Let’s be real, no one that made any of the games that we love has worked at Bioware for years, best case scenario is they sell the rights off on the cheap to a studio that cares

I've been saying this about a lot of these classic studios for a while now.

Most of them the only thing left from the last time they made a game people loved is a name above the door

That's why the reports that Obsidian were working on Fallout again didn't interest me at all until some of the old names were specifically brought on board.

Where did the Mass Effect people go?

Retirement/attrition/layoffs/etc

I switch employers every 5-6 years just to keep climbing the ladder or getting a significant pay increase.

Most people dont stay with the same employer 20+ years anymore

No, I meant what companies. Wondering if they made good games elsewhere.

Archetype entertainment are making Exodus which is very Mass effect inspired from some former devs and Casey Hudson is leading Arcanaut Studios which is supposedly still working on the new Fate of the old republic

You probably won't see anything about it for a few years. It was one of those lets announce a game In pre production not even close to even being a game yet trailers.

I got incredibly excited just learning about exodus and then immediately deflated when I saw they blew millions hiring Matthew McConaughey.

When will these people learn?

Id rather they brought back voice actors like Garrus' and invest more in the actual game thanks.

Some of the biggest problems BioWare had were caused by the Old Guard and their "BioWare magic" (ie: crunch and dev abuse).

People love glazing the "good old times". But the"good of times" were the reason why BioWare was in a death spiral for years.

what rights?

Baldur's Gate and Knights of the Old Republic can be made by anyone else because they don't own the IP. I don't think the Mass Effect and Dragon Age IPs are worth much: They're kinda generic sci-fi and fantasy settings that could easily be something else. Owlcat is about to release a "spiritual successor" to Mass Effect in the world of The Expanse, for example.

None of these properties have the depth and unique character and charm of something like Fallout.

As for Jade Empire and Anthem, yeah no one is paying good money for those.
