Rules Update - Sales, Exchanges, and 3D Printing Files

The Reddit User Agreement and Reddit Rules have changed, including details related to Illegal or Prohibited Transactions.

As a result, some of the activities we have previously enjoyed must cease immediately.

From Reddit:

Users are not allowed to buy, sell, gift, or encourage the transaction of the following goods or services with other Redditors, whether implicitly or explicitly:

  • Firearms, ammunition, explosives, firearms parts and enhancements (e.g., bolt, clips, trigger, scope, silencer/suppressor, muffler, bump stock, magazine, Glock switch, conversion kit, etc.), or specific instructions (i.e., 3D printing files) to produce any of the aforementioned.

To simplify this:

  • No sales or exchanges of anything gun-related
  • No sharing or linking of 3D printing files for anything gun-related

All Reddit users have a responsibility to understand and adhere to the rules.  Ignorance of the rules is not a valid defense.

This is a zero-tolerance policy.

This will be going on the 10/22 instead of that massive foregrip/bipod that I bought… plain, simple, never fails… and much easier on my hands and wrists

Suddenly Getting Light Primer Strikes, any Ideas?

This one has me stumped. Build details at the bottom.

My 10/22 has been running flawlessly for roughly 500-700 rounds, but recently started having issues. All components have less than 1,000 rounds.

I’m getting intermittent failures to fire, roughly 1 in 4 rounds. CCI Standard velocity ammo. Hammer drops, but no bang. The failed rounds have very shallow firing pin strikes. The other rounds are a solid strike. The firing pin moves freely, has good protrusion, and isn’t damaged. The hammer is free from any damage no gouging, burrs etc. The hammer spring is new (<500 rounds) and has good smack to it.

Additional info*
I pulled everything out and cleaned it. While I had the action out I added a spacer to get the barrel off the chassis. Went to the range, shot roughly 80 rounds and it ran great. The groups sucked, so I returned the chassis to the original receiver block and torqued it to 20 in-lbs on the action screw like before then had the click no bang problem again. Not sure if this is related or not? Everything fits tight, doesn’t appear to be in a bind, and cycles smoothly.

Anyone experienced something similar? This is about to drive me crazy.

Build:
KIDD barrel
KIDD Bolt
Tactical Innovations Receiver
Ruger BX trigger
KRG Bravo chassis

Winchester wildcat for $203 or wait for 10/22 deal

I saw Winchester is running a 10% rebate and found a wildcat SR for $225 before tax. All I want is a plinking 22 besides my tx22. Would add a scope and that’s it. Is that a good deal or better wait for 10/22 ?

So-called “tactical” build with a 10-round mag glued to a gutted airsoft PMAG. Keeping those .223-restricted indoor shooting range crews on alert. 😃 Faking that “big-boy energy” pretty well, wouldn’t you say? 🙂

I don’t like the foregrip/bipod, it’s massive, in my head it was smaller 🤣 think I’m going to have to order something else for that

First 10/22

Looking to pick up a 10/22 and was wondering about pricing. I’ve been looking at the model 32000 which has the 16” threaded barrel and BX trigger. I’m seeing them for around $299 at most stores and was wondering if they get cheaper around the holidays or should I just go ahead and pull the trigger (pun intended, don’t downvote me!)

Best way to go about a new build

Looking at doing my first 10 10 22. I dont want to cheap out but i also do not need a 1500 kidd rifle. Plans are small game hunting all south texaof South Texas s where i woI won'tnt be shooting 50 yards plus some plinking for fun. Probably supress it with an lpvo

I have built many ar10s and 15s so I'm leaning towards building from a blank receiver plus not having abunch of parts laying around. I did see this on PA Faxon FX22 10/22 Barreled Action - 16” Pencil Barrel - Nitride Coated. Not sure exactly what else iI would need besides the stock.

Should i do this or just buy a factory built and swap what i want, or go piece by piece?

Any pointers are appreciated plus any parts you have really enjoyed like a stock to start. Thanks!factory-built

Barrel questions

I have the regular 10 22, can I buy a charger barrel and install it? Or are the barrels different? Are they all compatible? I want to buy a shorter barrel and put it into a chassis system.

Edit: Florida

Hello, Is the Vortex Crossfire HD 2x7 good for a rugger 10/22? seems to be inexpensive and good quality. Illuminated dead-hold 2A BDC MOA.

Just ordered a new 10/22 and I’m waiting on a new takedown chassis, but the new 10/22s come with a BX trigger. Am I good, or do I need to find an older rifle?

Hey everyone!

I have the Archangel stock, a Pike Arms bull barrel, an Amazon mag release, and the upgraded Ruger trigger. Added a Vortex Rimfire scope.

The stock is chunky, but I do like it. I typically shoot suppressed with an RXD22Ti.

Cheap scope recommendations for hunting small game? Hunting-10/22 advice?

Post image
51 Upvotes

I just got my first ever Ruger 10/22 rifle w/ MOE X22 and so I'm excited about that for starters, and I picked up a cheap TruGlo red dot site for it just to have something to throw on there for the range.

This fall I'm wanting to try my hand at small game hunting. Which I've never done any kind of hunting other than fishing. Realistically, what kind of accurate range could I expect to get out of this gun for small game hunting?

Are there any scopes under $200 that will help me out with hitting those squirrels? I've been doing some research and it seems that parallax is a big issue I need to look out for? I know at my price range I'm going to have to deal with some trade-offs no matter what, but I like to think I'm pretty adaptable, and plan to invest in a big boy scope maybe next year.

I haven't utilized a scope before either, I typically just have fun at the range with my Glock19 so this will be a big learning process.

Currently I'm looking at either a Thompson Center Multi-X 3-9X40 MM Riflescope if I want to be as cheap as possible, or a Vortex Triumph HD 3-9x40 Second Focal Plane since its sitting at around $100.

Any noobie advice would be appreciated as well!

I guess the B-TM is no longer available?

I reached out to Samson as I have been waiting ti purchase a B-TM folding stock for nearly a year now and was told.

“All Production A-TM and B-TM Stocks are being sent directly to Ruger.

Per our Agreement with Ruger we are not able to sell any stocks or components.”

Soooo….sounds like we are SOL? Cause I can’t find it on the Ruger site either.

Chopping a 10/22 front end, changing barrel to 8”, adding suppressor. Anyone got any tips before I just send it?

Heres a pic for example(not mine obviously), although I’m not sure I want to tuck my can. Possibly, but I know that will require a lot more work milling out the wood stock on the inside. What should I know about doing this? Is it as easy as removing factory barrel, cutting the front short, and adding in an 8” barrel? do you recommend Carbon fiber for the function or is it just for the vibes?
Thanks!!!

What do I need to know and need?

I will be buying scopes hopefully this weekend. Reason? I have both a 10/22 and a PCC (both Ruger); where I shoot I am not allowed to shoot any kind of rifle less than a 100-yards.

I took them out shooting once not knowing this with iron sights and I could not make out the holes and switching off to binoculars sucks.

So scope it is. But I am new to rifles and scopes.

I have the rail that came with both rifles already mounted on the guns.

But what about everything else?

I am planning to go with the more affordable Vortex models.

I believe I need mounting rings.

But what else do I need and need to know to mount it?

I was watching a few videos talking about getting a rifle holder, leveling it,and etc.

Is it really that involved?
