Solved Stuck on "Checking info..." screen when adding Google account on LineageOS (Xiaomi, no root)

Hi! I’ve been using LineageOS on my Xiaomi for over 6 months. Suddenly YouTube stopped working. I removed my Google account, but now I’m completely stuck on the "Checking info..." screen with an infinite loading loop.

I've never encountered a problem like this before, and I honestly don't know what to do.

My Google accounts and connection to their servers are not working today also. Did you resolve the issue?

"Hi. I just happened to see your post in the lineage sub. I'm one of the lineage devs and mods. there's been a couple reports, similar to yours, in the past couple days. its caused by an app update for google play services. to fix it just go to the app info for google play services and tap the button for "uninstall updates"

Hello, same here. Pixel 7 LineageOS - 23.2-20260703-NIGHTLY-panther

Works fine yesterday, and today:

  • can't connect to playstore
  • can't connect to mail
  • can't add Google account after delete :p

Any issus?

There are reports of a wider Google Cloud outage in Europe. I'm wondering if that is causing these issues.

I had to clear my play services data twice before I got mine working again
