CollegeBoard Does the College Board count guidance from tulpas/spirits/other supernatural powers or hallucinations as cheating?

Hi guys. My HS is small and private so we don’t have AP classes, but I’m taking the PSAT today and I have a strange question.

I have OCD so I have a lot of strange, irrational fears. If an alter ego/tulpa/auditory hallucination gives me guidance on the test, would that be counted as cheating?

I know they can’t read my thoughts but the way they describe the anti-cheat measures makes me think they’d be able to tell if I was getting mental/supernatural guidance.

I should also mention that I do not hear voices telling me how to do math. I’m just very worried that I might, against my will, and I’ll be flagged as cheating and that may count against my credibility on future SATs, and get me terminated from my school.

Is there rules against this stated by College Board?

Calc AB Do I drop AP Calculus AB?

I'm currently a junior hoping to apply for top colleges in my senior year. I currently have a B in AP Calculus AB because I bombed a test (derivatives). For some context, my school offers Calculus III and Differential Equations after Calculus BC.

Should i just take a B in calculus ab and keep going to differential equations in senior year (and risk a B in calculus iii and differential eqations too) or drop calc ab (with no penalty and doesn't show on transcript) and retake it next semester and take only calc bc senior year, but I won't be able to take Calc III and Differential Equations (Calculus BC is only offered second semester at my school.)? the uw gpa difference is about 3.94 vs 3.99 and w difference is 4.49 vs 4.51 (by the time i graduate).

idk what to do man it's either gpa or i take a harder class

CollegeBoard Do some college not honor an AP score if you have not been enrolled in the class?

I was planning to self study a few AP's this year (bio, psych, micro) and when my school heard this, the AP coordinator basically said " I know that some colleges limit what will transfer and in some cases, a college will not honor an AP score if you have not been enrolled in the class."

So I'm asking 2 questions.

First, Do some college not honor an AP score if you have not been enrolled in the class?

Second, will a couple of AP's really reach that college limit? I know for selective schools they force you into a 4-year undergrad anyways but still.

Research AP Research is grade terrorism

• Upvotes

I’ve got a 67% (no joke) because we literally just keep getting thrown deadlines. I’m reworking my entire paper because our normal teacher (who if the freakin librarian and hasn’t taught it before) doesn’t know how to do this. After sitting down with a real competent teacher for like 3 hours I finally know what I’m doing but I now have to revise my entire annotated bibliography and my entire methods section by like next Monday or I’m gonna fail the class. Atp me ( and the 2 other people taking the class) are seriously all considering dropping it and like telling the counselor we can’t do it because of this teacher. Thank you for listening to my rant.

APUSH HS Sophomore Knows the APUSH Material but Keeps Failing SAQs & DBQs. What Helped You?

My daughter is a sophomore taking APUSH. She does really well on quizzes and tests, but she's consistently failing her SAQs and DBQs, and we're struggling to figure out how to help her.

Her teacher explained that APUSH is more of a narrative and analytical class rather than a fact-based class, focusing on analyzing historical developments, causes, and effects.

My daughter is a very logical, fact-based thinker. Math is her strongest subject, and she does best when there's a clear process or formula to follow. She knows the historical facts but struggles with turning that knowledge into the type of analysis APUSH requires.

She's met with her teacher and is genuinely trying, but she's feeling lost and discouraged.

For those who've figured out SAQs and DBQs:

  • Is there a step-by-step approach that works for someone who thinks more mathematically?
  • How do you learn to analyze history rather than just state facts?
  • Are there any resources or strategies that helped things finally click?

Thank you!

Bio Quick AP Bio Unit 1 Concept: Why macromolecular crowding in the cytoplasm actually SPEEDS UP reactions (Data Analysis Insight)

Hey everyone! 👋

While reviewing AP Biology Unit 1 (Chemistry of Life), most students focus purely on basic water properties like cohesion, adhesion, and specific heat. But AP-style FRQs often push deeper into cytosolic dynamics.

Here is a cool paradox worth remembering for Unit 1 enzyme kinetics & cytoplasm questions:

The Paradox: High protein concentration in the cytosol increases viscosity, which slows down long-range diffusion of large macromolecules.

Why it actually speeds up reactions: Cytosolic protein density reduces "free volume" (the excluded volume effect). This physical compression forces enzymes and substrates into closer proximity, drastically increasing localized collision frequency.

Quick FRQ Tip:

Extreme crowding (>250 mg/mL) eventually causes viscosity to override collision benefits, causing reaction rates to drop sharply due to physical trapping.

Hope this quick insight helps with your Unit 1 data analysis prep! Let me know if you want to discuss cytosolic pH dynamics or solvation shells.

Macro ap classroom for self study

so im self studying AP Macreconomics for the exam in May, and my AP Coordinator has set me up with AP Classroom and has me registered for the test and everything.

I know AP Classroom has a bunch of resources to use to study, like progress checks, practice tests, and mini quizzes as well. If I were to email my AP coordinator and ask her to open up all of these resources on AP Classroom for me to use, do you think she would do that??

the reason i ask is bc I saw in a different in a different post that theres some rule that they can't open all of them up for us, and I just wanted to see if that is true or not before I email her.

thanks in advance!

Calc BC How to prepare for math tests/quizzes

• Upvotes

For whatever reason my calc bc teacher gives us easy problems for our math homework however on the test the problems suddenly increase in difficulty exponentially. For example we had to do find the line tangent to y=x^2 at (1,0) or something like that on the HW but on the test it was find the line normal to e^x*tan^-1(x). I used to get an A on every math test but went down to B this year because of this. Please give advice on how to prepare for math quizzes and tests so that you can get an A

APUSH Online Study Resources (Chem, Calc, and APUSH)?

Hi! I'm a junior taking apush, ap chem, calc ab + bc, ap lang and ap mandarin! Last year I took ap world and I survived thanks to a document I got from a friend of a friend.

Is there anything free and similar like a day-by-day guide, notes, and quizzes that would help on more strenuous courses like apush, bc, and chem? I really liked the way the ap world document was laid out with the mini frqs at the end of each section and I liked to review it before every exam :)

Also, I wanted to know if AP lang / lit helps with the SAT. I have lang second semester and don't exactly know the SAT's standards from taking it and I'm assuming those will be the key?

Chem AP Chem Test & Quiz Performance

• Upvotes

So I’m a junior in high school and am taking AP Lang, Precalc, and Chem. I took AP World last year and I did very well but this year my grades have been way lower than I usually get. I’ve always gotten generally high grades, I’m a perfectionist and put a lot of pressure on myself, but last year I took honors chemistry and was getting mid to high 80s on tests.

This year in AP Chemisty, first test I got a 82%. I locked in for the next one and got a 99%. However we just had two really hard quizzes for unit 3, mcqs and frad and I bombed the first one. I just took the second one and while I feel good about the MCQs, I wasn’t able to finish the third FRQ. I’m not used to not getting A’s and even though so many people are getting similar scores, I don’t know how to approach this class to perform better on my quizzes and tests. Does anyone have any suggestions from their own experiences??
