What harmless thing instantly makes you think, "I don't trust this person"?

I have a thing about people who call people nicknames quickly too! Massive red flag in my books. I knew someone who did it and she turned out to be a terrible, destructive, manipulative person. She got people onside quickly and then manipulated them to turn against other people. Gross. Other things she did: change her dress style to appear to be someone you had more in common with; acted protective and like she really had your back against all those bad people out there; she saw crime everywhere and was extremely suspicious of strangers (turns out it takes one to know one); master at triangulation; a lot of guilt tripping and other manipulative tactics.

Oof! That sounds like a nightmare. It usually is the people who loudly position themselves as protectors that end up being who we need protection from.

That’s the biggest red flag to me now! I knew a girl who wouldn’t even touch other people’s metal objects because she believed it carried energy. Now I know she’s actually a witch who hexed people at work regularly to get ahead and she’s the one who would actually use this against someone. So by trying to act scared and innocent she was actually giving herself up as someone to be protected from.
