Help - PC Last week or so has got me seriously considering a gaming PC

As like many of you upset at GTA6 and Sony's commitment to digital media, I have seriously been considering getting a gaming desktop PC. The only problem I'm not sure where to start. I could get a prebuilt PC, but those can range from $1500 to $2500. I've looked at building my own PC, but I'm not sure where to start. If someone can point me in that right direction, that would be appreciated!

EDIT: Yes I am aware PC is all digital. I have a gaming laptop. I am saying if everyone is going digital and there is no turning back, might as well go all-in on PC, where things are more flexible.

Help - PC How do you "console" your PC gaming

With the story going on regarding sony, i am trying to plan ahead and am considering switching more into PC gaming. I have a decent gaming pc, it might need to be updated in someway but generally plays everything I want in high performance settings well.

But one of the things I generally preferred about playing on console was not sitting at my desk, and instead playing on my sofa, either on my TV, or my projector.

I know there ways to do this with PC games, but I was wondering if people have suggestions on how they set that up themselves.

Edit: Title was supposed to be "consolefy" instead of console, spellcheck messed up.

Help - PC Epic games or steam

Always played games on ps4

But i now have a gaming laptop

Cyberpunk 2077 is my favorite game and its on sale on epic games and steam

Is there any reason why i should buy it from one store rather than the other one ?

Or does it really make no difference since ive heard there may be some differences in performance due to how the store launch the gamed

Help - PC Anyone else feel like they got lucky buying tech before prices went crazy?

I just wanted to get other people’s perspectives on whether it’s even worth buying consoles, PC parts, or games right now—or if it makes more sense to wait and see if things ever “get better” price-wise.

I feel like I got really lucky with my timing. I built my PC in August 2025 for about $1100, and the parts are still amazing. I helped a friend build almost the same setup recently, and it ended up costing over $2k, which is kind of wild. Same thing with my PS5—I got the disc version in November 2024, plus two games and an extra Sony controller from Best Buy, all for around $560 after tax. Now I’m seeing the console alone potentially going up to $600.

It just feels like everything has gotten way more expensive in a short amount of time, and it’s crazy that global stuff like wars and politics are now directly affecting what we pay for games and hardware. I never would’ve thought about any of that growing up, but here we are.

I finally felt what everyone else has been dealing with when I picked up the Switch 2 recently… prices just hit different now.

Anyway, I’m curious—if you didn’t already buy your setup or console earlier, would you still jump in at today’s prices? Or are you holding off?

Would love to hear what everyone else is thinking.

Help - PC Better video game than league of legends?

I have been trying to quit league of legends for 13 years, but unfortunately I still keep coming back to it. If anyone could help me find a better video game on PC,I would be dearly grateful

League of legends has a couple of things I want to list that other games don't get all right.

  1. Having that insanely high skill cealing which creates a highly satisfying competitive environment.

  2. Has an incredibly low graphics requirement. Can run on an old laptop with integrated graphics.

  3. Is free to play (or very cheap on steam)

  4. Has very active playerbase

  5. Has enourmous replayability

  6. Has min of 5 players per team PVP

  7. Is not a RTS, Fighting, Racing or Sports game.

  8. Doesn't have pay to win mechanics

If there is a game out there that ticks off all the above mentioned points. I would be more than happy to hear out an alternative. You honestly will help me out a lot. 13 years of being stuck with league of legends. I really want to leave it!

Help - PC Screen flickers like crazy when I play Watch Dogs 2

Whenever I try to play Watch Dogs 2, the screen flickers a lot, I don't know what the issue might be, I tried the unofficial installs first, it had the same problem, then I bought the game and the game still has the same problem.

Video for reference.

Edit: the issue has been fixed but couldn't fix it on the Official build.

Help - PC thinking about selling my pc for a series x... am i crazy or nah

hey guys so just looking for some advice cuz im feeling kinda torn but it makes sense on paper yk.
so rn i have a prebuilt pc (ryzen 5 5600x, rx 9060 xt 16gb, 32gb ram) and like its fine but honestly im just so burnt out on pc gaming. i been in a depressive slump lately and just play the same single player games over and over smt to just pass the time, zero multiplayer or anything.
i bought a pc cuz i thought modding would be sick but its just more of a hassle than a benefit tbh. i hate windows so bad and i spent so many hours trying to make it feel like a console with a bunch of apps and mods. even tried bazzite but just couldnt figure it out and some games wouldnt work. it felt like a second job just trying to get shit to work when i just wanna turn it on and play in peace.
so here is the deal. my aunt was about to buy a gaming laptop for like 1700 or an overpriced macbook for 2k and i told her nah i'll just sell you my pc for what i paid which is 1100 bucks. it saves her money and i still owe like 400 on the pc financing. so if i pay it off early with her money i get to keep like 700 bucks free and clear.
i kinda wanna just take that money and buy an xbox series x so i can play gta 6 when it drops in november. im not trying to wait a whole year for a pc port and i really just want a plug and play experience rn. i already gave my ps5 away to my lil sister cuz i thought i was just gonna be on pc full time so im looking at xbox.
does this sound like a solid plan or am i tripping? anyone else just give up on the pc hassle and switch to console?

Help - PC Need Advice for Improving on Mouse and Keyboard

I (21) swapped to pc about 4 years ago after playing console games my entire life, but only started playing shooters about 6 or 7 years ago (I was mostly a Nintendo and 2k kid growing up). My first shooter I played was Apex Legends the first week it came out and I fell in love with it. I played it for two years straight while also playing Titanfall 2 (my favorite fps of all time). On controller I’d say I was pretty okay; consistently got to high Plat and Diamond on Apex and would average no less than 30 kills in Titanfall once I learned what I was doing.

However, my swap to mouse and keyboard has been much less than graceful, that’s to be expected. On top of that, the first shooter I decided to play on pc was Valorant (I regret my choices to this day) when I had no tactical shooter experience outside of a very short and very casual R6S kick on console.

There’s just something about mouse and keyboard that feels like I’m not much better than I was a few years ago. I’ve tried improving with Aimlabs programs and even OSU. I would try the routine every day for two weeks and see no improvement and stop. I’ve gone through all of the stages of grief, blaming my sensitivity, then my mouse, then my mousepad; but I now have a sense I’m comfortable with, a G502, and a beautiful glass mousepad and obviously nothing has improved. I even fixed my posture and chair height (ridiculous, I know). The only thing I haven’t tried is coaching but at this point is it even worth paying someone to help me when it still might not work?

It’s getting really disheartening and I’m not sure what to do anymore, I’ve got good game sense and hearing, but I just can’t execute what I know I need to do. I’ve been playing Deadlock nonstop and my mediocrity in team fights is laughable. If there are any suggestions you guys have or even people I can talk to I’d greatly appreciate it.

TLDR: I’m not nearly as good on mouse and keyboard as I am in console and can’t seem to improve, pls help!

Help - PC The "This is My Home" Videogame?

I just cannot get into a game anymore. I feel like chasing nostalgia, then I try something new, then go back-and-forth.

Sometimes I feel if I mod Skyrim SE in a particular way I can make it happen. I can make the video game like a central game as to what I explore or feel.

Basically I am asking help for a game that doesn't exist yet? A robust system of animation, physics, rpg elements, along with a myriad of different systems such as a robust magic system. I am talking next-level.

When will this game ever happen? Do I have to wait until 2060? Because I believe so...it's horrible. I have played videogames all my life, all-throughout that I have a chronic symptom of if I want to take a break from life, I go to videogames.

So I'm begging for help from fellow gamers...what game do you enjoy that you can truly say you didn't quit within maybe the first 3 hours and why? I want to study your responses based on symptomatic behavior of maybe a paradigm shift that needs to happen.

I feel maybe isometric games always hit the spot sometimes, but not enough.

Help - PC how do i get better at playing w/ keyboard and mouse??

i’m a playstation gamer. i’m 15 years old and since i was 4 i was playing on playstation

recently i plugged in a keyboard and mouse to my console for the game dead by daylight but its just so hard??!!? i can’t hold the mouse without shaking, and its hard to get my fingers to press multiple buttons at the same time like ctrl and w, i can’t look behind my character nd others… it just feels impossible

looking to the left or right with my mouse is so hard for me just because my hands are so shaky, that’s why i’ve sticked to controller for so long, but now that i play more games that pretty much require me to use a keyboard and mouse i just struggle

how do i get better???

Help - PC LF games to convinced my girlfriend gaming is awesome

Hey,

My girlfriend played a bit of Crash Bandicoot when she was really young and remember liking it. I then tried making her play the latest Crash Bandicoot's releases but she HATED it lol. Even young, she was not a "real' gamer if I may. So, trying a modern game with fast action was but ideal for her. Also, I think the solo play was not the best idea because each time I would take turn, she would realize just how mediocre she was lol and I can't blame her for that.

That said, I figured it would be cool a coop game instead. Maybe something more chill... I bought Stardew Valley and was planning on trying it. I also just saw that Don't Starve Together is on a huge discount right now... Could also be worth maybe?

Anyway, I was hoping I could get some guidance from folks who managed to make their non-gamer girlfriends fall in love with gaming...

TLDR: How to make a non-gamer girlfriend

This way you can draw the cover art however you want, it's fully customizable. This way you can own the game on a physical storage device. Other physical storage devices are available. But none are as big.

Help - PC Does a multiplayer shooter, that is active but doesn't have a massive install size exist?

Asking primarily for PC. The reason I ask is I do love shooters like Halo and Cod but their install sizes have gotten absurd. I think it's about 160gb right now to install black ops 7.

I don't have a ton of space of my gaming pc right now. What do you all play that you'd reccomend? I'm open to older games that still have an active population. Or other multiplayer games, so long as they aren't 100 gb.

I wanted to improve the performance of GTA IV, so I decided to install DXVK because I heard it could improve frame rates. However, after installing it, the game actually performed worse than it did without DXVK.

Most people who have tried it said that it improved their frame rates and made the game run smoother, so I’m wondering what could be causing this issue in my case.

Help - PC I lost my Minecraft account.

I got my Microsoft account stolen today because I am stupid and contacted Microsoft Support but they did nothing, telling me I can't get my account back. All I want is to be able to play Minecraft on servers and make friends so if anyone would want to make a stranger's day, please consider me.

I do not know what else to say so I will just explain what happened really quickly, maybe that'll allow me to post here.

So today I woke up, I managed to self host my own server yestwrday so I was very happy. But I didn't have any friends to play with so I got into search of Minecraft Servers. I came across this Discord Server that claimed to be Unstable SMP's, they asked for verification, they sent me a login code instead and I was too stupid to realize. I now lost my account and everything I had in it I think.

I contacted Microsoft but they still said they couldn't verify it was my account even though I filled every bit of it.

So I'm just asking for a blessing once. I normally don't do this, I don't know what to type, but if someone helped me out I would be so glad. Because it's so expensive in Turkey and I don't even have a Visa or Mastercard credit/debit card to buy it again, even if I had the money.

I know I look a bit pathetic trying to gain sympathy points but it's all I can do.

Help - PC One handed gamer with celebral palsy want to buy battlefield 6

\

I am one handed gamer with celebral palsy and I just bought batkefield V. 1 and 2042. I found that 2042 is weird so I decided to consider buying bf 6. Please tell me if this game is for me and if is not sugest me some modern fps that is similar to battlefield. I play on PC and I play with razer naga trinity left handed edition mouse. (I had brain stroke during my mother pregnancy) and because if this I can use just one hand. ( other is paralised.) I have some signs of OCP and I have also problems with walking (I can walk but I get quickly tired after 1 kilometer I have also problems with reaction time and cordination. I also notice that I hardly spot my enemies and I am very focused when I aim and I forgot to move between shots. ( this is particually notice as I play as sniper. And that is why I am very carefull with buying games. That is also reason I have verry litle games that are bought. I spend a lot of time resarching game, watching playthroughts, watching lore videos, observing gane mechanics so I can see if I can play this game. But sometimes despait this resarch I find out that sone games are too fast and intense for me . I start with V because they had auto run control. played a few matches and i find most confortable with medic or scout. But overall I suck. I rarely get kills or if I get some kills is usually 1 or 2 per match. And then I started playing difrently I found out how reviving works and become pretty good at reviviving . So hearing my experience with V can anyone help me deicie if I will enkoy bf6? I heard that game have really small maps and it plays so fast that is like a COD. I am also cpncerned about how intense that game is in context from previous battlefields. I also heard that tge game have campaign. Is this a good thing to learn mehanics? And can anyone tell me how new weapons work and if you think I would learn handling with new vlweapons and veicles?.

Help - PC Can’t get into new games

I’ve bought several games that people love but I just can’t get into. I play them for a few hours and just can’t. I have had success with a few games but what is wrong with me? Is gaming not for me anymore? I feeling like I’m wasting money by playing these for under 10 hours and then just not. Would anyone recommend going back to any?

•Crimson desert- can’t stand the controls.

•Madden 26- Money grab

•Arc Raiders- Too much time navigating for little reward.

Farcry 6- Whole game felt like I was doing the same thing over and over.

College Football 26- Same as Madden

Elden ring- Felt kinda good but played for a few hours and couldn’t get past the first boss on the bridge.

With this being said there are 2 games that I’ve played the absolute mess out of. COD-BO7, Ghost of Yotei.

Help - PC Isometric pixel (I believe) zombie game that I can't seem to remember.

(I don't remember if I had a dream or some kind of alternate experience or something, so I might be talking out of my rear end here)

I'm sure a couple years ago I had come across some kind isometrics zombie game, i don't remember if it was pixelated or not, but there was a woman and a man playing co op, and they were in some kind of locked off building, or something kind of hospital, it was a horde shooter, not turn based or anything like that, I believe there was a boss type entity and a res mechanic because the woman went down, and the guy had to move around the horde to attempt to get to her.

Sorry If I haven't given much detail since this just popped into my mind randomly as I was looking up zombie games,
