhesive sounds like a bandaid to me.
Just wanting thoughts from other owners and potentially bmw techs if any are in the channel. Thanks.
