These days he's not much anymore live, but 15 years ago? He was top notch! I saw him around that time, it was amazing. These days, it's very much hit-or-miss. His regular tour dates (I was at one of them) are pretty 'meh', but when he does a special event (like Outlaw Festival) he brings his A-game.

man, what I saw in 2009 was not top notch. I don't know if he was on drugs or drunk or something but it was a total mess. I brought a girl with me who's dad was a huge huge fan, and when we got out of the concert she looked me dead in the eyes and said "I'm not telling my dad about this"

Like not even that he was bad, she was gonna straight up deny she ever went to a Bob Dylan concert.

He's notoriously like that for his concerts. He mumbles and doesn't acknowledge fans. He rearranges his music to the extent that it's unrecognizable.

rearrange seems generous. I'm a bit of musician myself and the dude played the same 3 lazy chords on the keyboard for all of his songs all night. "now this time I'll do it while I mumble slur tangled up in blue lyrics instead"

I feel like he performs nowadays as if he has nothing but contempt for his fans.

I've heard that all my life. But I went to see him perform with Willie Nelson last year and he was definitely not great, but not terrible either. I was expecting much worse. He must have his good days here and there.
