I'll wait for it to be $20. My backlog is that long.

Crimson Desert is the one I really want to play, too.

It’ll keep you busy for a while

It apparently gets good after ~65 hours in.

I tell everyone to play Expedition 33 but no one does! It’s so amazing though. I constantly think about it.

2

u/Phyzm1 Jun 25 '26

yeah man its on my short list, I may dive in this weekend.

And by then they have fixed the bugs and such.

If it trails GTA 5, you can expect to wait abut half a decade if not more before something like that happens. Heck I think the lowest we’d ever see it go is $40-$50.

But of course no need to play it anytime soon, but yeah, there’s no way Rockstar is gonna let it for $20 for at least a decade.

Rdr2 goes on sale all the time.

2

u/Kiwi_In_Europe Jun 25 '26

It took 5 years for RDR2 to get its first 75% off sale

2

u/PossibleAlienFrom Jun 24 '26

What? I got GTA V for $15 within 5 years of release.

Yeah of course you did back when GTA 5 released in 2013 in the era of $60 games and before what even Rockstar could have anticipated in terms of the behemoth it would become. At the time GTA5 was still at 100 million copies sold. Rockstars knew it had legs, but no one could have predicted the legs would take it to 230 million copies sold which is where it sits at now.

Now that Rockstar and Take Two know just how much a force it is, you can expect them to keep it at near full price for a long time.

Baldur’s Gate 3 came out in 2023, and three years later it has shown no signs of slowing down nor going below its $45 dollar price when it goes on sale. And that’s with Baldur’s Gate 3 being $60 retail since it came out.

GTA 6 is that on steroids. You can bet good money, it ain’t going cheap anytime soon.

I even got another extra copy of GTA V for free from Epic Launcher back in 2020.

You underestimate the backlog of gamers my guy

RDR2 was $15 for like 6 months very recently

1

u/JohnNeutron Jun 24 '26

Yes it was, still released in that era of $60 video games and was 8 years ago, and though it has been a massive hit, nowhere near as big as GTA 5 and is trailing GTA 5. I mean it’s still a freaking behemoth, just not at the same level.

GTA6 is coming out at $80, which means that even when it hits 50% off it’ll be $40. And that’s obviously not gonna happen for a long while. Heck for it to be at $15 it needs to be 82% off. Not anything I’ve seen of Rockstar’s games save for their ancient titles.

For real especially since they aren't gonna make another gta for prob 20 years.

I still haven’t played GTA V and I literally don’t have to buy it because it’s part of a subscription I pay for other reasons

I'm still at the start of The Witcher 3, I want to play GoW Ragnarok, I want to play Spider-Man 2 and the Miles game. I want to play Forza Horizon 6. I'm currently knee deep in enjoying Overwatch. Also want to try out Marvel Rivals. Also want to play Street Fighter 6, want to really learn it and get a bit decent at it. Funny enough, I also haven't played Red Dead Redemption 2 yet and want to play it too. Elden Ring too. Ghost of Tsushima too. Also want to check out games like Wolf Among Us, Detroit Become Human. I've had Heavy Rain for YEARS and still haven't played it yet. I also started a whole Uncharted 1 and 2 replay. Hadn't played 3 and 4 yet and will be playing them too. Haven't played Assasins Creed since the second game and want to check it out too. Want to play Hitman too. Also want to check Cyberpunk out. I'm good. There's enough for me to play until I'll see GTA on sale.

I only recently played the Titanfall 2 campaign. I'm perfectly fine with being a patient gamer.

See you in 2034

1

u/neekogasm Jun 24 '26

gta 5 took 5 years to drop to $20 from $60 on a summer sale, youll probably have to wait 6+ years for a drop from 80 to 20

1

u/MrAngrySadHappyFace Jun 24 '26

If it ever even goes that low. I don't think it will. I'm guessing 30-40 will be the lowest we ever see. Probably some time around like 2033 lol.

1

u/jdp111 Jun 24 '26

GTA V is still $30 lol.

1

u/PossibleAlienFrom Jun 24 '26

I got it for $15 awhile back.

1

u/Haunting_Tax_3684 Jun 24 '26

Have fun waiting for 2031

1

u/PossibleAlienFrom Jun 24 '26

I'll be having lots of fun while saving lots of money.

2

u/Haunting_Tax_3684 Jun 24 '26

Saving 60 dollars is life changing

0

u/PossibleAlienFrom Jun 24 '26

Saving tens of thousands definitely is. I been gaming since Pong and will die a gamer. I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing without resorting to pirating.

1

u/WerthersAWill Jun 24 '26

It will never be that low since the game is 100% digital.

1

u/PossibleAlienFrom Jun 25 '26

What? There are plenty of digital games that end up being free.

1

u/WerthersAWill Jun 25 '26

Big AAA games like GTA6 won’t hit $20 digital. Period. No physical release means Rockstar can control prices.

1

u/PossibleAlienFrom Jun 25 '26

You people keep saying that and yet you keep getting proven wrong through the years.

1

u/LEJust_Twist_4955 Jun 24 '26

I still haven’t played GTA 4 or 5 yet, I’m good.

1

u/8_Alex_0 Jun 24 '26

Every game is different

1

u/No_Good_1026 Jun 24 '26

My backlog is so long I can wait for it to come to PS Plus or to become free on the high seas.
