This is a project I've been playing with for the past week. It's basically just an LSPosed module that re-enables the unused Sing slider in the Android app, and hooks it to an actual Neural Network for Stem separation. It runs incredibly well on recent Snapdragon devices since it can leverage its dedicated NPU through their official library: the most lightweight model present in the app (MDX-Net 1-9703) peaked at a processing speed of 60x Real-Time on my Snapdragon 8 gen 3; but basic support for GPU and CPU acceleration is provided for other devices as well via MNN.
As a bonus, the official Apple Vi-NNet Neural Model is available in the app purely for comparison purposes for the time being, although it runs very slowly.
If anyone is interested in trying it out, builds are available on GitHub: https://github.com/22cms/sing-for-android. All you'll have to do is install the app patch your Apple Music (preferably 7.0.0-beta) with LSPatch in integrated mode, or just use LSPosed/Vector if you are rooted.
I'm not sure if I will actively support this project in the future, as my main motive for making this was just to prove a point: Apple could very well port many AI-powered features to Android, they just don't wanna have to deal with it; but we'll see!

Hey everyone,
Just a quick heads up for anyone setting up their audio gear or wanting to test the Spatial Audio / Lossless catalog.
Found that this official Apple partner link is still working:
Opens directly inside the Music app on iOS or Android.
Hope it helps anyone testing out the platform!

i really like listening to recordings of live sets from my favorite artists and DJs, but i've always found it annoying that my own recordings don't have the metadata that the sets in the AM library does, so i made a little tool that does it for you!
you import your long recording, paste in a tracklist, and the app spits out a folder of individual tracks with song titles, artist names, and cover art. it then shows up as an album in AM that syncs across all your devices.
this was a hobby project and i'm not trying to make money off it- there's no in app purchases, analytics, or even a tip jar. everything stays local to your device!

hey everyone,
about two months ago i posted here about the Apple Music client i've been building for 1.5 years and asked what you'd want from it.
i honestly wasn't ready for what happened next. that post got so much feedback. i tried to reply to as many of you as i could, and i read all of it. a lot of it changed Joi. some of your ideas are already in the app, some are on the list, some made me rethink things i was sure about, and some i'm still thinking through.
somewhere along the way a small community started forming around this, here and on X (Twitter). i didn't expect that at all, and it's been one of the best parts of building Joi. so first: thank you. really.
about dates
i owe you some honesty here. in that post i said i'd ship in about a month. then i said one more week. i missed both, and i've missed dates before that too. every time it happened i felt like i was lying to you, and i hate that feeling.
so this time i'm not giving a release date. what i can promise is this: there's a TestFlight now, and i'll keep updating it often until launch. you won't have to wait for a date to use Joi anymore.
requires iOS 26.
what this beta is (and isn't)
it's not the launch version. it's a pre-launch beta, built to answer one question: does Joi hold up for people who aren't me? different listening habits, small libraries and huge ones, older iPhones and new ones.
most of what i'm testing is stuff you won't see:
since i made a point of it last time: Joi doesn't collect your data. there's still no Joi server and no account. your library, listening history and stats stay on your device and in your own private iCloud, and i can't see any of it. the only thing Joi can send is anonymous crash and performance reports. in the App Store version those are optional and off by default. in this TestFlight beta they're switched on, because catching crashes is what this beta is for.
and everything is unlocked. everyone on TestFlight gets Pro, no paywall.what's switched off on purpose
you'll see "🚧 Disabled in this version" in a few places. that's expected. some features aren't finished or polished yet. i'd rather turn them off than let them touch your library in ways i haven't tested, or show you something i'm not happy with yet. for now that includes:
about the UI
some screens are unfinished and some are just wrong. that's on me, i rushed to get this build to you. please don't judge the final app by them.
what would help me most
just use it the way you normally listen. if something breaks, feels slow or plays the wrong thing, take a screenshot and send it through TestFlight, or tell me here. your device and roughly how big your library is help a lot.
and same as last time, the bigger questions are still open: how do you use Apple Music, and what have you wanted it to do for years? keep them coming. that's how Joi got to where it is.
thank you for the patience, the ideas, and for still being here. seriously.

Apple Music India doesn’t have the cure and several other songs like earrings and a bunch of Conan gray songs. Is this a temporary issue cause its been over 2 weeks

I kinda hate how apple music seemingly draws a name out of a hat for how they pick the version of the song that appears in the top songs section.
For Michael Jackson specifically, why are the 5 thriller songs, in this top 14, split across 4 different projects instead of just using Thriller? They got it “right” with Smooth Criminal since it’s from Bad but the 3 other songs are split into 3 different compilation albums.
Michael Jackson isn’t the only one this happens too but it’s one of the worst i’ve seen.

These pop up every song, it’s getting annoying. How do you get rid of it?

The little thing near the name of the song

A while ago I saw a playlist , called ‘your introduction to’ - or something similar. And it was a playlist of the first songs you listened to from your top artists.
The app then refreshed then I never saw it again - it was in the Home tab I’m pretty sure.
Looked super cool and I’d love to listen to it - does anyone know where to find it again?

Hey! I’m building an app called TuneTok to help people discover music by genre, place, and era.
It’s built around Apple Music, and I’m looking for 10 people to try it out and tell me what they think.
All you need is an iPhone on iOS 27 with Apple Music.
Just use it casually and tell me what feels confusing, slow, or just not fun.
I’m aiming to take 10 testers. Comment or DM me and I’ll send the invite!

Is anyone else having their am widget get stuck on a particular song or band? Just since a few days ago the widget is stuck on a band I was listening to but i’ve played several other playlists since. Anytime I stop my music and go back to the widget it still shows the old band/song from days ago. Have rebooted, and it’s still “stuck” and returns to that one band after a short time after stopping play of whatever I was listening to.
iPhone 17 base and up to date with 27.0.1.
I wish they’d waste less time changing the app icon and actually make the app work. Still have the playlist order messed up in CarPlay as well. No matter how I have my music sorted on my phone, CarPlay always plays oldest songs first.

Hello, I'm trying to download my music to use my old ipod nano which is empty at the moment.
I know the apple music subscription files are coded, so I have converted my AM playlist in a youtube playlist.
I'm looking for a website or software that converts the whole 70 songs playlist in mp3 files for free.
Everything I have tried so far just has a 10 or 30 daily songs limit and my playlists are all 50-70 songs long.
Any advices? thanks

Apple Music's Recently Played forgets fast, and its history is too short.
So I built Caltunes.
Recent: every song you play in Apple Music shows up, even when Caltunes is closed.
History: every song is saved on the day you played it. Go back to any day, week, month or year on the calendar and play it back.
You can also import your full Apple Music history so your older days, weeks, months and years show up too.
iPhone only.

What would you want it to do next?

Hi,
I have a feeling early next year we'll get some sort of redesign along with the new branding. Apple usually adds major new features to the Music app in the .4 updates of their OSs and that's usually around February or March.
Shared playlists, Dolby Atmos were key features launched at the beginning of a year.

Just an appreciation post for Apple for creating such a banger playlist. 😍
