Besides Pokémon I hated rpg’s until I played kotor on release and my mind changed instantly. Modern games owe a ton to BioWare’s cinematic approach nevermind the worldbuilding and hundreds of little touches that make the world cohesive. Also, these games are hilarious. Deadeye Duncan dropping that blaster might be the funniest moment in any game.
That’s how I felt about Dragon Age Origins - picked up a used Xbox 360 disc at GameStop in college and fell in love. I’ve actually never played KOTOR and had been holding out hope for the remake…
Oh dude play the original. Yes it looks dated but believe me the gameplay and story have aged like fine wine. It and KOTOR 2 are still to this day maybe the greatest stories ever told in the Star Wars setting. Run don't walk. You can play them on your phone even!
I have legitimately bought KOTOR 1&2 four different times because of how fantastic they are, it is so worth trying out. Get them on steam and do vanilla runs, then install TSLRCM on 2, it adds most of the content they were too rushed to finish for the final release
