A small group of people in SC/ST continue to take all the important positions available without leaving something for the marginalized people in their community.
Wealthy families do not need social welfare. For any actual discrimination based on caste, strong st/sc laws are already there to protect them.
→ More replies (45)2
u/demo_crazy Aug 22 '26
Same is true for general elite. A small group of people continue to take all the important positions without leaving something for the marginalised people of all communities. And when asked they point you to other oppressed people and ask you to fight it out amongst yourself for their leftovers.
But you wouldn’t ever ask strong and rich to leave a slice for you. Would you? No. People very much like you, who are oppressed in a slightly different way, will stay your enemy.
Unless you recognise who has actually denied you education and jobs, unless you recognise for yourself who you should fight with, you will keep fighting who they tell you to fight.

Removing reservation is a part of removing casteism you need to understand that. Why patients don't go to the dalit doctor? It's not because of he's dalit but because he is underqualified to be a doctor. Recently a guy scored 1 mark in NEET pg and got an ortho seat now so you think he will be a good doctor to a society? Removing reservation will make all the patients go to all doctors whether they are bhrahmin or dalit and slowly and slowly our society will forget about casteism. they still remember it even if they are educated because they have been educated fighting for the same seat they deserve but guess what? A dalit stole it now it will only increase his hatred.

2

And none of them is getting reservation. Most of the SCs and STs getting reservation already well off.
1
u/badassboy1 Aug 23 '26
They aren't getting that reservation because they don't have enough resources to try using them not cause others are taking it.
Do you know what will stop it ? Socialist policies. Make a system where basic necessities are covered in a way that people can actually use them and are good enough for people to actually use .
You can make reservation 100% in college and it won't affect the person who has to go to work to put food on the table rather than attending classes

People who have already got the benefits of reservation should kindly fk off and leave their reservation benefits. Bcz they have no arguments other than to cry using the condition of those poor ppl

Other two, one has havelli and other guy doesn't have big house but he just bought latest iphone for him and his sister. Meanwhile I couldn't afford to go to coaching and just bought 30k tablet after saving for years. And the poorest one also eventually got rich and has big house now. But they did have lot of cows from early on.

According to your flawed logic tomorrow other castes in general can say I can't be priest in temple, I should also be getting reservation.
See I can tell you that not even 1% Brahmins aspire to be a priest anywhere, it is not a high paying job anyway.

So, SC, ST, and OBC make up roughly 75% of the population and get only 49% reservation. And General, which is estimated to be around 25% (for your benifit, lets make it 30%), gets 40% reservation. Who is benefiting here? Dumb fucks?? Kisi bewakoof admi ne kuch bola diya, or 5 bewakoof admiyon ne maan liya. Reservation ka rona chord do, padhai par dhyan do

And if you can’t eat get a seat in those 45 percent despite making up only 25 percent of the population, then you know where the issue lies😚😚.

In fact these are the seats that gets filled based on the marks alone and the remaining ones are filled based on marks but with in that particular category.

Bro honestly, don't waste time arguing with people who say this meme is wrong {yes this is ai slop but i wont waste time editing when i can have an idea and get this done for free like most of them the people downgrading it with addressing the msg and thought ) .
actual stats:
Cutoff math doesn't lie: For JEE Main, General cutoff sits around ~93 percentile, while ST cutoff drops down to ~47 percentile.
The 99th percentile struggle: A General student with 99 percentile (~14,000 rank) gets rejected from top IIT branches, while reserved category seats for those exact same branches go to candidates with way lower overall ranks.
Not just engineering: Same story in NEET and UPSC—unreserved candidates get squeezed out while lower percentile scores pull through in reserved categories.
Moral of the story? Studying 14 hours a day for 2 years was a massive skill issue on our part. Should've just selected a better spawn point on the character creation screen 💀
2
u/a_lit_bruh Aug 23 '26
you are putting in efforts to say essentially this:

Iam an upper caste born person but i support reservation.
I will tell story. He is from lower caste. We went too our classmates home (we went there many times) Once his mother asked about our family and all .also casually asked our caste. We were 3 friends excluding there son 2 of as are from uppercaste. And my other friend also said his caste casually they acted normal that time. After this insident whenever the lower caste friend is with us they don't call us inside the house even our friend(there som).when he is not there the give food and call us inside.
And if any of you take look at the hiring pattern of companies expect MNC they usually don't hire people's from lower caste (idk is it internally or unintentionally)
2
u/Any_Idea_1551 Aug 23 '26
Same can be said for caste. Just born in higher ones give you more privilege and then cry about why lower castes are pushing against you.

When population truly lets go of castiest mindset.
- normalization of inter caste marriage. The one and only true step that makes "caste" irrelevant. The only and only step that can help share privilege, wealth, and social capital.
- Every institute inside India: politics, bureaucracy, business, education, etc have representation of various communities proportional to their % of pop i.e., if I take all the professors of MBA edu in India, if 25% of the are SC/ST then they are represented proportionally to their population.
- At which point, cut-offs of different communities dont have much difference
My opinion is that it would 1-2 more generations for this to happen naturally. Reservations will naturally fade out when enough SC/ST people go through schooling and compete for the seats among themselves.... the competition itself will make cutoffs moot and reservation irrelevant. Like its with OBC most cases

15% for Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 27% for Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL), and 10% for the Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS).
Creamy layer has been introduced for OBC and EWS for economically weaker people. So atleast OBC and EWS are having economical based reservations. People are yapping about the other 22.5%, reserved for SC/ST even when they are heavily discriminated in present also.

1-Do you know how many seats are reserved? 2- The difference between cutoff and actual percentile needed to get selected? 3- No. of years getting oppressed by your so called upper caste ancestors. 4- The no. of people from sc/st community in government job and other. 5- Even today people like you ask caste and community details to marry or everything else.
The problem is not in the reservation system the problem is in the people like you who think getting 27-30% reserved for the children of people who got oppressed by your ancestors and who never got the education pr any opportunities coz your ancestors were gobbling up all the jobs, knowledge, lands and what not and now when people from sc/st are trying to catchup with some help from the government people like you are crying oven some percentage of reservation. And if your going to argue why I should support/suffer coz of your ancestors oppression then donate or leave all the property you got inherited from your ancestors too.

Both sides arguments are quite solid. I don't think I can cause impact on it but before talking about reservation and casteism I just want to ask one question to everyone one,
’How many of you have read Indian Literature more than once outside the textbooks?’
We all are interested in western and other literature but never our own. If you think you are mature enough, I would highly recommend reading Indian Literature specially from writers like Premchand, Phanishwar Nath Renu, Rajendra Yadav, Bheeshma Sahni and Any other Indian Literature. Doesn't matter which writer or language you prefer but read from old literature like from 1900s. You might thinks it's unnecessary but once you do, you will realise something.
(Anyway please don't read romance)

Treat them as equals in all things then if you dont like reservations
- Remove castism
- Improve education for poor
Until we can fix the above reservation becomes mandatory if we want those communities to have any chance in life.
So imo yes reservation is bad but the above two are at the root of that problem.

Sure but no one talks about management quota and fake EWS certificates.
Government colleges like IIT, IIM, NIT, AIIMS are producing meritorious students even with reservation, providing opportunities to all categories while most private college passouts from management quota and high caste connections are not as employable. Why so? Its really not about merit, it's about representation. An SC ST OBC scoring 70-80 from a poor background is Huge, they'd do wonders if they had mainstream respect. And as of so called "rich dalits", if they had merit to cross General cutoff even then they'd be refused admission without reservation as upper castes control admission and recruitments. They favor their own caste. A dalit person got 2nd rank and was still refused admission in BHU, that's the meritocracy you're talking about??? The only reason any dalit gets admission is because there's a law for that, otherwise they'll always keep getting low marks in interviews and exams conducted by upper castes who are uncomfortable to have a dalit as an equal.
I don't want reservation to exist, buy for that caste needs to be completely eradicated and uprooted and caste pride should be criminal offence.
1
u/CressBitter391 Aug 24 '26
