In Canada, just about any fast food place has taken a nosedive off a cliff in terms of quality and bang for the buck.

You can literally make the same kinda things at home for the same if not less money for a family, or just spend the same money and go to an actual restaurant.

I worked at A&W when they would have their 2 Can Dine for $X.99 specials, and the X was always a low number like 5, 6, 7, etc. Now, a single basic burger is $12, and a combo will be closer to $20.

There's no way that cost of materials has grown that much since the 90s to support a price increase like that.

A&W is expensive but at least still good. I will continue to support them.

Yeah my wife says the same thing, she worked A&W when she was in high school and can’t believe how expensive it is now. Material costs have increased, but not that much.

Especially considering the margins on fries and pop have likely largely stayed the same, yet the profit margins have quadrupled at least

I can remember after hockey games, half our team would pile into our cars and head to the 24 hour Wendy's, we'd all have some form of 2 can Dine coupon we got in the mail, or the Double up on Dave's Double(2 combos for one), it was always like 2 for 8.99 or something like you said.

At least you get poutine everywhere like a civilized society!

One thing I’ll give Canada, at least in Quebec where I visit fairly often, is the number of 24 hour joints. Especially dine in.

Sadly going extinct in the USA.
